Background / History

Qian Xunji is Qian Daoliu's elder son and Qian Mochen's older brother, twenty years Mochen's senior. He possesses the Seraphim martial soul and serves as the Pope of Spirit Hall. Before Qian Mochen's intervention, he opposed Bibi Dong's relationship with Yu Xiaogang, judging Yu's low talent unsuitable for Spirit Hall's Saintess. 1

When Bibi Dong threatens to leave Spirit Hall, Qian Xunji knocks her unconscious, seals her soul power, and considers forcing her to bear a talented child to preserve her twin-martial-soul lineage within the organization. Qian Mochen stops him before he acts, condemning the plan as shortsighted. 1 Qian Xunji later remains hostile toward Bibi Dong, but warns her not to harm his younger brother. 5 He eventually apologizes to Bibi Dong for his earlier conduct, though the two thereafter largely treat one another as strangers. 25

At Qian Mochen's urging, Qian Daoliu orders Qian Xunji to seek wives to expand the Qian bloodline. Unable to resist his father's threats, he attends more than a dozen arranged meetings in a single day and finds none of the candidates objectionable. 6 7 He ultimately marries ten women in a public ceremony attended by representatives of major factions. 9 12 Four of his wives, including Yue'er, are confirmed pregnant after he receives Qian Mochen's Fertility Pills. 25

After becoming a Title Douluo, Qian Xunji resumes an increasingly visible role for Spirit Hall. He presides over the Soul Master Tournament, negotiates the exchange of self-created soul skills for other factions' secret manuals and resources, and handles much of the organization's reform work while Bibi Dong is in seclusion. 35 38 39 42

Much later, the Rakshasa God's Divine Thought implants a spiritual suggestion in Qian Xunji to make him pursue a transformed hundred-thousand-year soul beast. Qian Mochen discovers and restrains the divine influence, then has Qian Xunji follow the intended script under his protection in order to expose the plot. 113 After Qian Xunji clashes with Tang Hao in the Star Dou Forest, Qian Mochen publicly fakes his death and uses the incident as grounds for Spirit Hall's campaign against the Clear Sky Sect. 114 115

Personality

Qian Xunji is protective of Spirit Hall's interests and of Qian Mochen, but his initial response to Bibi Dong's attempted departure reveals a ruthless, controlling streak. He views her primarily as an irreplaceable strategic asset whose power cannot be allowed to leave Spirit Hall. 1

Within his family, he is frequently passive and easily pressured. Qian Daoliu can compel his obedience through threats and force, while Qian Mochen repeatedly assigns him work or maneuvers him into arrangements he did not choose. 6 20 42 Despite this, he gradually proves capable in diplomacy, using negotiations over cultivation techniques to obtain manuals, herbs, and other assets for Spirit Hall. 38 39

Although he often complains about Qian Mochen's schemes, Qian Xunji trusts his younger brother on serious matters. Once Qian Mochen exposes the Rakshasa God's influence, Qian Xunji accepts the plan to play the villain's role despite recognizing its dangers and obvious flaws. 113 He also agrees to the ruse surrounding his supposed death when he realizes its strategic value against the Clear Sky Sect. 115

Qian Xunji rejects Bibi Dong's relationship with Yu Xiaogang and nearly commits an irreversible act to keep her twin-martial-soul talent inside Spirit Hall. Qian Mochen's arrival prevents this, fundamentally shifting Qian Xunji's authority within the organization. 1

Marriage Arrangements
