Background / History

Tang Hao is a Clear Sky Sect powerhouse and the biological father of Tang San. He inherited the Clear Sky Hammer, which Tang San later learns is also his own second martial soul. Although Tang Hao raised Tang San during his early childhood, Tang San views him as a neglectful drunkard who abandoned his responsibilities despite possessing the power to change their circumstances. 13 15

After secretly observing Tang Wulin's mentorship of Tang San, Tang Hao concludes that Tang Wulin is a more dependable guide than Yu Xiaogang. He entrusts Tang San's education to Tang Wulin, gives him a Pope Token, and leaves, claiming that Tang Wulin can provide the fatherly care Tang San needs. 13

Tang Hao later returns after learning of Tang San's strength, the absorption of a hundred-thousand-year soul bone, and Ah Yin's recovery. He initially considers confronting Tang Wulin directly, but changes course after learning of Tang Wulin's victories over powerful opponents. Instead, he asks Tang Yuehua to bring Tang San to him, intending to use his son as a future means to challenge Tang Wulin. 93 94

His reunion with Tang San fails. Tang Hao attempts to undermine Tang San's faith in Tang Wulin by claiming the latter has ulterior motives, but Tang San rejects him and affirms Tang Wulin as his true father figure. Their confrontation escalates into violence, drawing Dugu Bo into battle. 95 96

During the conflict, Tang Hao admits to using Ah Yin for her soul ring, though he denies trapping her. Qian Renxue orders Ghost Leopard Douluo and Demon Bear Douluo to kill him; Tang Hao survives the combined assault by using Ring Detonation and escapes. Spirit Hall subsequently issues a continent-wide warrant for his arrest. 97 98

Following his escape, the Clear Sky Sect publicly severs its connection with Tang Hao. He subsequently remains in seclusion with Tang Yuehua, who continues to encourage him to reconcile with Tang San despite the latter's open hatred of him. 122 147

Tang Hao later reunites with his grandfather, Tang Chen, after the latter returns carrying the divine artifact Asura Demon Sword. Tang Hao presents himself as a victim of Spirit Hall and Tang Wulin while omitting his own role in Ah Yin's fate. Encouraged by Tang Chen's confidence in the divine artifact, he renews his plans to take Tang San back and to seize Xiao Wu for the Clear Sky Sect. 161 162

Tang Hao, Tang Yuehua, and Tang Chen eventually approach Tang Wulin's group together. Tang San and Qian Renxue immediately confront Tang Hao over Ah Yin and Qian Xunji respectively, while Tang Hao rejects their accusations as slander. 163 164

He presents himself as concerned for Tang San and Ah Yin, but attempts to manipulate Tang San into distrusting Tang Wulin. Tang San regards these efforts with disgust and believes Tang Hao's interest is tied to Ah Yin and the hundred-thousand-year soul bone rather than paternal affection. 95 96

Despite being described as remorseful and self-mocking upon reuniting with Tang Yuehua, Tang Hao remains proud of his strength. Even when surrounded by several Title Douluo, he refuses to yield and relies on decisive, destructive techniques to escape. 94 97
