Medusa ruled the Snake-People Tribe in the Tagor Desert during a period of pressure from neighboring human empires and internal division. She had previously defeated Hai Bodong in a single move and placed a Snake Seal on him, ordering him to support Ya Fei within the Mittel Clan. 15

Her rule was challenged by Mo Basi and the Great Elder, who sought to eliminate the competing Medusas within the tribe. During their ambush, Medusa protected Yue Mei, gave her a teleportation scroll to escape, and remained behind to confront the traitors despite severe injuries. Xiao Fan intervened with a stored Dou Zong-level attack, allowing Medusa to survive. 55 56

Although initially distrustful of Xiao Fan as a human, Medusa accepted his assistance in exchange for an Exotic Flame and gradually came to trust his knowledge of Snake-People bloodlines and evolution. She later chose the personal name Cai Lin, given by Xiao Fan. 57 59 64
