Background / History

Notting Academy is where Tang San first arrives from Holy Soul Village as a work-study student. At its gate, the academy gatekeeper dismisses Tang San's Blue Silver Grass martial soul and insults both him and Old Jack before Tang Wulin intervenes. Tang Wulin then reviews Tang San's certificate and accepts Tang San as his disciple. 1

Tang Wulin completes Tang San's enrollment and temporarily resides at the academy due to his level-59 strength. Although he considers its teaching ordinary, he keeps Tang San enrolled so that Tang San can meet Xiao Wu. 2

The academy becomes the base for Tang Wulin's early instruction of Tang San and Xiao Wu. Director Su calls on Tang Wulin to settle Tang San and Xiao Wu's conflict because the academy does not dare favor Xiao Wu despite valuing and sponsoring her talent. 11

After Tang Wulin and Tang San temporarily leave Notting City, Xiao Wu remains at the academy to cultivate in human society while awaiting Tang Wulin's promised aura-concealing herbs. During this period, Yu Xiaogang repeatedly attempts to recruit her as a disciple. 15 27 39

Tang Wulin, Tang San, and Xiao Wu later return to the academy after their travels. Tang Wulin spends ten days there refining their spirit-skill development, during which Tang San develops a Blue Silver Dragon and Xiao Wu develops a cutting skill comparable to the Eight-Part Light Wheel. 39 42

Yu Xiaogang uses the academy as the center of his attempts to claim Tang San and Xiao Wu as disciples. He summons Flender and Zhao Wuji to remove Tang Wulin, but both Soul Saints are killed by Tang Wulin. Tang San and Xiao Wu then publicly hang the punished Yu Xiaogang at the academy gates before leaving with Tang Wulin for Heaven Dou Royal Academy. 43 44 45

Despite the trio's departure, Yu Xiaogang remains at Notting Academy and continues seeking students to validate his theories and pursue revenge. He eventually leaves Notting City with Liu Erlong and Yu Tianheng and arrives at Shrek Academy, where he is later made its dean. 67 128 138 141
