Why had Naimus managed to figure out Dual Law Coordination? Because he had originally relied on it to push the Breath of Holy Law to the high tier.
Compared to the souls of this world, his transmigrator's soul had a unique structure and strange properties. Perhaps it should have been called a True Spirit.
After Naimus transmigrated, he naturally possessed an external soul as well.
Only after Naimus became aware of his own True Spirit did he gain the unorthodox problem-solving method of dividing his existence into inner and outer parts, allowing them to breathe simultaneously.
As Naimus's True Spirit circulated, a speck of golden light lit up within it.
That was the Number of This World! The portion of Divinity Naimus had obtained from the God of Precepts was proof of his qualification to become a god.
Now, as the Divinity emerged, the breathing of Naimus's True Spirit also gained a special power.
As Dual Law Coordination activated, the breathing of Nigel's body changed as well. The Holy Nail of faith embedded in his body trembled faintly and underwent further changes.
Once a Holy Nail entered the body, it essentially cut off one's future. Unless a Divine Miracle occurred, there was no saving them.
But now, this was a Divine Miracle!
The original Holy Nail had merely been an invisible nail formed from ordinary Power of Faith.
Yet now, it was filled with countless dense impurities.
The Holy Nail resembled a rotting slab of meat, sprouting all kinds of maggots.
"I want to marry a woman who obeys me completely!" Naimus's mind touched one of the "maggots," and he heard such a prayer.
Clearly, these were impurities within faith—the things people desired while praying to gods, stray thoughts mixed into their belief.
Very few people could believe in a god without reservation and with all their hearts, not for any other reason, but simply because that was the god they wanted to believe in.
And if a god could not deal with these impurities of faith, they would be swept along by the needs of their believers and gradually become less and less like themselves.
The ability currently displayed by the Divinity was the purification of faith.
Yet it could only purify, not refine the impurities. Naimus had no way to deal with these "maggots."
He tried using mental power to remove those stray thoughts, only to discover that they were bound extremely tightly to the faith.
Naimus's mental power had little effect on them.
If he forced it, he might even damage the Power of Faith along with them.
"Unfortunately, my Divinity is incomplete. Judging by the current situation, it probably accounts for only one-fifth of a complete Divine Rank."
"Many of its functions are incomplete. I still need to activate them step by step before their abilities can truly be revealed."
"And I know too little about gods."
Above Golden Breeds were Mythical Breeds. Although Mythical Breeds differed from gods, the gap was no longer great.
But the difference between Golden Breeds and Mythical Breeds was an insurmountable chasm.
"Black Stone, steel, gold, Legend, myth."
"Legend is a special Breed Count. Its rank is equivalent to gold, much like how Variant rank is equivalent to Demon rank, but it is extremely difficult to attain. I don't even know how to achieve it."
"I only know that Legends can generally only be successfully promoted by great figures who stand in history."
"My knowledge basically ends at Golden Breeds. The little I know about Mythical Breeds consists of common knowledge everyone knows."
"This kind of information is too difficult to obtain." Naimus currently had two methods. One was to contact a cult.
Cults were professional rebels. They specialized in opposing orthodox gods, and any that had survived without being wiped out over the years possessed a certain understanding of gods.
"The other is becoming a High Demon."
When Demons advanced in rank, they received inherited information from the consciousness of the Abyss, while their permissions within the Abyss were updated.
High Demons corresponded to Golden Breeds, while Demon Lords corresponded to Mythical Breeds.
Naimus estimated that once he became a High Demon, he would be able to obtain some knowledge of myths.
After all, when he had become a Variant Demon, he had gained some knowledge concerning High Demons and Golden Breeds.
This was probably a kind of Incentive, encouraging him to advance as quickly as possible.
"It's just that advancing won't be so easy for me." Naimus had difficulties of his own.
A Variant Demon's values could swell to more than three times those of an ordinary Demon, and the difficulty of becoming a High Demon was likewise more than three times that of an ordinary Demon.
Naimus had roughly estimated that if he remained in the Abyss, his chances of becoming a High Demon would become exceedingly slim.
Combined with the Number of Divinity he possessed from the God of Precepts, he had gone to considerable effort to enter the Material Plane ruled by the God of Precepts.
"Do I have to fulfill the conditions one by one?" Naimus roughly observed that a single Holy Nail contained dozens of stray thoughts.
However, most were fairly homogeneous. They were all extravagant desires.
"No, that would be far too inefficient." Naimus promptly rejected the idea.
Fulfilling wishes could naturally eliminate stray thoughts, but he was not a true god and could not illuminate the world with divine power.
Besides, not even gods would do that.
"There must be another way to remove these stray thoughts." Naimus had a premonition that if he could accomplish this, not only would Nigel's bodily predicament be resolved, but he would also gain a deeper understanding of the essence of Divinity.
During this process, Naimus made several more attempts. For instance, he altered the nature of his mental power, increasing its offensiveness. Rather than removing the stray thoughts, he attacked to destroy them.
He discovered that this could indeed eliminate some stray thoughts, but it could not eradicate them completely.
Or rather, the current function of Naimus's Number of Divinity could only purify faith to a certain extent.
"And it consumes an enormous amount of energy."
"My mental strength isn't weak, yet dealing with this tiny amount of stray thoughts has already taken an hour."
"In a day, I can probably only deal with three stray thoughts."
"Not only can't this brute-force method eradicate them, it also can't truly help me improve."
Naimus's purpose in acquiring Power of Faith was to use it to develop his Divinity, then gradually master and perfect it.
It would serve as support for his climb toward the summit.
Using brute force at a time like this was merely neglecting the root for the branches.
"Perhaps I should change my line of thought..." Defeat did not make Naimus retreat. Instead, it sparked his inspiration.
The Rope of Oath appeared, and Naimus closed his eyes to sense the other Ropes of Oath.
Especially the Rope of Oath connected to Pur.
He wanted to use the Divinity to compare the differences between faiths.
Naimus believed that Pur's faith was relatively pure.
By comparing pure Power of Faith against Power of Faith filled with stray thoughts, he might find a solution through the differences between them.
But just as Naimus focused his attention on Pur's side, he suddenly sensed a change in another section of the Rope of Oath.
"Hmm? The Village Guardian?"
Everyone, please keep following. Thanks for the support.
