Background

Qing Lin is the daughter of the previous Green Snake Sect Master. Following her mother's recent death and the decline of the sect, she lived alone while suffering hunger, discrimination, and beatings. Believing her unusual eyes to be ominous, she kept them covered with black cloth and was regarded as blind. 47 49

Xiao Fan found her being bullied and offered her a home. Qing Lin accepted despite her fear, beginning to regard Xiao Fan as her brother and Zi Yan as an older sister. 47 48

Her apparent blindness was caused by the sealed power of her unique pupils, compounded by damaged meridians and soul injuries. Xiao Fan treated her weakened body through medicinal baths, massage, and eventually the refined Seven Illusion Green Spirit Saliva. 49 50 96 97

During the treatment of her pupil seal, Xiao Fan's soul entered a blood-colored space and witnessed a grown Qing Lin who had searched through samsara for his dispersed soul and endured heavenly lightning to retrieve it. Xiao Fan concludes that his rebirth was bought through Qing Lin's sacrifice; the present child Qing Lin is connected to the Qing Lin he lost, yet is not wholly identical to that past self. 97 98 134

Initially an emaciated young girl whose eyes were hidden beneath a black veil, Qing Lin gradually recovered her health under Xiao Fan's care.
