Wang Jinxi's massive black hand seized Xie Xie, gripping his entire body within its hold.
His Martial Soul was indeed of the darkness element, and a top-tier dragon-type at that: the Bone Dragon King. Ye Yingluo had once remarked that if anyone in Class One had the potential to reach the rank of Title Douluo, it would undoubtedly be Wang Jinxi.
"Perfect chance!" Wei Xiaofeng rejoiced. His figure blurred like a shadow as his second soul ring flared. Several Green Shadow Snakes materialized around him and lunged at Xie Xie in unison; he had unleashed his second soul skill, intending to defeat Xie Xie in a single strike.
"Do you really think I'm that easy to bully? I'm a two-ring soul master too!"
Xie Xie let out an angry shout, and the second soul ring beneath his feet lit up.
In an instant, Xie Xie began to spin, using the tips of his toes as the axis.
This was his second soul skill, Light Dragon Storm, a technique that served equally well for offense and defense.
The immense impact generated by the high-speed rotation forced Wang Jinxi to loosen his grip. Simultaneously, Xie Xie's body twisted at an impossible angle, instantly slipping out of Wei Xiaofeng's attack range.
Seeing his attack miss, Wei Xiaofeng's face darkened as he glared daggers at Xie Xie.
"Is that all you've got?" Xie Xie said triumphantly, clutching his slightly dizzy head.
"Xie Xie, are you alright?" Tang Wulin immediately asked with a look of concern.
Xie Xie gave Tang Wulin a thumbs-up. "Piece of cake!"
All six had made their moves, yet the outcome remained a stalemate; it was still six against six.
"Get me into the air!" Wang Jinxi shouted to Zhang Yangzi.
"Got it!"
Zhang Yangzi moved, instantly flying up to hover above Wang Jinxi.
"A big guy like you wants to fly?" Xie Xie sneered. He summoned his Shadow Dragon Dagger, his speed increasing another notch as he charged straight for Zhang Yangzi.
"Damn it!"
Watching Xie Xie lunge toward him, Zhang Yangzi cursed under his breath. Although his Soul Power was a few levels higher than Xie Xie's, he did not possess Twin Martial Souls, nor was his Soul Power as deep. This left Zhang Yangzi unable to deal with Xie Xie for the moment, forcing him to abandon the plan of lifting Wang Jinxi into the air.
"You think you're strong? Let's see how we compare!"
Tang Wulin's footsteps erupted with force. Golden scales emerged on his right hand, and within mere seconds, his entire right hand was covered in a layer of brilliant, shimmering gold.
"What is that? Twin Martial Souls?" Below the stage, Ye Yingluo was baffled. She clearly remembered Tang Wulin's file stating his Martial Soul was Blue Silver Grass.
Wu Zhangkong, however, was not surprised. After all, during the past two days of special training, Tang Wulin had already revealed the Golden Dragon Claw.
At first, Wu Zhangkong couldn't make sense of the golden claw either; it clearly wasn't a Martial Soul, yet it bore a striking resemblance to one.
Tang Wulin hadn't been able to explain it well, only saying it was a type of Bloodline Power awakened with the help of that senior.
Since it wasn't a bad thing and could serve as a hidden trump card, Wu Zhangkong hadn't pressed for more details.
With the Golden Dragon Claw unleashed, Tang Wulin's aura surged instantly, radiating a dense Bloodline Power.
Even Xie Xie, who was fighting Zhang Yangzi in mid-air, felt his own spirit sharpen significantly upon sensing that surge of Bloodline Power.
"Comparing strength with me? I've never lost!"
Wang Jinxi roared, raising his ossified right hand into a fist and slamming it directly into Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Claw. He was confident that his strength, bolstered by the Bone Dragon King's ossification, was enough to rival an average three-ring Soul Elder. He refused to believe he couldn't overpower a mere one-ring soul master.
But in reality, the moment Wang Jinxi's body entered within ten meters of Tang Wulin, a terrifying sense of dread welled up in his heart. It was as if he weren't facing a soul master, but a humanoid beast. This dread turned the Bone Dragon King's power into a shackle, forcing Wang Jinxi to loosen his grip and stand frozen, a bizarre urge to kneel rising within him.
Then, he watched helplessly as Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Claw struck his own Bone Dragon Claw.
Crack! Crack-crack!
The moment the Golden Dragon Claw made contact, the sound of shattering bone echoed out.
Whose?
"How is this possible?"
Wang Jinxi watched in horror as his Bone Dragon Claw fractured, the broken pieces crumbling into dust.
This was the power of the Golden Dragon Claw—an indestructible, pulverizing force. Not to mention, was the Bone Dragon King's bloodline even as powerful as the Golden Dragon King's?
Tang Wulin didn't linger in contact. He grabbed Wang Jinxi and hurled him toward the edge of the arena.
He intended to throw Wang Jinxi out to eliminate him; after all, this was just a match, and he had no deep-seated grudge against Wang Jinxi to warrant shattering his claw for good.
But the moment Wang Jinxi was thrown, the dread that had enveloped him vanished, and his second soul skill flared to life.
A thick black mist radiated from Wang Jinxi's body. As the mist thinned, Tang Wulin was shocked to see that nearly a quarter of his body, including the Bone Dragon Claw, had become ethereal, effectively dissipating the force of Tang Wulin's throw.
"Take this, you brat!"
Xie Xie suddenly appeared behind Wang Jinxi, his right leg lashing out with immense force toward Wang Jinxi's back.
"Get lost!"
Zhang Yangzi's figure appeared behind Wang Jinxi as well, and a massive cloud of black mist erupted from him, rapidly spreading across the arena.
"Xie Xie, get back! Something's wrong with this black mist!" Tang Wulin shouted.
"Do you think you can leave?"
In the midst of the black mist, Xie Xie blinked, dazed to see three versions of Wei Xiaofeng standing before him.
"Clone Soul Skill!"
Xie Xie inwardly cried out in alarm. His second soul skill lit up once more, as he intended to unleash the Light Dragon Storm again to break the deadlock.
Yet for some reason, Xie Xie felt his Soul Power becoming sluggish, circulating much slower than it normally would.
Just as Xie Xie was about to be ambushed by Wei Xiaofeng, a flash of silver light suddenly appeared beside him. A slender, fair hand grabbed Xie Xie's wrist, and with another flicker of silver light, Xie Xie vanished from the encirclement of the three Class One students.
"Space element!"
Wei Xiaofeng was left dumbfounded by the sight. Just how many elements could this Gu Yue possibly control?
"Thanks, Gu Yue," Xie Xie said with a grin.
Gu Yue rolled her eyes at him and said indifferently, "You two hold them off for me. I'm going to use my ultimate move."
Upon hearing the words "ultimate move," Xie Xie instantly understood what Gu Yue was planning to do next. He gripped the Light Dragon Dagger and Shadow Dragon Dagger tightly and said earnestly, "Leave it to me and Wulin."
Tang Wulin nodded as well. By now, his Golden Dragon Claw had faded, and he held two Thousand-Refined Sinking Silver Hammers firmly in his hands.
