"Greetings, Lord God of Destruction!"
Son Goku waved his hand as he walked over. Champa, holding a piece of roasted meat in each hand, turned his head while chewing, only to find the newcomer wearing a goofy, naive expression.
After gulping down the meat in his mouth, Champa spoke up.
"Oh! Aren't you afraid to see a God of Destruction?"
"What's there to be afraid of? I don't sense any evil intent from you!"
Son Goku was the type to get comfortable quickly; he plopped down on the other side of the table and grabbed some meat from a plate to start eating.
"Mmm, this food is still just as delicious. Lord Champa, you should try this bowl of noodles. They have a great chew, and the broth is excellent—it's quite a delicacy."
Even while eating, Son Goku didn't forget to recommend his favorite dishes.
Gamos watched all of this unfold. He truly was the protagonist; with his pure heart and the glow of the protagonist's halo, he could basically make friends with anyone who wasn't a major villain.
Just look—Son Goku had only just arrived, and within a few sentences, he was already hitting it off with the God of Destruction.
"That idiot Kakarot! Does he have any idea how terrifying a God of Destruction is?"
Vegeta gritted his teeth as he watched the scene, feeling certain that Earth would likely be destroyed because of Son Goku.
Gamos patted Vegeta on the shoulder.
"You're just too tense. Actually, the God of Destruction isn't as high and mighty or as cruel as you think. Champa is actually quite easy to get along with."
Bulma signaled the chefs to bring out a platter of roasted lamb skewers, finishing them off with a generous sprinkle of cumin. The mouth-watering aroma instantly whetted everyone's appetite.
"That looks delicious."
Vados was the first to pick up a skewer. She opened her cherry-red lips, bit into a piece of meat, and gently pulled it off.
As the roasted meat entered her mouth, its unique fragrance instantly conquered her taste buds.
"Ooh, it's absolutely divine."
Vados shyly covered her cheeks, her small mouth chewing rapidly.
Seeing everyone eating with such gusto, Gamos couldn't resist and joined the army of foodies.
Krillin, Yamcha, and Vegeta—all three possessed Saiyan appetites—exchanged glances and joined in as well.
In an instant, the grand feast originally prepared for Champa turned into a group meal for everyone.
The three teams of chefs hired by Bulma were working like madmen, operating in three shifts.
One team would finish a pot of food and immediately step aside to rest while the next took over.
After a whirlwind of eating, the empty plates were piled up like a small mountain. The meal lasted nearly an hour before finally drawing to a close.
Seeing that everyone had had their fill, Vados finally spoke up to remind them.
"Lord Champa, it is time to discuss business."
Champa was lying comfortably on a lounge chair, rubbing his stuffed belly and enjoying the sun.
Suddenly hearing his attendant's voice, he remembered he still had things to do, so he turned his gaze toward Gamos.
"Gamos, shouldn't you explain the Time Ring you have in your possession?"
Gamos finished the last of his soup with a loud slurp before setting the bowl down.
"Lord Champa, it would be better to let Goku explain it!"
"Let me explain? Explain what?"
Son Goku pointed at his own nose, looking completely bewildered.
"Zamasu!"
"Zamasu? You mean the guy who stole my face? Lord Champa, it's like this."
"Zamasu comes from the future. I suppose the future me must have been very powerful, which made Zamasu extremely jealous, so he used the Super Dragon Balls to swap bodies with me."
"Then, he used the Time Ring to constantly travel through time, finding many other Zamasus, and he even swapped bodies with other powerful warriors."
Listening to Son Goku's account, Champa rested his chin on one hand while rhythmically tapping the table with the index finger of his other hand.
"Constantly traveling through time, constantly using the Super Dragon Balls to swap into various powerful bodies... what is he trying to do?"
"Vados, does this sort of thing fall under the jurisdiction of a God of Destruction?"
"Wantonly traveling through time is strictly prohibited. If such things occur, it is usually under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Kai. However, Lord Champa, it seems the Supreme Kai's strength is insufficient to stop the opponent."
Hearing Vados's explanation, Champa only felt that more trouble was on the horizon.
"Who exactly is that Zamasu? And where did he get his Time Ring?"
When it came to Zamasu's specific identity, everyone looked at each other in confusion; Gamos hadn't mentioned it, so they were all in the dark.
"I'll go find Master Roshi. He has the ability to view others' memories. I have two Zamasus in my possession, so perhaps we can look into their memories."
After dropping those words, Gamos vanished using Instant Transmission.
Within three seconds, Gamos reappeared, and with him was a bald, hunchbacked old man with a long beard.
"Eh? Where am I?"
"Master Roshi!"
Seeing his master, Son Goku was the first to speak up and offer a greeting.
"Goku, you're here too? Is there something you all need from me?"
"Master Roshi, if I recall correctly, you have the ability to view the memories of others, right? We were hoping to ask for your help."
Gamos stated his intentions directly, causing Master Roshi to furrow his brows.
"If the target is a god, I'm not certain if I can succeed. Peering into someone's memories is no small matter; first and foremost, the target must be unable to resist, and it's best done stealthily."
"However, if the person has a strong mental fortitude, they might notice if someone tries to peek. If the target is a god, I've never attempted it before."
Master Roshi rubbed his bald head, expressing his uncertainty.
"That's fine, we can just knock him unconscious."
When it comes to causing trouble, leave it to a transmigrator; possessing a god's-eye view, his imagination was quite vast.
"That should be fine, then. But because of the target's status as a god, success isn't guaranteed."
Gamos took out a bottle with intricate patterns carved into the lid. The group looked on with curiosity, wondering what he intended to do.
However, the moment Master Roshi saw the bottle, he immediately recognized it as a sealing vessel; it must have been holding something inside.
"Everyone, step back a bit."
Gamos opened the lid and tossed it into the center of the courtyard. With a bang, the bottle shattered, and Dark Hit appeared.
"So, this ant was captured by you, then."
Champa stroked his chin, contemplating whether he should destroy the fellow before him.
"Champa!"
Dark Hit spotted the portly Champa at a glance and immediately tried to flee, but Gamos was one step ahead, striking the back of his neck with a punch.
With a thud, Dark Hit's eyes glazed over, and he lost consciousness instantly.
"Master Roshi, the rest is up to you."
Master Roshi stepped forward with a grave expression, then channeled his mental energy, extending it toward the target's head.
Gamos focused his mind, releasing his own mental energy as well to observe every move, hoping to learn this technique.
That way, in the future, whenever he shared important information, he could attribute the source to this skill.
As the memories were accessed, Master Roshi's initially grave expression grew increasingly unsightly, eventually collapsing into a look of despair.
"Tens of thousands of Dark Men, and among them, many who possess the combat power of a God of Destruction. We are in real danger now."
"Hey, old man, how is it?"
Master Roshi turned back with a heavy expression, looked at the God of Destruction Champa, and spoke.
"The situation is dire. This man is named Zamasu, an apprentice Supreme Kai from Universe 10. Because he despises the existence of mortals, he joined forces with multiple versions of himself to execute a plan called the Zero Mortals Plan. They intend to slaughter everyone in the world."
"And the first to bear the brunt are you gods. A massive number of Zamasus have gathered in the same space-time. According to their plan, they intend to kill all twelve Supreme Kais first, and then purge all mortals from this timeline."
"Dozens of timelines have already been purged. I suggest you protect your own Supreme Kai; once the Supreme Kai of Universe 6 is killed, you will vanish as well."
Hearing this, Champa's eyes widened. What kind of joke was this? Killing the Supreme Kais of all twelve universes—what audacity!
And since dozens of timelines had already succeeded, that meant over a dozen versions of himself had already been killed?
"This makes me so angry! If all of this is true, then it's absolutely outrageous. Vados, contact the God of Destruction of Universe 10 and tell him about this so he can handle it himself."
"Also, tell our universe's Supreme Kai to stay home and stay put—no, tell him to come to my God of Destruction Planet. Zamasu has already set his sights on this world, and I don't want to die."
Hearing this, everyone finally realized that the God of Destruction and the Supreme Kai shared a single life; killing the twelve Supreme Kais was equivalent to killing the twelve Gods of Destruction.
"Champa, I can no longer contact the Angel of Universe 10."
Vados looked at the staff in her hand with a grave expression. The tip of the staff flickered incessantly as she repeatedly called out to the other side, but there was no response.
All of this was within Gamos's expectations. When Zamasu traveled through time, the first thing he would do was seek out his past self; therefore, the Supreme Kai of Universe 10 was the first target to be killed.
Although he knew this, he couldn't say it out loud. These secrets regarding the gods were only known to the gods themselves; as a mortal, it was better not to get too involved.
"Damn it! I just went out for a meal, so why did I have to run into such a troublesome mess? The key is that I can't just ignore it. It's so annoying!"
Champa grabbed his head, looking utterly frustrated.
"Lord Champa, you already have an excess of fat today. Using your brain is quite good for you; getting some exercise will also help you lose weight."
No matter the situation, Vados never forgot to remind him to use his brain more, exercise more, and watch his weight.
Champa seemed to recall something, quickly turning back to look at Krillin and Yamcha. Both were startled by his gaze.
"Why do you two look exactly like them? And your auras are so similar, as if you were the same people. You aren't Zamasu, are you?"
Champa looked suspicious, stroking his chin as he began to doubt their identities.
The two shuddered in fear and hurriedly scrambled to defend themselves.
"No, that's not it! We aren't using our own bodies, it's true, but these are the bodies Zamasu swapped into in the future. We just took their bodies away from them—we are definitely not Zamasu!"
