Background / History

Tang San had already accepted Yu Xiaogang as his master and trusted him implicitly when Zhu Shen took over Yu Xiaogang's body. This trust allowed Zhu Shen to direct Tang San onto the system-mandated Lone Bamboo cultivation route, beginning with a ten-year Lone Bamboo ring despite Tang San's innate full soul power and twin martial souls 1.

Although initially doubtful of Zhu Shen's increasingly extravagant claims—including the assertion that nine Lone Bamboo rings could grant godlike power—Tang San chose to test his teacher's judgment. His first spirit skill proved unexpectedly effective, reinforcing his faith in Zhu Shen 1 2.

After Tang Hao revealed himself as Tang San's father, Tang San demonstrated his new skills and absorbed the Wangchuan Autumn Dew at the instruction of both people he trusted most. Tang Hao subsequently left Tang San in Zhu Shen's care, making Zhu Shen his primary guardian and instructor 5 7.

At Notting Academy, Tang San became a work-study student and trained alongside Wang Sheng, Xiao Lian, Li Erniu, and the other work-study students. He later assumed a leading role among them, teaching teammates control techniques and guiding them through tournament preparation 11 13 30.

Personality

Tang San is disciplined, cautious, and highly persistent. He trains seriously, endures painful ring absorptions beyond his apparent limits, and continues to improve even after humiliating setbacks 13 27 31.

He is observant and resourceful, often noticing suspicious activity or preparing contingencies. He investigates Dean Su Nuo at Zhu Shen's request, carries poison needles for self-defense, and assists in identifying Blood Shadow's altar weakness 16 17 19.
