Background / History

Ye Qiong was raised within the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect, where he became its foremost young disciple and earned the favor of the sect's two Douluo. Ning Fengzhi later gave him the childhood marriage contract binding him to Ning Rongrong, while acknowledging that Ye Qiong's ambitions and Rongrong's path differed. Ye Qiong was largely indifferent to the engagement and had rarely interacted with her during his decade at the sect. 1 2

Unlike those native to the world, Ye Qiong remembers the complete original plot surrounding Tang San, from Tang San's past-life leap to his ascension. He establishes Omphalos Academy to alter that trajectory, develop overlooked students into geniuses, and ultimately transcend the Douluo plane. 1 3

His deeper memories return after entering the academy's Simulated Reality. Ye Qiong realizes that he is a Trailblazer who entered the Douluo world to find Cyrene and change their fate. A recorded message explains that Cyrene is trapped in an Iron Curtain causal loop; saving her permanently requires Ye Qiong to gain enough power to reach the Imaginary Tree and rewrite causality. 33 34

Appearance

Ye Qiong is a young gray-haired man typically seen in white robes. His youthful appearance causes prospective students to mistake his position as dean, as he appears only a few years older than them. 1

  • Gray hair.
  • Usually wears white robes. 1
  • Carries or manifests the Pathfinder Baseball Bat in battle. 8 9

Personality

Ye Qiong is confident, calculating, and unusually unconcerned with conventional limits. He views Tang San as a protagonist to be suppressed rather than followed, actively seizing opportunities from the expected storyline for his academy and himself. 1 8 12

As dean, he is strict about fairness. He refuses Ning Rongrong's enrollment despite their engagement because of her contempt for other applicants, and he does not bend academy rules for sect ties or status. 2

He is deeply invested in his students' potential, particularly those with mediocre starting talent. Rather than recruiting only established geniuses, he provides tailored training, combat experience, herbs, instructors, and system resources to elevate them. 3 5 20 21

Cyrene's fate exposes a more vulnerable side of Ye Qiong. He accepts the possible consequences of the Iron Curtain's return rather than abandon her, and becomes notably more vigilant after Mimi reunites with him. 34 35
