Background / History

Gui Mei was among the people who rescued Lu Chen when he was an infant. Years later, after Lu Chen awakened the god-tier Rugoset martial soul, Bibi Dong immediately ordered Gui Mei to bring the child from the Awakening Temple to the Pope Hall. He accepted without question and departed as a black streak. 3 5

At the temple, Gui Mei appeared without warning, startling the Spirit Hall personnel. He took Lu Chen directly to meet Bibi Dong before Golden Crocodile Douluo could bring him to the Consecration Hall, placing Lu Chen under the Pope's side of Spirit Hall's internal power struggle. 5

After Bibi Dong accepted Lu Chen as her disciple, Gui Mei escorted him to his new residence and arranged for him to stay at the Saintess Hall with Hu Liena. Though usually cold and taciturn, he was briefly unsettled when Lu Chen called him “Grandpa Ghost.” 9 10
