History

Konoha was founded by Senju Hashirama alongside Uchiha Madara. While Hashirama treated the Uchiha equally with the village's other clans, Tobirama Senju regarded them as unstable and dangerous, placing them under surveillance and assigning them to the resented Police Force. This institutional hostility persisted across generations. 390

After the Nine-Tails Incident and the Fourth Hokage's death, the Uchiha Clan became the primary suspects because the Sharingan could control the Nine-Tails. Shimura Danzō subsequently worked to eliminate the clan, contributing to the circumstances behind the Uchiha Clan Downfall Night. 390

Uchiha Ye's defection and the clan's destruction produced two S-rank Konoha missing-nin: Ye and Uchiha Itachi. Other great villages dispatched agents into the Land of Fire to seek them out. 7

Ye later infiltrated Konoha, abducted Anko Mitarashi, and devastated the village's gate and defense facilities. His attack killed dozens of shinobi, severely wounded nearly a hundred more, and left Akimichi Chōza's right arm crippled. 72 74 75 76

Konoha hosted the Five Kage Summit at Henga Mountain, where Uchiha Ye announced the establishment of the Light Hidden Village. The event ended with the Tsuchikage severely wounded and the new village gaining recognition from three Kage. 84 88 89

During the Chūnin Exams held in Konoha, Orochimaru killed the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen. The village suffered a leadership crisis until Tsunade returned and became the Fifth Hokage, rapidly stabilizing its administration and Anbu. 263 264 268

Konoha later joined the other great villages in the Allied Shinobi Forces' campaign against the Light Hidden Village. After the other villages surrendered and Konoha's forces suffered severe losses, Tsunade formally surrendered Konoha to Uchiha Ye. 276 309

Following the war, Konoha's shinobi were relocated and reassigned within the Light Hidden Village. The former village was ultimately dissolved during the complete fusion of the Five Great Shinobi Nations. 330 335

Organization

• Intelligence Division — Led by Yamanaka Inoichi during the Chūnin Exams; handled security, guest reception, and order maintenance. 233
