Background and History

Creation

Star Continent was initially a world of sea without land. According to its traditional history, the Star Saint shot down countless stars; their fragments fell into the ocean and became nation-, city-, town-, and village-level islands. The All-Star Archipelago was formed from the smallest of these fragments. 65

The world became one of the Nine Provinces after the Star Saint—originally the Star Emperor of Pill Continent—achieved sainthood and established this land as the ninth continent. 590 Though named a continent, it was defined by vast seas, boundless skies, and island chains scattered across the water. 1

Political Landscape

Before its destruction, Star Continent contained fifteen nation-islands, whose governments competed for territory, trade, and influence. 337 392 Its major social powers descended from three historical legacies:

• Nation-islands — Established under the Human Emperor's ideal of unifying territory through nations. 399
• Wandering hero factions — Sect, gang, alliance, hall, and fortress networks that ignored national borders while competing for influence across the continent. 218
• Academies — Institutions tracing their origin to the Book Emperor's civilizing legacy. 399

The All-Star Archipelago remained divided for millions of years after the fall of the Five Virtue Kings. Shu Tianhao's Shu Clan eventually unified it and founded the All-Star Kingdom on October 10th, Year 756 of the Star Calendar. 247 438

Later, Chu Yun relocated the entire All-Star Kingdom—several hundred thousand people and its island territories—into his Immortal Pouch World. The evacuation took three days and left only open ocean behind. 530

Geography

• All-Star Archipelago — A dense island region formed from fallen star fragments; it was historically plagued by internal conflict and foreign interference. 65 122

Great Law Net

Star Continent was governed by the All-Encompassing Law Net, an immense system of laws that maintained order within the surrounding Hundun Sea. 391 469

• The Law Net was vast enough to extend beyond Chu Yun's sight and was far more complex than the Law Net of the Dragon Gate World. 391
• Observing it through the Heavenly Eye consumed spiritual radiance at an extreme rate, even for Marquis-level Chu Yun. 391
• A peak King could merge their Dao into the Law Net; the resulting connection enhanced their comprehension and enabled them to draw insights from other Great Daos. 399
• Spirit Beast Masters could swear binding oaths upon the Star Continent Great Law Net. 442
• The deaths of demon beasts serving as the Law Net's formation eyes during the calamity caused Star Continent's territory to shrink and collapse into the Hundun Sea. 592

Star Sea Bowl

The Star Sea Bowl was the Star Saint's accompanying sacred artifact and a key to controlling Star Continent. 592

• Before the Star Saint's fall, it repeatedly disrupted the black holes through which the Crescent Moon Gods and Devils King attempted to descend. 548
• After the Star Saint perished, the ownerless bowl came under Chu Yun's control. 592
• Chu Yun used it to repair the shattered Great Law Net and merge Star Continent with Spirit Province. 592

All-Star Archipelago's Fortune

The All-Star Archipelago possessed a distinct protective fortune tied to its first generation of five kings. Their Fortune Demons were said to have been buried among the islands after their deaths, leaving behind five currents of fortune that continued to defend the region. 122

This protection hindered large-scale foreign military intervention through repeated accidents and misfortunes, though it did not prevent trade, tourism, espionage, or limited outside involvement. 247

Gods and Devils Calamity

During the Nine Provinces' crisis, Star Continent was invaded by Crescent Moon Gods and Devils. Outer Star Demons defended the world around Star Saint Hall, while Emperor-level experts joined the fighting. 548

The crisis escalated when Crescent Moon Gods and Devils Kings descended upon the continent. Star Saint Hall was destroyed, exposing the Great Law Net as a tangible and vulnerable structure. 578 585

After the Star Saint's death, Chu Yun took command of the Star Sea Bowl. More than a month later, the remaining Crescent Moon Gods and Devils had been eliminated, but the continent was left devastated: fewer than one in ten thousand living beings remained, and its borders were collapsing into the Hundun Sea. 592

Transformation into Spirit Continent

Chu Yun launched the Star Sea Bowl into the center of the damaged Great Law Net, restored its structure, and merged Star Continent with his Spirit Province. The transformation lasted three hours. 592

The resulting world was neither the former ocean-centered Star Continent nor the original Spirit Province. Chu Yun proclaimed its new name:

“The Star Saint has fallen. Star Continent is now a thing of the past. From this day forth, this land shall be the brand-new Spirit Continent.” 592
