When the Great Ming Empire's envoy passed through the city, he refused to kneel, maintaining that he was a Heaven Dou citizen with no duty to salute another state. After catching a guard's whip with his Mysterious Jade Hand, he was kicked down by the envoy's black-robed bodyguard. 85

His father, Tang Hao, entrusted Yu Xiaogang with Tang San's care and left a Clear Sky Sect token for him. Tang Hao instructed that Tang San should return to the Clear Sky Sect once he was strong enough to attach entirely black, ten-thousand-year soul rings to his second martial soul. 96

Tang San was raised and trained by Yu Xiaogang at Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy. At age eight, he represented the Heaven Dou Empire in the Youth Potential Cup, where he established himself as a leading young control-type Soul Master despite the perceived weakness of Blue Silver Grass. 124
