Background / History
The Lord of the Divine Court was tied to the Heaven-Earth Dragon Convergence, a Heavenly Dao arrangement intended to place the Supreme True Dragon upon the board of history. Once mature, this True Dragon was meant to command the Divine Court and inaugurate a new era. The First You Emperor defeated and drove back the future Lord, interrupting the convergence, though this did not prevent the Lord's eventual emergence. 653 654 662
His true identity is the Ancestral Dragon, an existence originating beyond this world. He established the Future Divine Court not as an end in itself, but as a tool for opening a gateway between the outer universe and this world, allowing the Source of Heavenly Dao to descend completely. He intended to merge with his true body afterward and return to the world beyond; in his view, the Divine Court and its Three Realms would then no longer matter. 884
The Divine Court he created governs the Heavenly Realm, Mortal Realm, and underworld through rigid law, divine appointments, surveillance, and karmic oversight. Its gods regulate phenomena ranging from reincarnation and punishment to local mortal affairs, while the Nine Heavenly Kings administer the system in practice. 767 771 903 909
The Lord deliberately distributed authority among competing subordinates. Zhenyu Heavenly King and Ksitigarbha Holy Emperor were positioned to check one another in the underworld, while the Nine Heavenly Kings were kept in perpetual rivalry and unable to unite against him. 916 935 999
Appearance
The Lord ordinarily conceals his true form so thoroughly that even the Nine Heavenly Kings do not know it. His known manifestations include a violet dragon, an exceedingly thin shadow, and a white-robed, long-haired figure. 653 662 883 885
- True form — the Ancestral Dragon, also identified with the Supreme True Dragon. 884 1022
- Shadow manifestation — a faint, fragile shadow left at the Duluo Gate; it could perform only one move. 883
- Supreme True Dragon state — his complete and most dangerous state, described as having no apparent weakness. 956
- Cyclical imperfection — like the waxing and waning moon, he periodically falls into an incomplete state in which injuries are magnified. 956 967
Personality
The Lord of the Divine Court is secretive, domineering, and profoundly distrustful. He rules from behind the scenes, rarely meeting even his most powerful servants directly, while ensuring that their ambitions become tools of mutual restraint. 860 935 999
He views the Divine Court as an instrument rather than a sacred obligation. His offer to make He Ping the sole Heavenly King—and later the next Lord of the Divine Court—was motivated by his willingness to discard the existing Heavenly Kings once they no longer served his purpose. 883 884
His belief that he stands above all beings manifests in an absolute conception of authority: he claims the right to elevate mortals into gods, strip gods of office, and reward or punish all living things. 1022 1023
Abilities & Authority
Emperor Heart Dragon-Commanding
The Lord's foundational supreme art is an emperor-like method of commanding subordinates and harmonizing opposing powers. It can suppress those empowered under his system and reflects his control over the Divine Court's hierarchy. 940 990 1030
- Suppresses the power of the Nine Heavenly Kings through restrictions embedded in their authority. 1030
- Enhances his manifestations with an aura likened to the omnipresence and inevitability of the Source of Heavenly Dao. 1030
- Serves as the model He Ping studied to control the powers of Luan Sheng and Chenling Heavenly Kings. 990
Great Dream Soul Soil
A dream-based Dao art that lets him move between illusion and reality. Its ultimate technique, Soul-Extinguishing Butterfly Startles the Dream Uncrossed, evolves the dreams of countless beings into a force capable of shaking the Nine Nethers and Ten Lands. 707
- Blurs the boundary between dreams and reality. 653 707
- Is regarded as one of the few arts that could seriously threaten even the You Emperor. 707
- Was later studied by He Ping as a means to protect the Three Realms' spacetime. 1035
Form-Grasping Myriad Dimensions
An authority-based art with no fixed form; the Lord's intent itself becomes its formula and divine ability. It embodies his command over Heaven, Earth, office, life, and death. 1023
- Can elevate mortals into Orthodox Gods. 1022
- Can demote gods and strip immortals of rank or station. 1022
- Represents his exclusive sovereign authority within the Divine Court system. 1023
Temporal Control and the Temple of Myriad Laws
The Lord personally refined the Temple of Myriad Laws, a Great Thousand supreme treasure that functions as the core of his control over future time and the Three Realms. 767 900 999
- Blocks immortals and gods of the past from observing or reaching the future timeline. 767
- Allows Divine Court powers to project their wills into earlier eras. 767
- Holds the highest authority over the Temple; normally, only the combined authority of all Nine Heavenly Kings could contest its spacetime prohibition. 900
- Was designed around a larger scheme in which the Three Realms themselves function as a vast ship enclosed by a spacetime barrier. 999
Supreme True Dragon Power
When complete, the Lord's Supreme True Dragon form possesses power beyond ordinary peak True Immortals. The First You Emperor could drive him back, but could not grievously wound him. 653 956
- Manipulates heaven, earth, time, and space with a single activation of his power. 940
- Slaughtered descending wills and immortal spirit bodies sent by numerous ancient powerhouses to oppose him. 938
- Cannot remain complete indefinitely because of his cyclical imperfect state. 956 967
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Temple of Myriad Laws — Great Thousand-level supreme treasure and temporal barrier refined by the Lord; embodies his will and provides the Nine Heavenly Kings with a source of power. 767 900 967
- Immortal-Slaying Gourd — forged from the refined wills of several Seven Star Gods, the Heavenly Escape Killing Sword, and the Five Prisons Flying Swords; a weapon of divine punishment capable of slaying gods and immortals. 1022
- Compass-like treasure — formed from three treasures refined from cultivators of the Three Primordial Dao Gates; primarily used to cast down gods and banish immortals. 1021 1022
- Eye of the Ancestral Dragon — contains the final strand of Lesser Heavenly Dao power; later given to Huanglou Heavenly King by the Dragon of the Shoreless. 1052
Relationships
- First You Emperor — principal rival; the You Emperor defeated and repelled his future Supreme True Dragon form, then reversed time to oppose the Divine Court's future order. 653 654 767
- He Ping — adversary and potential instrument. The Lord offered him the position of sole Heavenly King and later the title of next Lord of the Divine Court in exchange for cooperation. 883 884
- Nine Heavenly Kings — his highest administrators, empowered through the Temple of Myriad Laws but deliberately kept divided; most harbored ambitions to replace him and eventually rebelled. 662 900 1029
- Huanglou Heavenly King — deputy and intelligence chief, described as the Heavenly King most closely connected to the Lord; nevertheless, Huanglou also considered betrayal. 860 886
- Zi Biluo — former collaborator who later opposed him alongside He Ping's group; the Lord regarded her actions as betrayal. 1020
- Little Stone Buddha — a major historical opponent whose Great Awakening Golden Nature and gathered imprints of ancient experts posed a threat to the Divine Court's order. 1024 1027 1030
- Wu Yousheng — described as another face of the Lord of the Divine Court. 1059

Duluo Gate Encounter
