Queen Medusa rules the Snake-People Tribe in the Tagor Desert, where her name inspires fear among humans and snake-people alike. Her strength is credited with preserving the tribe through its long conflict with the Jia Ma Empire, while the eight tribal leaders serve at the Dou Wang realm beneath her authority 200 208.

At some point, Hai Bodong obtained a map fragment in the Tagor Desert and drew Medusa's pursuit. She placed the Snake Sealing Curse on him, leaving the former Dou Emperor weakened and deeply fearful of her 139 140.

Half a year before Gu He's visit, Medusa acquired the Green Lotus Core Flame. The Heavenly Flame severely injured her, forcing her to search for Red Water Spirit Roots to temporarily suppress her wounds; Qing Lin sensed Medusa's injured aura near an oasis during this period 167 210. Her injuries were later fully treated 209.
