Background

Yang Ning originated from Earth and transmigrated into a tenant farmer family in the Yue Kingdom. His family’s debt was severe enough that his father considered selling him, but Yang Ning’s precocious intelligence changed their circumstances: he could speak at two months, walk at half a month, and guided the construction of a Curved Shaft Plow at six months old. The invention made him a celebrated child prodigy and earned him the County Lord’s patronage. 2

He pursued scholarship and statecraft with extraordinary speed, becoming a Xiucai at five, a Juren at six, the Top Scholar at seven, and Yue’s Minister of Works at ten. During this period, he invented or improved the water wheel and loom, developed mathematical works including Yang Ning’s Numbers, Yang’s Geometry, Yang’s Algebra, and Yang’s Functions, and founded the scientific journal Truth. 2

At eleven, Yang Ning launched a hot-air balloon and discovered an invisible barrier over the capital. His encounter with a White-Robed Immortal revealed the existence of cultivation; he abandoned his ministerial post, became an Immortal Seedling’s book boy, and departed for the Taiheng Realm. 2

On the voyage to Taiheng, he studied the Vast Wilderness Records, mastered the Amber Breathing Technique, and created the Seven-Day Breathing Technique in eleven days with assistance from Deep Blue.
