The golden light lasted for about ten seconds.
Then, the scattered rubble began to slowly move to both sides, as if an invisible hand had pushed it aside, revealing the buried tunnel ruins below.
The train's twisted metal shell, broken seats, scattered luggage, and large patches of red were all exposed to the air, a truly horrific sight.
Long Yuan withdrew his right foot, and the golden ripples dissipated. The pebbles fell, but instead of crashing back to their original positions, they piled up neatly on both sides, forming a huge crater.
The rescue team's Mecha and equipment also landed on the ground. Several pilots were so weak in the knees that they slumped in their cockpits, unable to recover for a long time. The law enforcement officers who had floated in mid-air also landed, their faces pale, looking at Long Yuan as if he were a god.
Wu Demao loosened his grip on the tree trunk, his legs still trembling. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but found his throat dry and unable to utter a single word.
Long Yuan ignored them and leaped into the crater, landing on the twisted wreckage of the train.
The metal casing was blasted open countless times, revealing everything inside charred black. The air was filled with a pungent smell of burning and blood, a mixture that was nauseating.
Long Yuan stepped along the edge of the wreckage, walking deeper into the wreckage. He once again extended his divine sense, locking onto Tang Wulin's location.
It's just a short distance ahead.
He stepped over a section of broken carriage wall and saw a horrific scene.
Tang Wulin leaned against a pile of twisted metal fragments, covered in blood. Most of the scales on his right arm were shattered, revealing the mangled skin beneath. His right trousers were torn open, and blood was still seeping from the wound.
His shirt had a hole in the chest, revealing purplish-black bruises, and several ribs were clearly broken. His face was covered in dust and blood, his lips were dry and white, and his eyes were tightly closed.
But he was still breathing.
Mo Lan was on top of him, the wound from when his back hit the carriage wall was still bleeding, his hair was disheveled and covered his face, and his whole body was limp, like a lifeless rag doll.
But she was still alive, and her chest was still rising and falling slightly.
The two men's blood mingled together, forming a pool of dark red liquid on the ground.
Long Yuan crouched down and reached out to check Tang Wulin's carotid artery. There was still a pulse, very weak, but it was still beating.
He glanced at Mo Lan again. He didn't recognize this strange woman, but since she was with Tang Wulin, she must be a passenger on the train.
Long Yuan had no time to think. He took out the piece of Gold of Life that Di Tian had given him from his Storage Soul Tool, held it in his hand, and used his Soul Power to activate the vast life energy within it.
A vibrant green light, like the warm spring sun, emanated from his palm and enveloped Tang Wulin and Mo Lan.
Life energy seeps into their wounds, stopping the bleeding, repairing, and restoring vitality.
Tang Wulin's breathing became slightly more stable, and Mo Lan's wound stopped bleeding.
Long Yuan put away the Gold of Life and gently picked up the two people, one in each arm.
He turned around, leaped out of the pit, and landed in front of Wu Demao.
Wu Demao's legs were still weak, and he subconsciously took two steps back.
"There are still survivors." Long Yuan's voice was calm, but Wu Demao could tell that beneath that calm was suppressed anger.
Wu Demao nodded hurriedly. "Yes, yes! This humble official understands!"
He then shouted to his subordinates behind him, "Keep digging! Don't abandon a single one!"
Long Yuan didn't look at him again, and carrying Tang Wulin and Mo Lan, he strode towards the " Silver Dragon " Mecha.
The night wind blew, and the remaining pebbles on the mountainside rustled.
The rescue team silently resumed their work; no one spoke, only the roar of the robotic arms and the sound of falling rocks could be heard.
Long Yuan placed Tang Wulin and Mo Lan in the rear cabin of the Mecha. The cabin was not very spacious to begin with, so the two of them squeezed together.
Long Yuan glanced at Mo Lan's injuries. Her back was cut with various lengths by metal fragments, but the wounds were not deep and had not damaged her internal organs. She had a fracture in her right arm, but it was not serious.
Aside from that, most of the injuries were superficial wounds and bruises from the impact. She was an ordinary person without any protective Soul Power; it was a miracle that she survived the explosion.
The Silver Dragon took off again and flew towards Linchuan City.
The cockpit was quiet, save for the low hum of the Power Core. Long Yuan wasn't using autopilot; his hands gripped the control stick, his gaze fixed straight ahead. His expression was unreadable, but his grip on the control stick tightened slightly, his knuckles turning white.
Soon, the Silver Dragon flew to the hospital in Linchuan City. Long Yuan found a two-person ward and, with the help of the nurses, settled the two of them in.
However, he refused to let the doctor in to treat him, believing that with the Gold of Life, this injury was only a matter of time and there was no need to do anything more.
About fifteen minutes later, a soft hum was heard.
Long Yuan turned his head to look and saw Mo Lan move slightly, her brows furrowed, her eyelids trembled a few times, and then she slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry, she couldn't see or hear anything clearly, and could only feel a buzzing in her ears.
"Where... where is this..." Her voice was hoarse, her throat so dry it felt like it was on fire.
"At the hospital," Long Yuan's voice came from the side, concise and indifferent.
Mo Lan paused for a moment, then turned her head with difficulty and saw a golden figure.
"That child..." She suddenly remembered Tang Wulin and subconsciously reached for the person beside her.
"He's still alive," Long Yuan said. "He's lying on the hospital bed next to you, but he's not in any danger."
Mo Lan breathed a sigh of relief and closed her eyes again. After a few seconds, she opened them again, as if remembering something, her voice weak but firm. "There are Evil Soul Master on the train. They hijacked the train, saying they want to announce the return of the Holy Spirit Cult to the Federation."
Long Yuan's brow twitched slightly, but his voice remained calm. "I understand."
As he spoke, Long Yuan injected a wisp of spiritual energy into Mo Lan's mind, clearing her mind from its Tear.
"Thank you... By the way, who are you...?"
"My name is Long Yuan. The person who saved you is Tang Wulin, my disciple." Long Yuan's tone was emotionless.
Mo Lan was silent for a moment, then said in a low voice, "He's a brave boy. He fought several Evil Soul Master all by himself; I saw it with my own eyes. He could have run away, but he didn't. He kept protecting the passengers."
She paused, her voice trembling slightly, "If he hadn't held those people back, we might be dead already."
Long Yuan did not answer.
Mo Lan continued, "But those Evil Soul Master... each of them has a soul-guiding device implanted in their body. Once they die, the soul-guiding bombs that have been planted beforehand will explode. And then... and then..."
Her voice trailed off, as if she were using her last breath. "I don't know how many people survived..."
"There are still about ten people left," Long Yuan said. "The rescue team is still digging."
Mo Lan didn't say anything more.
After a while, she suddenly asked, "Could you please make a Soul Guidance Communication for me? I'm afraid my father will be heartbroken..."
"Of course, what's your name? And give me your number." It's just a small favor, I can help you out.
"Thank you. My name is Mo Lan, and my father's name is Mo Wu. His number is..."
Long Yuan raised an eyebrow.
Mo Lan? So it was her...
"Beep--"
The communication was connected, and Long Yuan handed her the Soul Guidance Communicator: "You speak for yourself."
Mo Lan whispered, "Thank you."
Some time later, on the balcony of Long Yuan's ward, the night wind blew, and the hem of her clothes fluttered.
He looked up at the distant mountain range; the flames from the explosion had long since died down, and only the searchlights of the rescue team were still flickering in the night sky.
He took out his Soul Guidance Communicator and dialed a number.
It rang twice before the other end answered.
" Zhen Hua, help me check this out."
"Investigate what?"
"Check if there have been any terrorist attacks elsewhere recently. That might be the work of the Holy Spirit Cult." Long Yuan's voice was cold. "They're out again. By the way, be careful over there too; they'll probably come after you as well."
"Okay, I understand."
Zhen Hua didn't say much. He could tell that Long Yuan was clearly angry and would explode at the slightest provocation.
