The Sea God is the divine patron of Sea God Island. His authority is represented in the mortal realm by High Priestess Bo Saixi, whose ordained fate is to sacrifice herself to open the path to godhood for the Sea God’s true successor. 3

Li Qing’s martial-soul awakening draws a blue divine light from Sea God Hall and leaves a golden trident mark on his forehead, signaling the Sea God’s recognition and inheritance. 2 Li Qing is subsequently treated as the Sea God’s successor, and no one on the island—including Bo Saixi—is permitted to receive his bow. 3

The Sea God is unusually eager to pass on his divine position. He gives Li Qing exceptional support before the official Nine Trials have even begun, including recognition by the Sea God Trident and assistance in cultivation. 28 53 59

The Sea God’s inheritance includes Nine Trials, which Li Qing is expected to complete before taking the divine seat. The timing of the official trials remains under the Sea God’s own control. 2 29

The Heart of the Sea God, also called the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud, is a crucial component of the Sea God’s inheritance. 84

A divine consciousness of Poseidon resides within the Heart of the Sea God.

Personality

The Sea God is pragmatic, politically minded, and detached from old grievances. When asked about a marriage alliance between Li Qing and Qian Renxue, he immediately approves it for its potential to unite the Sea God and Angel God lineages, strengthen Sea God faith, and expand oceanic influence across the continent. 19

He views alliances through lasting interests rather than permanent enmity. Despite Sea God Island’s historical conflict with Spirit Hall, he considers cooperation beneficial when it serves his lineage. 19

The Sea God is also notably partial toward Li Qing. His divine consciousness states that Li Qing’s existence and martial soul are variables the Sea God did not anticipate, but may have been waiting for. 86
