Shrek Academy is a major force in Shrek City, a super-metropolis whose prosperity is supported by elite soul-guidance educational resources and powerful organizations including the Academy, the Spirit Pagoda, and the Tang Sect. 1

Sea God Pavilion

The Sea God Pavilion serves as Shrek Academy's highest decision-making body. Its members are prominent continental powerhouses, led by Pavilion Master Bei Dexun, the demigod-level Heavenly Favor Douluo. 25

First-Year Final Examination

Shrek's first-year examination requires students to travel from Shrek City to Heaven Dou City within fifteen days without money or supplies. They must pass through at least ten cities and defeat an opponent at least five cultivation levels above themselves in each city. 22

The examination is intended to test comprehensive survival and combat ability, including obtaining food and lodging, finding suitable opponents, and handling transportation. 22 However, students frequently provoke local soul masters and Spirit Pagoda branches to create challenges, causing repeated friction with the Spirit Pagoda. 22 24

Story Role / Major Arcs

Interception of the Seven Luminaries

During Shrek's first-year examination, the Spirit Pagoda deployed its Seven Luminaries Team to intercept Shrek students traveling toward Heaven Dou City. The operation resulted in twenty-two recorded victories by the Spirit Pagoda team against Shrek students. 22 25

The Sea God Pavilion viewed the operation as interference with Shrek's examination. Rather than dispatch senior members, Bei Dexun arranged a public duel between Shrek's seven strongest first-year students and the Seven Luminaries Team. 25

Heaven Dou City Public Duel

The Heaven Dou City duel opened with individual matches. Qiangu Dongfeng defeated Yu Momo, and Qiangu Qingfeng defeated Han Xiao; Shrek then skipped the third individual match in favor of the team battle. 26

In the seven-on-seven battle, Shrek's formation deteriorated after Ning Xia was disabled and could no longer provide support. The Seven Luminaries ultimately defeated all seven Shrek representatives. 27 28

Following the loss, Long Yeyue accused Xiao Cheng of being an Evil Soul Master because of his dark-attribute power and attacked him on the arena. Leng Zhaoran intervened, and Xiao Ran later wounded Long Yeyue with the Void Nirvana Nail, forcing her retreat. 29 30

Shrek's teachers and students were detained by the Spirit Pagoda after Long Yeyue withdrew. The public defeat and subsequent demigod battle damaged the Academy's reputation across the continent. 30

Spirit Ascension Platform Conflict

During the riot period of the Spirit Ascension Platform, five Shrek Academy students attempted to seize spiritual energy from Xiao Cheng, Leng Yaozhu, and Leng Yulai. The Shrek group was defeated. 36

Later, seven elite Shrek students—identified as the future Shrek Seven Devils—attempted to hunt the platform's guardian, the Burning Sun Heavenly Dragon. Their mission had been ordered as retaliation intended to make the Spirit Pagoda suffer losses following the Heaven Dou City incident. 37 38

After the guardian was defeated by Xiao Cheng's group, Leng Zhaoran submitted a proposal to strengthen Spirit Ascension Platform supervision. The Spirit Pagoda also issued a formal protest demanding that Shrek Academy restrain its students; Bei Dexun publicly promised an investigation and punishment. 42 44

Ya Li Incident

Bei Dexun arranged a scheme in Shrek City intended to bring the healing soul master Ya Li under Shrek Academy's control. The plan was disrupted when Xiao Cheng, Leng Yaozhu, and Leng Yulai intervened before Yun Ming could rescue her. 46 47

After the failed attempt, Bei Dexun stated that Shrek had removed the people who could expose the operation. Ya Li and Yu Xinlan were subsequently attacked by the evil soul master Mingwu Douluo while leaving Shrek City. 48

Three years later, no direct evidence had established that Shrek Academy collaborated with evil soul masters, but tensions among Shrek Academy, the Spirit Pagoda, and the War God Temple had sharply intensified. 49
