Background / History

Ling Yu was originally a man from Earth who touched an earthy-yellow scale sent by his grandfather and awakened as a newborn outside the Morning Glow Village chief's home. The village chief raised him and gave him the same name he had in his previous life. The scale remained embedded in his chest and was accompanied by an indistinct dragon shadow in his mind. 2 6

At age three, the Basic Cultivation Method appeared in his mind. The technique gave him a separate body-cultivation path—Body Tempering, Blood Refining, Bone Forging, Marrow Cleansing, Soul Refining, Houtian, and Innate—and transformed him from an idle child into a relentless cultivator. He discovered that cultivation at dawn was ten times more effective than usual. 2

After awakening the Sharingan, Ling Yu was identified by Yue Guan as the possessor of a rare Body Martial Soul. He left Morning Glow Village for Martial Soul City, where Bibi Dong accepted him as her disciple after witnessing his exceptional body and potential. 6 7 9

Ling Yu later received Grandmist Violet Qi from the Yinglong shadow in his spiritual sea. The qi restructured his body, rebuilt his spiritual sea, and evolved his lightning power, giving him an unusually strong foundation for future cultivation. 36
