Background / History

Na'er first accompanies Ling Yu, Hu Liena, Yan, and Xie Yue after the group returns from the Star Dou Great Forest. Ling Yu treats the young Gu Yuena as someone under his protection, while she worries for his safety when he leaves to confront Evil Soul Masters. 33

At her Martial Soul awakening, she manifests a Silver Spear and is found to possess Innate Full Soul Power. Ling Yu reacts with open excitement, calling her a peerless genius and resolving to seek a suitable mentor for her. 41

Ling Yu brings Na'er to Sunset Forest to obtain her first soul ring. His examination finds that her frail-looking body is already comparable to that of an ordinary Soul Grandmaster, while her Spiritual Power equals that of an ordinary Soul Elder despite her having no soul ring. She absorbs a Purple Jade Bamboo ring successfully. 49 50

During Ling Yu's two-and-a-half-year training in Labyrinth Grand Canyon, Na'er studies at Spirit Hall Academy. Their reunion reveals how strongly she fears losing her place in his life; she tells him she has missed him constantly and worries about his relationship with Bibi Dong. 67 68

Na'er later explains that another consciousness is nearing full recovery and that their eventual fusion frightens her. The injuries of that other consciousness have recovered unusually quickly while near Ling Yu, apparently influenced by his aura. 68

Her true identity is exposed when her awakened memories and aura reveal her to be the Silver Dragon King, ruler of the Soul Beasts and one half of the Dragon God. Unlike Na'er's comparatively simple life experience, the Silver Dragon King's memories consist mainly of awakening after the Dragon God's death, fleeing while gravely injured, and spending long periods asleep recovering. 111
