History

Fugaku first takes notice of Uchiha Jun after watching him defeat other young Uchiha with Water Release. Questioning why a clansman favors water techniques, Fugaku offers to teach him the Great Fireball and Phoenix Sage Fire. Jun learns with startling speed, prompting Fugaku to seek a jōnin-level supervisor for him and arrange a spar with Uchiha Shisui 2 3. Fugaku later teaches Jun the foundations of Uchiha-style swordsmanship and gives him a residence in the clan grounds after his first A-rank mission 18.

As commander of the squad sent against Iwagakure’s Explosion Release Unit, Fugaku works with Jun at Qionggu Ridge. After the mission, he shares restricted clan archives with Jun and backs his rise within the Uchiha and Konoha 37 41 42. Their roles gradually reverse: Fugaku remains clan head, but increasingly relies on Jun’s military and political plans. He secures alliances with smaller clans, negotiates with the Fire Daimyō, and supports Jun’s takeover of Root, while sometimes objecting to Jun’s harsher proposals 54 97 110 135.

Personality

Fugaku prizes Uchiha talent and is quick to invest in clansmen he believes can strengthen the clan. He is also protective: he warns Jun that the Sharingan cannot answer every battlefield threat and initially hesitates to send four-year-old Itachi to the front 3 64 89. His ambition to see an Uchiha become Hokage coexists with caution about losing the clan’s fighters or provoking unnecessary conflict 48 54.
