Desert Iron Mercenary Group Ambush

A snake-people group surrounds members of the Desert Iron Mercenary Group while intending to kill the men and capture the women. Several of the attackers are Nine-Star Dou Zhe. 147 148

Xiao Tianci intervenes, freezes the attacking snake-people with a single strike of Great River Sword Intent, and incinerates their surviving leader after he uses dark-green poisonous gas. This destroys the attacking party, not the wider Snake-People Tribe. 149 150

Oasis Encounter with Yue Mei

While seeking water, Xiao Tianci enters an oasis near a Snake-People settlement. He encounters Yue Mei, who attacks him with poisoned water arrows, surrounds him with venomous snakes, and suspects him of being a Jia Ma Empire spy. 190 191 192

After Xiao Tianci defeats Yue Mei's guards, she orders his death. He answers by defeating the attackers with a single sword strike and leaves despite her threat that the tribe will pursue him. 193

Charm Snake Tribe Retaliation

Xiao Tianci later infiltrates the Charm Snake Tribe's fortress. After its guards attack him with hundreds of poisoned spears, he burns the weapons and unleashes Two-Sleeve Green Snake, destroying two towers and heavily damaging the settlement. 202 203

The attack prompts nearby settlements to request reinforcements from the other great tribes. The entire Snake-People Tribe subsequently enters martial law and summons the Eight Great Tribe chiefs to Queen Medusa's temple. 203 204

Imperial City Crisis

The tribe prepares to confront Gu He's human delegation, which has entered the desert to obtain Queen Medusa's Heavenly Flame. Queen Medusa warns Gu He that the eight chiefs are converging on the imperial city and that some strongly hate humans. 207 208 212

The Snake-People Tribe's hostility shifts after Xiao Tianci presents the Limitless Dou Ling Pill. Queen Medusa sees it as a means to strengthen her Dou Wang subordinates and potentially help the tribe leave the desert. 214 215

Queen Medusa invites Xiao Tianci into the imperial city as an honored guest and offers access to the tribal treasury. Mo Basi and Yue Mei order their subordinates not to harm him, while ordinary snake-people begin treating him with cautious friendliness. 215 216 217
