Realm Characteristics

The Out of Body Realm is defined by a transformation of both mana and divine sense. Its central trait is soul projection: divine sense can leave the cultivator's body and act externally. This differs from the Spirit Wandering Realm, where the cultivator's entire soul can leave the physical body and roam independently. 592

Advancement

Advancement from the peak of the Ninth Level of Qi Induction to the Out of Body Realm is also called Foundation Establishment. The quality of this breakthrough determines the difficulty and potential ceiling of a cultivator's future path. 221

Major Hurdles

• Soul leaving the body — One of the three major hurdles in advancing to the realm. A cultivator whose divine soul can already project before the breakthrough has an advantage. 203

• In the Tiannan Region, resources that accelerate cultivation become scarce from the middle and late Out of Body Realm onward; most cultivators must rely on personal qi refinement and polishing. 405
• With sufficient resources and cultivation comprehension, a basic qi-refining method can theoretically support cultivation through the peak of the Ninth Level. 773

Divine-Sense Control

Soul Pressure

The release of an Out of Body cultivator's aura and soul ripples can stiffen nearby lower-realm cultivators and render them unable to move. 233

Mana in this realm undergoes a major increase in both quality and quantity compared with the Qi Induction Realm. 592
