Background / History

In her previous life, Bibi Dong was the Empress of the Spirit Empire and the vessel of the Rakshasa God. After dying in the year 2655 of the Douluo Calendar, she awakens in Sunset Forest as a ten-thousand-year Death Demon Spider—forty-three years in the past, during the year 2612. Learning that her younger self is still seventeen and has not yet suffered her future tragedies, she resolves to alter that fate. 1

Unable to safely return to Spirit City as a soul beast, she chooses Ling Feng as her means of intervention. She offers him her soul ring in exchange for a promise: he must join Spirit Hall, approach the younger Bibi Dong, and persuade her to leave Spirit Hall to gain experience before Qian Xunji can harm her. 1

Bibi Dong carries out a sacrifice using the inherited methods of her Death Demon Spider body. Her sacrifice raises Ling Feng from level 30 to level 33, grants him a ten-thousand-year third soul ring and the Eight Spider Lances, and leaves her remnant divine soul intact. Rather than dwelling in his soul ring, she enters his newly opened spiritual sea and creates a residence resembling the Pope Palace. 2

For a month, she pretends to be dormant while secretly observing Ling Feng’s conduct. His diligence and integrity persuade her that he can be trusted with the task of changing her past. Upon reaching Spirit City, she reveals that she is the reincarnation of the God of Rakshasa, though she continues to conceal that she is the future Bibi Dong. 5

Appearance

Rakshasa Bibi Dong has appeared in several distinct forms, reflecting her reincarnation, divine identity, and remnant-soul state. 1 17 18

  • Death Demon Spider form — A ten-thousand-year spider soul beast with several glowing green eyes, poisonous green bristles, and a death aura that withers surrounding vegetation. 1
  • Rakshasa God form — Slender build, black beaded armor, cyan-purple skin, exposed fangs, and an oppressive evil aura; carries the Rakshasa Divine Scythe on her back. 17
  • True human appearance — A mature and elegant Bibi Dong with long hair, a bright golden dress, and a noble presence distinct from her younger self. 18
  • Mental-space environment — Often manifests a blood pool and a space saturated with killing intent, bloodlust, desire, and depraved Rakshasa energy. 17 30

Personality

Bibi Dong is calculating, proud, and highly focused on correcting the failures of her former life. Her rebirth changes her outlook: she no longer recreates the bloody environment of the Capital of Slaughter in her spiritual dwelling, and she regards her second chance as an opportunity to save her younger self from the suffering she endured. 2

She is initially cautious of Ling Feng and tests his character before confiding more in him. As his mentor, she can be demanding and theatrical, but she consistently rewards his usefulness and invests her scarce divine power into his growth. 5 18 24 25

Her past attachment to Yu Xiaogang has largely faded. Observing his behavior without the emotional biases of her former human body leads her to question both his motives and his spirit theories. 8 10 17

Despite her desire to protect her younger self, she remains vindictive toward figures connected to her past. She orders Ling Feng to manipulate Liu Erlong—whom she calls the reincarnation of an enemy—as part of a revenge scheme, showing that her old grudges have not entirely disappeared. 36 37

Abilities & Skills

Divine Soul and Spiritual-Sea Manipulation

As a remnant of a god-level soul, Bibi Dong survives a soul-beast sacrifice without losing consciousness and resides independently within Ling Feng’s Sea of Consciousness. 2

  • Communicates telepathically with Ling Feng. 1 2
  • Opens Ling Feng’s spiritual sea, raising his spiritual strength to the level associated with high-level Soul Sects. 2
  • Creates and reshapes her own mental residence, including a replica of the Pope Palace and a Rakshasa-themed blood-pool realm. 2 17
  • Draws Ling Feng’s consciousness into his mental sea and ejects him when necessary. 17 18

Death Demon Spider Sacrifice

Bibi Dong uses her Death Demon Spider bloodline inheritance to sacrifice herself to Ling Feng while preserving her remnant consciousness. 2

  • Grants Ling Feng a ten-thousand-year third soul ring. 2
  • Raises Ling Feng’s soul power from level 30 to level 33. 2
  • Alters his Demon Spider martial soul with Death Spider Poison traits. 2
  • Creates and merges the Eight Spider Lances external soul bone into him. 2

Rakshasa Visualization Method

Bibi Dong provides the core concept for Ling Feng’s personalized cultivation method: visualizing the Rakshasa God rather than using an ordinary spirit as the focus of meditation. 17

  • Allows practitioners to temper spiritual power. 18
  • Generates faith that can restore Bibi Dong’s divine power. 18 20 21
  • Is particularly compatible with sinister, poisonous, and evil-oriented martial souls. 20 26
  • Can corrupt the practitioner’s mind by amplifying bloodlust, depravity, and desire. 20 23
  • Must not be openly associated with the Rakshasa God, lest the current Rakshasa God in the God Realm detect its spread. 18 21

Rakshasa Divine Empowerment

After recovering enough faith-derived divine power, Bibi Dong tempers Ling Feng with Rakshasa power. 24 25

  • Evolves Ling Feng’s martial soul into the god-tier Rakshasa Spider Emperor. 25
  • Awakens Ling Feng’s Rakshasa Domain, which suppresses enemies, corrodes souls and bones, and stirs evil thoughts. 25
  • Evolves Ling Feng’s Fiery Golden Eyes into the mental-attack skill Soul-Eating Light. 25
  • Completely refines Ling Feng’s Eight Spider Lances, reducing their soul-power consumption and preventing others from using them if stolen. 25
  • Carries severe mental risks: the recipient must endure trials of murderous intent and desire without losing their original nature. 25

Bestowal of the Asura Demon Sword

Bibi Dong later uses her remaining divine power to give Ling Feng a second martial soul: the Asura Demon Sword. 47

  • The sword is described as the personal weapon of the Asura God, the God Realm’s Judge. 47
  • Bibi Dong intends for the martial soul to give Ling Feng a chance to inherit, or at minimum become connected to, the Asura God’s legacy. 47
  • The bestowal exhausts her available divine power. 47

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Rakshasa Divine Scythe — Divine weapon manifested on the back of her Rakshasa God form. 17
  • Pope Palace residence — A mental construct within Ling Feng’s Sea of Consciousness, modeled after the Spirit Hall Pope Palace. 2
  • Rakshasa God visualization image — The mental image used as the foundation of the Rakshasa Visualization Method. 17 20

Relationships

  • Ling Feng — Bound partner and student. She sacrifices herself to become his third soul ring, resides in his spiritual sea, mentors his cultivation, and relies on him to spread faith for her recovery. 1 2 18 25
  • Bibi Dong — Her younger past self. Rakshasa Bibi Dong’s central goal is to prevent her from repeating the tragedies of the original timeline. 1 2
  • Yu Xiaogang — Former emotional attachment whom she now views with regret and growing suspicion after witnessing his jealousy, cowardice, and self-serving behavior. 8 10 17
  • Liu Erlong — Identified by Rakshasa Bibi Dong as the reincarnation of an enemy from her past life; she initially attempts to use Ling Feng to hurt her through romance and abandonment. 36 37
  • Rakshasa God — The deity whose vessel she once was. She fears that openly spreading Rakshasa-based cultivation methods may attract the god’s attention. 1 18 21
  • Asura God — A divine rival whose legacy she attempts to divert to Ling Feng through the Asura Demon Sword martial soul. 37 47

Story Role / Major Arcs

Rebirth and Sacrifice

Rakshasa Bibi Dong’s rebirth creates the story’s central divergence from her original fate. By sacrificing her soul-beast body to Ling Feng, she gains a capable agent in the past while avoiding the long cultivation period she would need to return to human form herself. 1 2

Spirit City Intervention

She directs Ling Feng into Spirit Hall and engineers his meeting with the younger Bibi Dong. Her guidance enables him to enter the Spirit Academy, gain the younger Bibi Dong’s trust, and become involved in cultivation theories relevant to her twin martial souls. 5 10 11

Creation and Spread of Rakshasa Faith

Bibi Dong helps Ling Feng formulate the Rakshasa Visualization Method, then discovers that practitioners’ faith restores her divine power. To avoid attracting divine attention, she supports the anonymous spread of the technique and allows Yu Xiaogang to become its public scapegoat. 17 18 21 23

Empowering Ling Feng

Once faith recovery provides enough power, she transforms Ling Feng’s martial soul and grants him the Rakshasa Domain. Her investment makes him strong enough to pursue the Capital of Slaughter and eventually receive the Asura Demon Sword as a second martial soul. 24 25 47

Protection of Her Younger Self

Rakshasa Bibi Dong regards the younger Bibi Dong as the reason for her rebirth. She supports Ling Feng’s plan to bring the younger Bibi Dong to the Capital of Slaughter, believing the location can protect her from Qian Xunji and help her gain the power to avoid her original fate. 24 47

Trivia

  • Her mental residence resembles the Pope Palace rather than the Capital of Slaughter because death changed her state of mind and allowed her to let go of much of her past. 2
  • Ling Feng correctly suspects her identity after she identifies herself as the reincarnation of the God of Rakshasa, but she does not initially state outright that she is the future Bibi Dong. 5
  • She considers Ling Feng’s potential high enough that, after surviving the Rakshasa divine-power trials, reaching level 96 should not be a problem for him. 25
