Background / History

Fang Mo is a transmigrator who awakened his martial soul at an orphanage at age six. His initial manifestation was a humanoid woman formed from tangible darkness, resentment, and Rakshasa divinity. The awakening terrified the other children and left the awakening master speechless; Fang Mo was subsequently confirmed to possess innate full soul power. 1

The humanoid martial soul was revealed to be a remnant of the future-defeated Bibi Dong, whom Fang Mo calls Dong'er. Rather than reject the hostile soul in his Sea of Consciousness, Fang Mo proposed that they cooperate so she could regain power and resolve her unfinished affairs. 3

After Spirit Hall investigated his abnormal awakening, Fang Mo manifested a second martial soul: the Rakshasa Scythe. Pope Bibi Dong recognized the implications of his twin martial souls and claimed him as her personal disciple, personally directing his cultivation. 4 5

Fang Mo deliberately presents himself as a confused and obedient child before Spirit Hall authorities while privately assessing its internal power structure. He understands that Bibi Dong's protection is his strongest safeguard against the Elder Hall and Consecrated Hall. 2 5 6

Appearance

Fang Mo is a thin, pale six-year-old boy whose ordinary appearance contrasts sharply with the ominous divinity of his martial souls. 11 23

  • Pale skin and a slight build. 11 23
  • Usually wears plain clothing after entering the Pope Palace. 11
  • His controlled demeanor often appears unusually mature for his age. 1 4

Personality

Fang Mo is calm, calculating, and highly restrained. From his awakening onward, he conceals his knowledge and mature mindset behind the behavior expected of a frightened child, especially when facing Spirit Hall's powerful figures. 2 4 5

He is strategic in both cultivation and relationships. He tests the Rakshasa Scythe's devouring attribute, limits his strength against Yan to cultivate future allies, and uses half-truths to protect Dong'er's existence from the Consecrated Hall. 13 22 24

Despite his caution, Fang Mo is compassionate toward Qian Renxue's longing for maternal affection and actively seeks means to stabilize Dong'er's remnant soul. He also shows concern for Bibi Dong's wellbeing even when uncertain about her changing behavior. 27 28 57

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Fang Mo possesses two dark-type martial souls: a humanoid remnant soul identified as the defeated future Bibi Dong, and the Rakshasa Scythe. 4 5 6

  • Humanoid spirit — Manifests as Dong'er, a dark-haired woman with dark-red eyes and Rakshasa divinity. 1 22
  • Rakshasa Scythe — A scythe marked by mysterious purple patterns, with a skull set into its hilt. 34
  • Bibi Dong forbids him from attaching rings until his two martial souls are fully coordinated. 7
  • He conceals the Rakshasa Scythe during routine Combat Training Ground sessions. 21

Shadow Erosion

Fang Mo's first soul skill releases dark-purple mist through Dong'er's manifestation. 22

  • Erodes protective soul power and weakens an opponent internally. 22
  • Can bypass conventional defensive barriers, including Yan's wall of fire. 22
  • The mist can surround targets from multiple directions and reform after being dispersed. 22
  • Fang Mo used only a restrained portion of its power to suppress level-18 Yan in under thirty breaths. 22 24

Devouring Attribute

The Rakshasa Scythe can devour external spirit beasts' spirit power and life force, refine them into purer energy, and feed that energy into Fang Mo's meridians and spirit rings. 15

  • Increased his first ring from 500 to 650 years during absorption. 14 15
  • Can function in combat through the erosion and draining effects associated with his dark power. 24
  • Its existence is kept secret; Fang Mo has disclosed it only to Bibi Dong. 15
  • Its use carries risks, prompting Bibi Dong to restrict his cultivation following his first ring absorption. 15

Shadow Soul Devour

Fang Mo's second soul skill allows him to devour the souls of living organisms. 35

  • Used alongside Shadow Erosion to weaken a 5,000-year Radiant Sky Deer. 35
  • Helped create an opening for Qian Renxue and the others to finish the beast. 35

Sea of Consciousness Communication

Fang Mo can communicate mentally with Dong'er inside his Sea of Consciousness. 3 6

  • Receives guidance concerning the Rakshasa Scythe, cultivation, and the Rakshasa God Trial. 6 82
  • Can manifest Dong'er for Qian Renxue under controlled circumstances. 24 26
  • Dong'er's condition improves after the Azure Soul-Condensing Orchid, allowing her soul body to gain tangible sensation. 32

  • Dong'er / Spirit Bibi Dong — Fang Mo's humanoid martial soul and a remnant of the future-defeated Bibi Dong. Their initially hostile relationship develops into a cooperative partnership built on mutual reliance. 3 6 34
  • Qian Renxue — Initially hostile toward Fang Mo over Bibi Dong's attention, she grows to trust him because he enables her to meet Dong'er, whom she recognizes as her mother. 16 24 25
  • Yan — First combat opponent at the training ground. Fang Mo defeats him decisively, after which their repeated sparring develops into a tacitly cooperative rivalry. 21 22 24
