After speaking to Shamira, Dun Shan finally looked toward Luca in the front passenger seat and said, with some hesitation, "Young Master Luca... I still don't recommend that you come with us. I think you could provide just as much help by staying here and assisting Wrench with technical support."

If this had been an ordinary squad operation, Dun Shan would never have said so much to one of his teammates, let alone used such a conciliatory tone.

However, Luca's status was different. Dun Shan still hadn't figured out what kind of temper the young master had, so naturally he was being more cautious with his words.

But Luca had a different opinion about his suggestion.

Though Kingpin was nominally just a "fairly successful" crime boss, he was still a well-known Marvel villain.

Luca didn't want to risk losing the only force he could currently control completely.

To put it a little arrogantly, Luca had actually chosen to take the risk and join the operation so he could act as a safety net for the entire squad.

Of course, out of respect for Dun Shan as the team leader—and with trust-building in mind—Luca didn't outright reject his command.

"Don't worry. I'll stay with Baymax and Thresh. I'm sure the two of them can keep me safe."

As he spoke, Luca turned to look at the bald, burly man, who was still chewing on his finger.

Thresh awkwardly hid his hand at once and sat up straight again.

"All right. If you insist, Young Master."

As he spoke, Dun Shan patted the back of Wrench's seat in front of him, his expression returning to the serious, focused look he wore on missions.

"Wrench, get ready to take over the surveillance."

Wrench's fingers flew across the keyboard in the front seat, and he quickly replied without looking up.

"I'm already hacking the security system! Surveillance takeover will be complete in thirty seconds!"

At that, Dun Shan immediately turned around and glanced over everyone.

"Everyone, do one last equipment check and make sure your comms are clear!"

"Begin the operation!"

At his command, Thresh quickly pushed open the vehicle door. Dun Shan, Shamira, and Ryokugyu all put on their tactical glasses and filed out of the vehicle.

Thresh followed right behind, hoisting his M249 SAW squad automatic weapon.

Only Baymax, clad in carbon-fiber armor, was left at the back. He slowly shuffled out of the vehicle, then jogged to catch up with the other four.

"I'm heading out too. Be careful on your own."

Luca first called out to Wrench.

Then he slipped on a bulletproof vest, opened the side door, and got out, following Baymax at the back of the squad.

Busy hacking the system, Wrench didn't reply. Only after pressing the final Enter key did he report over comms, "System successfully hacked. Surveillance takeover complete."

At the same time, the screens in the surveillance room inside the luxurious building flickered briefly, then returned to "normal."

After that, Wrench yanked a concealed lever in the corner of his seat.

His driver's seat instantly rotated 180 degrees toward the rear of the vehicle.

Cradling his laptop in one arm, Wrench reached up and tapped a switch on the ceiling. Four screens arranged at different angles unfolded, while a table rose from the previously flat floor of the vehicle.

Wrench scanned the four screens, now connected to his computer.

"Surveillance feeds acquired. No sign of the target. The third floor is a blind spot. I suspect—"

Wrench faltered for a moment, then suddenly realized something. He looked back at the thermal imaging feed still displayed on the screen and continued, "Thermal imaging shows five people in a room on the third floor, three of them armed. Based on their builds, I can confirm the target is in the room on the east side."

To be honest, Wrench might have been the youngest member of the squad, but he'd already carried out plenty of missions.

Still, he'd never experienced anything quite like this.

"This is just like having wall hacks!"

For a moment, even he, a support specialist, felt a thrill unlike anything he'd ever experienced.

Leaving Wrench to revel in the moment, on the other side, Dun Shan quickly raised a hand as the team approached their target, signaling for everyone behind him to stop. Then he spoke in a low voice.

"Wolf Spider, Ryokugyu, come forward with me. Everyone else, stay here and keep quiet."

He then lightly tapped his earpiece.

"Longbow, confirm the target. Sentry at two o'clock."

"Longbow, roger." Longbow's voice came through the earpiece, as cold as ever.

Dun Shan lowered his head, his gaze fixed on his tactical watch as he silently calculated the timing.

"Four patrol groups. We have a twenty-second guard blind spot. Wait for my signal."

Then Dun Shan immediately made a hand signal for Shamira and Ryokugyu to follow him, silently counting down.

"Longbow!"

"Whoosh—"

A sniper round tore through the air, crossing the distance of 300 meters in the blink of an eye.

The Black Rods' guard, who had been leaning casually against the watchtower and smoking out of boredom, suddenly burst into a spray of blood from his brow. He crumpled to the ground.

At the same time, Dun Shan and the other two picked up their pace and rushed to the outer barbed-wire fence.

The moment a two-man gang patrol came into view, they raised their guns and fired.

"Rat-tat-tat—"

After several faint bursts that sounded like a typewriter, the two gang members on patrol had no idea what was happening before they were hit by several bullets and fell silent for good.

Dun Shan ignored the faint sounds the two enemies made as they fell. He immediately pulled out a long, narrow probe and placed it against the barbed-wire fence.

"No current. Ryokugyu, help me cut an opening. Wolf Spider, keep watch!"

"Yes!" the two replied in unison.

Shamira focused her attention and raised her gun, scanning their surroundings as she stood guard.

Ryokugyu, meanwhile, pulled a pair of wire cutters from the tactical bag at his waist and tossed one to Dun Shan.

But before Dun Shan started cutting, he thought of Baymax waiting behind them and reluctantly added, "Make the entrance a little wider this time."

At the same time, he didn't forget to give an order to Longbow, who was on the roof of a derelict building in the distance.

"Longbow, watch for gaps in the patrol aircraft's coverage. Take out the enemies in the other three watchtowers."

"Longbow, roger!"

On the rooftop of the derelict building in the distance, beneath the GG Sign, Longbow sat on his little folding stool.

After receiving the order, he quickly shifted his scope away from the three people cutting through the barbed wire.

"Heh. The weak deserve only to welcome death!"

Longbow silently recited his catchphrase. The rifle resting on his Nikon tripod was already aimed at the guard in another watchtower in the distance.

Through his scope, Longbow saw that the enemy in his sights was still yawning and scratching himself. His expression didn't change, but the disdain in his heart only grew.

"Heh. To die in such confusion and ignorance—you humans really are lucky."

He gently squeezed the trigger. A burst of blood blossomed from the man's temple in the scope, and he toppled straight to the ground.

"Southwest watchtower. Target eliminated!"

His voice remained calm and cold.
