Arriving at Notting City

While this scene was unfolding in the Heaven Dou Empire, Qian Renxue and Tai Yi had successfully arrived in Notting City.

Upon arriving, Tai Yi immediately thought of the Spirit Hall awakening deacon known for awakening the most powerhouses in the entire universe: Su Yuntao.

Tai Yi intended to visit the Notting City branch of the Spirit Hall to see this "number one awakening master" who appeared in countless fan-fiction novels. More importantly, he needed to find out if Tang San had already left Notting City. After all, if Tang San were still there, Tang Hao would likely be nearby, making it difficult for him to head to Holy Soul Village and claim Tang San's mother's spirit bone.

Soon, Qian Renxue and Tai Yi arrived at the Notting City Spirit Hall branch. The guards at the entrance spotted them, and noting their luxurious attire, they realized these were no ordinary visitors. They approached with the utmost respect and asked, "Greetings, two guests. This is the Spirit Hall; may I ask what brings you here?"

Tai Yi didn't waste any time. He produced his Spirit Hall Elder token and looked at the guard, saying, "Gather everyone in this branch. We have some questions to ask."

The moment the guard saw the Elder token, he saluted and replied, "I understand, my lord. Please step inside and wait for a moment; I will notify everyone immediately."

With that, the guard instructed his colleague to escort Qian Renxue and Tai Yi to the reception room while he went to summon the rest of the staff.

Once they were seated, Qian Renxue turned to Tai Yi and asked, "Xiao Yi, aren't we here for that spirit bone you mentioned? Why come to this branch?"

Tai Yi replied, "Opportunities aren't going anywhere. I came here because, back in Spirit City, I was reviewing awakening records from various regions and found a case in Notting City: someone with innate full spirit power, yet whose spirit was Blue Silver Grass. I was curious, so since we were in the area, I thought I'd come and see what that was all about."

"A Blue Silver Grass spirit? And it can have innate full spirit power? Isn't there something strange about that?"

Qian Renxue voiced her doubts. As the young master of the Spirit Hall, she had access to the most comprehensive knowledge of spirits and immediately spotted the anomaly.

She looked at Tai Yi and asked, "Could this person have twin spirits?"

Tai Yi nodded and said, "That is exactly why I wanted to come and ask."

Having read the original story, Tai Yi had once thought that only Yu Xiaogang could identify Tang San's twin spirits. However, because he had grown up in Spirit City, he knew that the archives there contained extensive data.

Anyone who had seen those files should have been able to guess that Tang San's spirit was abnormal, yet no one had ever sought to verify it.

Logically, a case like Tang San's should have drawn attention once it reached Spirit City. Six years ago, Tai Yi had specifically checked the database for awakening reports and had even looked at the Notting City records, where he found the registered information.

It stated that Tang San's spirit was Blue Silver Grass and his innate spirit power was level one.

Seeing this, Tai Yi naturally understood that the records had been tampered with. He already had a suspect in mind: Bibi Dong.

As the Pope of the Spirit Hall, how could she not know that Yu Xiaogang was in Notting City? Tai Yi suspected Bibi Dong had altered the records. Whether she did it to help Yu Xiaogang on her own initiative or because Yu Xiaogang had sent word asking for her help, Tai Yi wasn't entirely sure.

Just then, the door to the reception room slowly opened. Qian Renxue and Tai Yi saw that the guard had gathered everyone from the Notting City branch.

Seeing the two of them, the guard stepped forward, saluted, and announced, "Elder, all members of the Notting City Spirit Hall are present."

The other members, noticing the Elder token Tai Yi was idly turning over in his hand, quickly bowed and said, "Greetings, Elder!"

Tai Yi waved a hand and said, "It's fine, no need for formalities. We are just traveling through. I came here because of a piece of information I saw back in Spirit City."

After speaking, Tai Yi scanned the crowd. He realized that identifying Su Yuntao based solely on his memories from his past life's animation was quite difficult.

He spoke up, "We are here to find a deacon named Su Yuntao. We have some things we would like to ask him."

At these words, Su Yuntao, standing in the crowd, froze. He instinctively glanced at his beloved Si Si and Ma Xiunuo, with whom he had a good relationship.

The two reacted differently to his gaze. Because Tai Yi had singled him out by name, and since Su Yuntao hadn't made any significant contributions to the Spirit Hall lately, everyone assumed he had gotten into trouble and was now being held accountable.

Fearing she might be implicated, Si Si shifted behind the others, avoiding Su Yuntao's eyes.

Seeing this, Su Yuntao felt a bitter pang. After years of pursuit, and with Si Si finally softening toward him recently, he had thought they were on the verge of being together. To see her act this way now left him feeling deeply saddened.

Ma Xiunuo, on the other hand, stepped forward immediately and asked cautiously, "May I ask, Elder, what has Su Yuntao done? Is everything alright?"

Realizing they had misunderstood, Tai Yi explained, "We are just passing through. I saw some materials submitted by Notting City back in Spirit City and found something interesting, so I came to inquire about it. If Su Yuntao satisfies my curiosity, there will be rewards for him."

He then looked at Ma Xiunuo and the others and said, "Alright, you may all leave."

The staff obeyed and filed out of the reception room. As Ma Xiunuo left, he leaned toward Su Yuntao and whispered, "Yuntao, whatever the Elder wants to know, tell him everything you know. Don't hide anything, and certainly don't make anything up."

Su Yuntao nodded gratefully.
