"Nine-Tails."

"One of the calamities of the ninja world, it plagued the world and symbolized evil, destruction, and hatred."

Kushina looked at the legends about the Nine-Tails that she had found.

This was her fate, a fate she could not escape.

"Kushina."

Kushina was hiding in her room when the voice she had wanted to hear suddenly reached her ears.

It was a very youthful voice, yet it brimmed with boundless hope.

—Yueshu.

Kushina got out of bed, pulled open the curtains, and looked outside.

Outside the window stood four people.

One adult and three children.

The one who had just called her stood there with a lazy expression.

It was no surprise. That was simply his nature. At least his voice had carried over, hadn't it?

"It's mission time, Kushina."

Mikoto waved and called out softly.

"I didn't expect it to be another C-rank mission. There won't be any accidents this time, right, Jiraiya-sensei?"

Minato Namikaze glanced at Jiraiya, who was looking around.

Jiraiya merely waved a hand, wearing an expression that said, "Nothing can go wrong with me here."

"No. Not all of Konoha's C-rank missions involve freaks. Last time was just an accident."

"Though the same 'accident' happened on your very first mission."

Yueshu added blandly from the side.

Minato Namikaze then looked at Jiraiya with distrust, while Mikoto did the same. Kushina, meanwhile, prepared to come down.

"Ahem."

"Would a teacher lie to his students? There definitely won't be any problems this time. Besides, last time wasn't my fault either."

Jiraiya put on a righteous expression.

After all, he could barely handle another incident like that himself.

An S-rank mission was no joke. With three Kage-level enemies like last time, even Jiraiya would have a hard time dealing with them, though he could still escape.
