Background / History
Morgan le Fay created Mordred using Artoria's essence blood; Lan Ze's blood also mixed into the creation, making Mordred the child of Morgan, Artoria, and Lan Ze. Merlin identifies her birth as a divergence from the expected fate in which she would become one of Britain's tragedies. 53 107
Mordred matured at an extraordinary rate, able to run and jump only a little over two months after her creation. Raised largely under Morgan's supervision, she trained intensively and developed adult-level physical strength while still a child. 63 80
During Vortigern's attack on Britain, Mordred slipped away to witness Artoria—whom she called her Father King—fight. She met Lan Ze, recognized him as another Father King after seeing the Gate of Babylon, and grew deeply attached to him. 63 64
At Oudegrun, she defied Vortigern despite being unable to harm him, refusing his offer to become his daughter and future King Arthur. Vortigern injured her after she bit his wrist; Lan Ze subsequently defeated the demonic dragon and rescued Artoria. 86 87 88
In the Holy Grail War, Mordred was summoned as a Servant under Ryougi Shiki. She initially attacked the disguised Lan Ze, but immediately retreated upon recognizing her father. 107 She later served the Black Faction as Assassin, before openly defecting to Lan Ze after turning her Noble Phantasm on Black Saber. 200 202 204
Appearance
Mordred is depicted first as a small blonde girl, then later as an armored Servant wielding a greatsword. 64 105 202
- Golden hair; an ahoge visibly reacts when she is nervous. 106 210
- Uses a helmet while operating as a Servant, concealing her identity. 107 202
- Carries a greatsword as her primary weapon. 105 106
- Had the physique of a normal adult despite still being a young child. 80
Personality
Mordred is fiercely rebellious, competitive, and eager for battle. She is willing to ambush enemies, dismisses conventional knightly conduct, and believes victory matters more than method—a lesson she attributes to Lan Ze and Agravain. 80 106
Her bravado is balanced by a strong desire for her fathers' approval. Around Lan Ze she acts like a well-behaved daughter, worries about disappointing him, and enthusiastically recounts his exploits as though he were an unmatched hero. 78 107 111 113
She is highly protective of Lan Ze. She repeatedly attempts to intervene when he is endangered, including carrying him away from several powerful women and resisting pressure to accept any of them as a mother. 131 153 243
- Enjoys fighting and actively seeks opponents when unsupervised. 145 152
- Clever and opportunistic; uses daggers in sparring and devises a plan to stall Jeanne d'Arc. 80 217
- Can be intimidated into compliance by people she considers her mothers or overwhelming superiors. 152 153 210
- Treats people loved by Lan Ze favorably and sees helping him gain partners as helping him choose a queen. 118 216
Abilities & Skills
Exceptional Physical Strength
Even as a child, Mordred possessed strength comparable to a normal adult and was expected to become capable of fighting powerful Round Table knights as she matured. 80
- Can launch sustained, forceful attacks with a one-handed sword. 80
- Her raw strength initially exceeded her technical skill; Agravain could redirect her attacks because she relied on brute force. 80
- As a Servant, she is recognized as a highly skilled warrior with a top-tier Noble Phantasm. 152
Swordsmanship and Combat Instincts
Mordred fights aggressively with a greatsword, favoring direct pressure and surprise tactics. 105 106
- Uses thrown daggers and feints in close combat. 80
- Quickly deduces the likely identity of disguised Servants, including Lan Ze. 201
- Was decisively outmatched in close combat by Artoria. 203
Rapid Mana Absorption
Mordred can absorb magical energy into her body extremely quickly due to the Red Dragon factor and a trace of Tiamat's bloodline gained through Lan Ze's replenishment of mana. 152
- Can take in mana rapidly “just by taking a breath.” 152
- Enables sudden releases of exceptional power. 152
- Her Master during the earlier Holy Grail War possessed an effectively inexhaustible magical-energy supply, allowing repeated Noble Phantasm use. 107
Magic Resistance
As a Servant, Mordred possesses significant Magic Resistance, though it cannot overcome multiple Command Spells. 153

- Unlike a Caster proficient in magecraft, she cannot ignore Command Spell commands. 153
Noble Phantasm: “My Glorious Father’s Rebellion”
Mordred channels mana through her greatsword to fire a powerful red energy cannon. 106 204
- Activation chant begins: “To my glorious Father—” 106 107
