Douluo Era 2.
On the Shrek Academy playground.
Huo Yuhao stood on the playground, sighing helplessly.
"Yin-Yang Complementary Dual Soul Cores? And the result is that she becomes her?"
"That was something I condensed for her, my heart's blood, my soul power."
"The child was born, yet she wouldn't even listen to a single explanation, turning and leaving just like that."
"In her eyes, is Huo Yuhao really so unworthy of trust?"
Within the Sea of Spirit, the voice of Electrolux rang out:
"Child, you are questioning not just that woman, but the shadow standing behind her."
"Teacher, are you speaking of Tang San?"
"The Sea God of ten thousand years ago, the Asura God of today."
Electrolux said:
"You possess a million-year soul ring, my inheritance, and potential that transcends this era."
"What do these things mean to a god?"
Huo Yuhao narrowed his eyes: "A chess piece."
"No."
Sky Dream Iceworm interjected:
"A dog."
"A dog that bites, and one that can serve as a power bank for his daughter."
"I have lived for a million years; I have seen too many tricks."
"This Tang San, splitting his daughter's consciousness into two—Wang Dong'er and Wang Qiu'er—this is clearly him playing a game."
Huo Yuhao's hands trembled: "So, it was a trap from the very beginning?"
"When you met Wang Dong'er, didn't you find it suspicious?" Electrolux said:
"The daughter of the God Realm, appearing by your side, and coincidentally able to perform a martial soul fusion with you?"
"But Wang Dong'er, she..."
"She is Wang Dong'er, and she is also a part of Tang Wutong."
Electrolux interrupted him:
"The feelings are real, and the exploitation is also real."
"The soul core you gave was sincere, and the fact that she accepted it readily is also true. Both things are true at the same time."
Huo Yuhao closed his eyes.
Wang Dong'er's laughter, Wang Dong'er's anger, the figure she cut standing before him.
They were all real.
But the Tang Wutong in the Light Screen who turned away so coldly, those eyes devoid of warmth, were also real.
"Then what should I do?"
He asked in a low voice:
"If I go to the Tang Family in the future, will I just become a pathetic wretch who gets discarded after being used?"
A long silence followed.
"You know enough now."
Electrolux said, "A chess piece that knows the boundaries of the board is no longer a chess piece."
Huo Yuhao's eyes cleared: "You mean..."
"The path of the future lies beneath your feet. Will you still give her the soul core?"
"Are you willing to be her father's dog?"
Huo Yuhao did not answer.
He thought of Wang Dong'er's face, that face which would one day cry for him, laugh for him, and risk everything for him.
"But what about Wang Dong'er?"
He whispered:
"She is not yet Tang Wutong; she doesn't know about those futures. But if one day Tang Wutong's memories return, will she still be herself?"
As the wind swept across the playground, Huo Yuhao felt a bewilderment deeper than death for the first time.
Douluo Era 2.
Shrek Academy.
Wang Dong'er trembled all over, consumed by rage.
"That good-for-nothing!"
She slammed her fist into a tree trunk.
"What Tang Wutong? That is absolutely not me! Even if I, Wang Dong'er, were to die, I would never do such a thing!"
Xiao Xiao sighed, "Dong'er, calm down."
"Calm down? That woman in the Light Screen is wearing my face, draining Huo Yuhao's blood, and abandoning him! By what right?"
"She truly doesn't resemble you."
Xiao Xiao said.
"You would give your life for Yuhao, so how could you ever treat him like that?"
"Exactly, so that isn't me!"
Wang Dong'er's eyes were rimmed with red.
"What daughter of the God Realm, what daughter of Tang San—what does that have to do with me? I am Wang Dong'er, a work-study student at Shrek, Huo Yuhao's partner!"
"But Dong'er," Xiao Xiao hesitated, "the Light Screen said you are a part separated from Tang Wutong. If those memories return..."
"Then let them never return!"
Wang Dong'er cut her off.
"A person's memories are what matter. Every day I have lived, I have been Wang Dong'er, and every experience I have shared with Huo Yuhao has been experienced by Wang Dong'er."
"Even if those memories return, could they possibly outweigh my own?"
Xiao Xiao nodded, "If you are firm enough, those foreign memories will just be someone else's story."
"That is why I must never fall into Tang San's hands."
Wang Dong'er's voice turned cold.
"He wants to turn his daughter into a tool, separating me only to merge me back in. What am I in his eyes, a puzzle piece?"
"Then what will you do?"
"What will I do? Staying Wang Dong'er is enough." Wang Dong'er sneered, "I don't acknowledge him!"
"Can he force a father onto me? Whoever wants to be his daughter can go ahead; I, Wang Dong'er, have no interest in it!"
Xiao Xiao smiled, "That is the Dong'er I know."
Wang Dong'er looked up toward the direction where the Light Screen had vanished and whispered.
"Huo Yuhao, you idiot, don't you dare hide from me because of what was on that screen. I am not her, and I never will be."
Douluo Era.
Notting Academy.
Tang San frowned as he watched the Light Screen go dark.
"Why do I get the feeling this thing is targeting me?"
He turned to Xiao Wu, "The future me is being painted as a schemer."
Xiao Wu pressed down on his shoulder, "San, you're overthinking it. The Light Screen is only telling one side of the story."
"But if Tang Wutong really is our daughter—"
"So what?" Xiao Wu interrupted him.
"That girl in the Light Screen has her own issues."
"A good child wouldn't treat Huo Yuhao like that. He gave her his heart and soul, yet she walked away without even listening to an explanation."
"Can we blame it all on the father?"
Tang San fell silent, "You're right, she has her own faults."
"Exactly," Xiao Wu's tone softened.
"When we have a daughter in the future, we will teach her well."
"Teach her trust, gratitude, and responsibility. She won't end up like the one in the Light Screen."
Tang San looked at Xiao Wu, his eyes filled with tenderness, "You're right."
"I, Tang San, have lived an upright and honorable life. If I am to be called a villain who schemes against his juniors ten thousand years from now, I must ensure such a thing never truly happens."
"Then let's start thinking about how to raise her now."
Xiao Wu smiled.
"If that day ever comes, we won't let her become like that."
Tang San smiled as well, though a trace of gloom lingered in the depths of his eyes.
Was the version of himself in the Light Screen truly just distorted?
Or had his future self really transformed into something else over the long, endless years in the God Realm?
He tightened his grip on Xiao Wu's hand, burying the question deep within his heart.
Regardless, his own image must absolutely not be tarnished; when the time came, he would simply have to take action against this daughter if necessary!
As Tang Wutong's Sharp Critique concluded, the discussions among many were forced to a halt.
Many began to speculate who the next subject of the Sharp Critique would be.
Especially in the Douluo Era 2, Shrek Academy was now at a loss as to how to handle the situation, having learned that Wang Dong'er was the daughter of the God King.
The members of the Clear Sky Sect in the Douluo Era 2 could not see the Light Screen, as the connection slots for the Azure Bull Python and the Titan Giant Ape of that era had been occupied by their counterparts from the Douluo Era.
At this moment, aside from Shrek Academy, no one could protect Wang Dong'er.
While Huo Yuhao still hesitated, unsure of how to face Wang Dong'er, the Sea God Pavilion had already begun devising a way to handle the matter.
After an all-night meeting, Mu En finally decided to implement a moderate policy: to cooperate with Wang Dong'er rather than exploit her.
