Flying Dragons, Subdragons, and Dragon Beasts (Third Update, Bonus Chapter for Alliance Leader "Big Ears Catch the Wind" 1/12)
This chapter is an extra chapter for the reward given by the alliance leader "Big Ears Catch the Wind".
I still owe the Alliance Leader a total of twenty bonus chapters, as well as other bonus chapters. I've kept them in mind and will make them up slowly!
The five enormous skeletons left behind by unknown creatures must have some extraordinary use, which Liszt hasn't discovered yet. He wanted to collect the bones and store them in the Space Gem, but unfortunately, the bones were too big to fit, and besides, they were stuck in the Rock and couldn't be pulled out.
"Professor Marcus, remember to arrange for someone to dig them out if possible, and to preserve them in place if not."
"Clear."
"Also, send someone to collect all the bone fragments on this ground and transport them back to Flower Town on the Flower... I was just planning to open a bone craftsman's shop in Flower Town anyway."
Marcus nodded in agreement, "These bone fragments are indeed suitable for forging fine bone weapons. With the quantity of fragments here, the serfs of Flower Town will no longer lack farming tools, and the patrol teams and Bug Protection Team can also get a couple more bone weapons."
Speaking of bone organs...
Liszt suddenly remembered that he had a Dragon-Settling Bone in his Gemstone Space. According to Kosto, the Dragon-Settling Bone should be made from the bones of a high-level Dragon-Blood Magic Beast.
"Professor Marcus, do you remember the Dragon-Settling Bone?" He patted the massive bone and said, " The Dragon-Settling Bone is rumored to be the skeleton of a high-level Dragon-Blood Magic Beast, but compared to the bone before us, the difference is immense. I don't believe the gap between a super-level Dragon-Blood Magic Beast and a high-level Dragon-Blood Magic Beast is this vast."
This contradicts previous speculations.
Marcus, clearly remembering this, frowned. "Dragons have been ruled out, and super Dragon-Blood Magic Beast have also been ruled out, so what creature left behind these five bones?"
In the short term, this is destined to remain unanswered.
As the sun was about to set, the group had to leave the valley and return to their temporary base. They wouldn't have to sleep on the boat that night; Dousen had been dragged away by Liszt to a quieter spot where his snoring was gone, allowing him a peaceful night's rest.
However, he was lying on a hard wooden bed.
Liszt did not go to sleep immediately; he was still thinking about bones.
"Five decaying bones indicate an ancient era and the existence of an extremely powerful creature. Besides dragons, the only other creature fitting this description is the legendary super Dragon-Blood Magic Beast. According to the classification of magical creatures by enthusiasts, super Dragon-Blood Magic Beast are second only to dragons."
Super Dragon-Blood Magic Beast still make frequent appearances in many knight novels.
However, they have another name – Yalong.
All other high, medium, and low-level Dragon-Blood Magic Beast are collectively called dragon beasts.
Some knightly novels even consider dragons to be a type of magical beast, forcibly classifying them as "flying dragons." They also forcibly group flying dragons, wyverns, and dragon beasts together as a single species.
This undoubtedly diminishes the noble lineage of dragons, so this type of chivalric novel is not popular and belongs to a niche category. Liszt also disagreed; he dreamed of riding a dragon, and to be told that dragons were merely magical beasts was to tarnish his lofty ideals.
This kind of chivalric romance should be banned!
"So, it's not a dragon, nor a sub-dragon, so what exactly are these five bones?" Thoughts swirled in his mind, various ideas constantly surfacing.
Then pause briefly to analyze the right and wrong.
"Warriors are magical beasts, and it's hard to say whether they even exist, so we should rule them out first... Among the dragons, I've ruled out Gem Dragon, Metal Dragon, and Elemental Dragon, but that leaves Holy Dragon ... Could it be Smoke Dragon?" He immediately thought of his cheat ability, the Smoke Mission that was linked to his fate.
He has always believed that the Smoke Mission was a product of the Smoke Dragon.
But he's more inclined to believe he encountered the Smoke Dragon Smoke Dragon as a child and was subsequently infected. Now, a new thought arises, "What if the Smoke Dragon died, and its Magic Power infected me, creating the Smoke Mission? And it died on Black Horse Island, infecting a herd of Black Blood Steed?"
An idea cannot be said to lack logic and rationality.
But upon closer reflection, something seemed illogical. After all, the bones had already decayed, perhaps thousands or tens of thousands of years ago; there was no reason for them to suddenly infect a little kid on the neighboring Coral Island. In his predecessor's memories, apart from Red Crab Island and Beer Island, he had never been to any other islands.
Not to mention Black Horse Island, which was only recently discovered.
Furthermore, descriptions of the Smoke Dragon generally state that it is a cloud of Smoke, with no mention of bones or flesh. After it dies, it will likely simply vanish into thin air.
There's no reason to leave behind such skeletal remains.
"It shouldn't be Smoke Dragon, and the Invisible Dragon doesn't match either; Invisible Dragon are very small... Fairy Dragon? That can't be right; Fairy Dragon have infinite lifespans and can't die... Dusk Dragon? Emerald Dragon?"
I still can't figure it out.
After one night.
The next day at dawn, he rode Lightning again to the valley to examine the bones.
The serfs who settled on Black Horse Island quickly formed teams and arrived, beginning to collect every bone fragment on the ground, pack them up, and transport them to the temporary base. Marcus, on the other hand, led another team to dig up four more bones to see if they could dig them out and get a glimpse of the skeleton's full form.
Although these bones did not become fossils, they did lose some of the properties of bone.
Dousen, that bone-loving guy, showed absolutely no interest in the bone fragments on the ground. He followed behind Liszt, eyeing King Lightning with predatory intent, drool dripping onto the ground.
Horse King Lightning ignored Dousen and leisurely nibbled on the grass roots on the ground.
Not far away, a herd of Black Blood Steed grazed on the hillside. Every now and then, a Black Blood Steed would raise its head and look in the direction of Lightning, still following Lightning's lead.
"Sir, we've only dug halfway down the second bone when we encountered another layer of Rock and can't dig any further," Marcus reported as he approached.
"It seems that beneath the mud of Black Horse Island lies only Rock." Liszt walked towards the new pit, jumped to the bottom, and stepped onto the solid Rock.
He crouched down, reached out and brushed the dirt off the Rock, trying to get a closer look at what kind of Rock it was.
However, he didn't know much about Rock; he just felt that this kind of stone was quite hard and seemed to have densely packed small holes on it, like air bubbles.
"Bubble?" Suddenly, I felt like I remembered something, but I couldn't quite grasp the inspiration.
So he ordered the serfs who were preparing to dig up the third bone, "Expand this pit, I want to see more Rock." He didn't believe the Rock layer was a single Rock; there must be fractures where he could pry open a section and study it carefully.
As expected.
After the serfs widened the exposed Rock face at the bottom of the pit, Liszt saw the gaps between the Rock.
But as the pit was expanded and the soil was removed, more and more Rock surfaces were exposed. He was surprised to find that these Rock were actually very orderly, like hexagons the size of washbasins. Moreover, the Rock were distributed at different heights, like a set of steps.
"This..." Liszt finally grasped the inspiration that had just struck him, "It's Rock!"
