Background / History

The tribe was long confined to the Tagor Desert, where scarce resources and pressure from the neighboring Jia Ma, Chu Yun, Luo Yan, and Mu Lan Empires threatened its survival. Xiao Fan states that the tribe originally migrated from the Central Plains, though this history had been forgotten by Medusa herself 59 64. Without a Dou Zong-level protector, it risked being gradually consumed by surrounding states 51.

Relations with humans were marked by hostility, discrimination, and trafficking. Stone Desert City residents openly prejudiced against snake-people, while human mercenaries captured snake-women for sale 46 55.

The tribe also faced a severe internal crisis when leader Mo Basi collaborated with human mercenaries and a Great Elder to assassinate Medusa. Their plot was exposed after Yue Mei was wounded protecting Medusa; Xiao Fan and Zi Yan intervened, allowing Medusa to survive and later reassert royal authority 55 56 58 63.

Queen Medusa's successful evolution gave the tribe hope of escaping the desert and finding territory suitable for its bloodline and future generations 70 71. After negotiations with the Jia Ma Empire, the tribe gained control of the Magical Beast Mountain Range, Mo City, and several border cities, while the Tagor Desert became jointly governed territory 142.

Following the Three-Nation Allied Forces' assault on the Snake-Person Holy City, the tribe began a large-scale migration toward the Central Plains. It eventually secured Serene Water Snake Valley through an alliance with the restored Nine Nether Deep Earth Python Tribe leader, Yao Ming 270 275 305.

Society and Governance

• Queen Medusa holds supreme authority over the tribe and directs its military defense, diplomacy, punishments, and migration policy 64 275 292.
• The tribe includes tribal leaders, Great Elders, commanders, guards, elders, and regional clans. The seven tribal leaders are described as loyal supporters of Queen Medusa rather than servants of any individual elder 55 63.
• The Great Elders historically held considerable influence; four were stated to be peak Dou Emperor experts 55.
• The tribe maintains a Dark Guard, used during the purge of Mo Basi's faction 64.
