With a loud boom, a tank fired a shell, obliterating a building. Just as the soldier was feeling smug, an alien soldier in Frieza Force attire appeared in the sky and reduced the entire tank battalion to scrap metal with a single energy blast.
Those self-righteous troops were once again reduced to smoke and dust, returning to Other World.
"Kakarot, I have returned."
A man who looked exactly like Son Goku flew in the air, laughing recklessly. He continuously condensed energy waves in his hands, unleashing a barrage of destruction upon the city below.
The already dilapidated city became a battlefield for everyone.
"Kakarot! You bastard."
Raditz appeared and fired an energy wave at him. Turles turned, swatted the attack away with a single palm, and sneered.
"I am not that bastard. My name is Turles!"
A bald Saiyan also flew over, looked at Turles and Raditz, and couldn't help but laugh.
"I didn't expect us all to be resurrected. Hahaha, that bastard Vegeta—if I see him again, I will definitely kill him."
"Since we are both Saiyans, why don't we form an alliance?"
Raditz agreed; he had been a member of the same squad as Nappa, so he naturally wouldn't object.
Turles, however, let out a cold snort. "You two pieces of trash? What right do you have to stand on equal footing with me? You're barely fit to tie my shoes."
This remark immediately infuriated Nappa and Raditz. They were the strongest squad serving the Saiyan Prince, yet now they were being mocked by a low-class warrior.
At this moment, thanks to consuming the Fruit of the Tree of Might, Turles's strength had already reached over 60,000, while Nappa and Raditz were barely at 1,000 and 10,000 respectively—they were indeed not worth looking at.
Just as the three were on the verge of a fight, a green figure appeared out of thin air.
"Saiyans!"
The three looked at the newcomer in unison. The person had insect-like armor, green skin with black spots, and stood with his arms crossed, looking at the three with a playful expression.
"Who are you?" the three asked in unison.
"The boss told me to capture the three of you."
The newcomer was none other than the temporarily submissive Cell. With a wave of his hand, the three were immobilized, and he flew with them toward the Lookout.
On the Lookout, Gamos stood at the edge, coldly surveying the scene below.
"What are you trying to do?"
The Guardian asked. Just a moment ago, Gamos had appeared suddenly, startling the Guardian, and then began observing the situation below.
"These resurrected beings should not exist in the Living World."
After speaking, Gamos raised his hand, and an energy sphere ten meters in diameter flew into the high sky. The next second, countless energy beams erupted from the sphere, raining down as if they had eyes of their own.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh. Countless beams fell like raindrops into the city, precisely striking every resurrected person. In an instant, the Earth turned into a purgatory, and those who had been revived returned to Other World immediately.
"You, you, you!"
The Guardian looked at the young boy in horror. Despite his young age, he was so ruthless; facing billions of lives, he killed them without a second thought.
"They aren't truly resurrected. The chaos in the rules of life and death simply caused a temporary revival. If they remain alive, they will only cause harm, or even death, to those who are truly living."
The Guardian sighed. He understood this, of course, but seeing so many people killed at once still left him feeling deeply moved.
Cell completed his mission and flew directly to the Lookout, with the three incapacitated Saiyans in tow.
"Boss, these are the three, right? I saw they had tails, so they must be Saiyans."
Gamos nodded, then took out a capsule and looked at Mr. Popo.
"I need to borrow the Hyperbolic Time Chamber."
"Please, follow me!"
Seeing that the man possessed no evil aura, Mr. Popo agreed to the request and led Gamos and Cell into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
"The Hyperbolic Time Chamber can only hold two people at a time, and no one can stay inside for more than two days."
Gamos simply waved his hand. "Don't worry. With our strength, we can shatter space to get out."
Mr. Popo was speechless. Very well, rules were merely decorations for the strong; he would just pretend he hadn't said anything.
As the door to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber closed, Mr. Popo looked at the Guardian with a worried expression.
"Guardian, the Earth is in chaos. Humanity was nearly wiped out by the Androids, and now this disaster has occurred. You have only just been resurrected—what are we to do?"
"Don't worry. My evil side, Piccolo, has already begun collecting the Dragon Balls. We can make a wish to Shenron to save the Earth."
Inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Gamos released his entire laboratory and looked at Cell, who was standing to the side.
"Cell, come here!"
Cell jumped, but still trotted over obediently.
"Boss, what are we doing this time? Are you going to draw blood or skin me?"
Seeing the man's cautious appearance, Gamos's mouth twitched. It seemed he had been a bit too heavy-handed earlier.
"Ahem, Cell, what is your dream?"
Hearing the question, Cell was a bit dazed. Did he have a dream? It seemed to be to reach his perfect form and become the strongest existence. But he had already achieved half of that—he had indeed become his perfect form, yet he was not the strongest.
"I used to just think about becoming a perfect form; I didn't really think much beyond that."
Gamos looked at the computer screen on the wall, his hands typing rapidly across the keyboard as the patterns on the display shifted constantly.
"Take a look at this."
Gamos opened a file and displayed it for the other to see.
Cell glanced at it, but it didn't seem like anything special.
"You are an artificial lifeform created by Dr. Gero using the cells of many different individuals, possessing the traits of Earthlings, Saiyans, Namekians, and the Frost Demon race. Theoretically speaking, you are naturally the strongest."
"The reason you must absorb Android 17 and Android 18 to reach your perfect form is that these cells were all collected by Dr. Gero from adults. They contain immense power that an embryo could not withstand, so Dr. Gero extracted a portion of that energy and information, storing it within Android 17 and Android 18."
"Now that you have absorbed them both, you have naturally evolved into your perfect form. But do you know? They haven't died; they remain inside you. Possessing the traits of multiple races, you are capable of becoming even stronger, yet having Android 17 and Android 18 inside you actually restricts your growth."
"Cell, the universe is vast, and there are many powerful beings out there. Do you want to follow me, see a wider world, and witness the even stronger existences in the universe?"
Gamos wore the expression of a big bad wolf coaxing a little rabbit, and Cell felt his blood boil with excitement as he listened.
"I do!"
Cell, caught in the heat of the moment, blurted it out immediately.
However, the moment the words left his lips, he suddenly shivered, only to see Gamos looking at him with a cryptic smile.
Before he could even react, Gamos had already smashed a fist into him.
