Background / History

Taiheng Sect was founded by Immortal Venerable Taiheng, the great cultivator who led humanity's rebellion against the dragons during the Dragon Era. The Taiheng Realm itself was named after him and his sect. 3

After its founding, the sect adopted the principle that humans and dragons could not coexist. It trained disciples, supported human forces across the realm, and waged a prolonged extermination campaign until the last dragon in the Taiheng Realm was killed. The resulting dragon inheritances later fueled a golden age of human cultivation. 3

For most of its history, Taiheng was the realm's foremost sect. Its decline accelerated after Tianyi Sect rose through its own Supreme Dao Art; Taiheng eventually lost its position as the undisputed number-one sect despite retaining immense territory, inheritances, and manpower. 14 147

Taiheng later established the Ascension Academy system to teach literacy, cultivation knowledge, Runes, Formations, Pill Refining, and Artifact Forging before recruitment into the sect. The academy became a major feeder institution, though its curriculum covertly separated elite students from vocational-track students according to background. 19 23

Territory and Organization

Taiheng's sphere of influence was divided into four major regions:

Each region contained multiple kingdoms and subordinate sects. Taiheng restrained them from open warfare but did not prevent raids, covert conflict, or competition for resources. 3 4

The sect itself occupied an enormous mountain-gate domain, including small worlds and artifact-space. Its internal structure was arranged into layered heavens and concentric administrative zones. 94 220

Hengming Tower marked Taiheng disciples and exempted them from the spatial restrictions of the Primordial Tide Array. This privilege could be revoked; cultivators who opposed Hengming could have their spatial divine abilities suppressed severely. 213

Noble Families and Internal Decline

Over time, Taiheng transformed from a sect into a conglomerate of powerful hereditary families. These families monopolized industries, cultivation resources, and political authority, with power concentrating in the lineages of the twenty strongest cultivators. 147 230

The sect's recruitment and inheritance systems increasingly favored princes, noble families, and disciples who brought their own fortune. Commoners without fortune found it increasingly difficult to enter Taiheng or cultivate its inherited spiritual powers. 5 217

Qu Heng later adopted a Nine-Rank System that ranked families by the cultivation of their ancestors. The system exposed a large number of hidden Three Tribulations cultivators and tied future sect benefits to family rank. 231

Tian Dao Yi reorganized the Tai Heng Army from 260 million personnel into three million elite Qi Refining cultivators. He instituted officer selection, training, improved compensation, and a unified command structure before launching the Northern Expedition. 236

Lin Clan Purge

Lin Tianheng's killing of Zhao Bu and disregard for Ascension Academy disciples exposed the gap between Taiheng's formal ideals and the conduct of its powerful families. 9

After the destruction of the Lin ancestral land, Qu Heng convened the Elder Council, expelled the Lin Clan from Taiheng Sect, and ordered the purge of its main branch within Taiheng territory. 144

War Against the Great Peace Way

Taiheng issued an official mission to suppress the Great Peace Way rebellion in Nanlin. More than 16,000 disciples accepted early in the campaign, while Outer Disciples and subordinate sect cultivators treated the war as an opportunity for resources and promotion. 162 163

The conflict became the “Heng-Ping War” or “Two Tai Civil War.” Taiheng deployed more than 200,000 Outer Disciples and over six million Body Refinement cultivators from subordinate sects, but failed to prevent the Great Peace Way and similar forces from expanding. 196 217

Tian Dao Yi's Command

Tian Dao Yi was given command of the Tai Heng Army, rebuilt it into an elite force, and led a successful Northern Expedition that rapidly defeated the Dongsheng Militia Alliance's command structure. 236

His popularity and military achievements alarmed Qu Heng. Tian Dao Yi was later assigned to guard the Nether Abyss, where he died in an ambush by the Sun Sect, causing widespread suspicion and disillusionment among Taiheng disciples. 239

Collapse and Destruction

As Tai Heng Star faced destruction, Taiheng's elders attempted to abandon their home planet using Half-Immortal Artifacts. Hengming confronted them, condemned their abandonment of Tai Heng and its people, and endured their attack with the Heaven Destroying Sword. 262 263

Hengming ultimately sealed, absorbed, and refined Taiheng's remaining powerhouses. Taiheng was dismantled for resources, its population was relocated and aided by Great Xia, and the land was unified under Great Xia after 150,000 years of division. 264
