Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Three-Tomoe Sharingan | 1 | Begins with the original Uchiha Gen’s developed Sharingan. |
| Mangekyō Sharingan | 1 | Awakens through the combination of the original owner’s dying will and his own spirit. Gains left-eye Tsukuyomi, right-eye Divine Grace, and access to Susanoo. |
| Initial Kage level | 2 | Explicitly described as having entered Kage level. Absorbing Second Pillar’s ocular power raises the Divine Grace eye to approximately 25,400 points; the Tsukuyomi eye initially remains at 10,200. |
| Million-point ocular reserves | 2 | Four clan-wide harvesting rounds over one month yield 1,202,450 points, supporting his plan for hundreds of replenished Izanagi activations. |
| Ten-million-point Tsukuyomi | 41 | Uses Tsukuyomi backed by ten million units of ocular power against Danzō. |
| Enhanced Mangekyō beyond ordinary Kage strength | 62 63 | Describes his energy level as exceeding pre-Rinnegan Madara’s, with Yin Release between Madara and Indra. Still considers himself below Six Paths-level opponents. |

| Jōgan transplanted | 110 | Removes his Mangekyō to develop the Jōgan. Temporarily loses ready access to his strongest Tsukuyomi and Izanagi safeguards, relying on Super-Kage-level chakra and Spirit Transformation instead. |
| Jōgan invisibility enhancement | 111 | Another ten million points produces a qualitative improvement: invisibility can now cover people, objects, and ninjutsu. |
| Secondary Body reaches Kage level | 117 | Transplants Divine Grace into the Secondary Body. Despite a million-point ocular-power bonus, its limited chakra leaves it barely at Kage level. |
| Six Paths threshold through the Tenseigan | 171 | After a month of adjustment to Tenseigan-enhanced chakra, reports reaching Six Paths level, though still two tiers below Ten-Tails Madara. |
| Miniature Ten-Tails jinchūriki | 173 | Creates a miniature Ten-Tails from a Ten-Tails fragment using Divine Grace, then seals it into himself and activates its mode. |
| Secondary Body’s Jōgan surpasses the synthesized Tenseigan | 223 | Notes that its Jōgan has grown beyond the synthesized Tenseigan. Exceeding a Nine-Tomoe Rinnegan remains a future possibility, not a confirmed achievement. |
| Undetectable Secondary Body attack | 229 | Defeats Ten-Tails-enhanced Mei before she can attack by placing an unseen blade against her throat; neither her senses nor combat instincts detect the approach. |
Background / History
Transmigration and the Nine-Tails Incident
An Earth-born programmer transmigrates into Uchiha Gen’s body and accepts his new identity. His Mangekyō awakening gives him a means of survival in a world for which he initially lacks a shinobi’s composure 1.
He secretly harvests ocular power from sleeping Uchiha clansmen, beginning with the elderly Second Pillar. Repeating the operation every eight days builds enormous reserves, but the clan’s unexplained weakness prompts medical examinations and surveillance, forcing him to suspend the harvesting 2.
Knowing the Uchiha’s original fate, Gen plans to avoid orders keeping them out of the Nine-Tails battle by camping on Hokage Rock. His subsequent intervention establishes his reputation as a village savior; later passages credit his hundred-meter Susanoo with subduing the Nine-Tails 2 7 24.
Kushina’s Rescue and Forbidden Techniques
Gen identifies Chiyo’s One’s Own Life Reincarnation as a possible means of saving Kushina. He then conditions his further cooperation on access to the Scroll of Sealing, choosing the Spirit Transformation Technique 5 7.
He accompanies Minato to Sunagakure, bluffs that Sasori supplied his intelligence, and implicates Sasori in the Third Kazekage’s death. Kushina is restored using a death-row prisoner, and Konoha and Sunagakure conclude an alliance 8.
Gen later pursues the resurrection technique for himself. Pakura obtains Gangbalang’s hair for a plan involving Orochimaru and reanimation; Gen subsequently spends months practicing the technique, using Izanagi to survive repeated failures 22 60.
Building an Independent Power Base
Gen concludes that the Uchiha cannot safely expand within Konoha: their collective wealth attracts hostility, while other clans and the Hokage faction restrict their growth. He turns toward Koyuki Kazahana and the Land of Snow as an alternative foundation 35 48.
After defeating Kazahana Dōtō with Susanoo, Gen inherits the Land of Snow’s daimyo title through his relationship with Koyuki. Fugaku publicly expels him from the Uchiha clan to appease Konoha’s elders while continuing to protect him 122 124 126.
Gen establishes Hidden Snow Village in Ice Snow City, funds its expansion with lottery income, and recruits Uchiha elders as administrators and instructors. He brings in Tsunade as Minister of Medicine and develops geothermal infrastructure and Chakra Armor alongside the village’s military institutions 125 145 146.
Conflict with Konoha’s Leadership
Hiruzen interprets Gen’s eye surgery as evidence of Mangekyō blindness and begins planning an assassination. In reality, Gen is developing the Jōgan and reorganizing his eyes between his main body and Secondary Body 110 117.
When Shisui demands that he relinquish the daimyo position, Gen suspects Kotoamatsukami and ambushes him. He steals both eyes, kills Shisui, destroys the remains to prevent reanimation, and plants evidence implicating Danzō and Root 129 130.
Following Minato’s death and Hiruzen’s return to office, Gen offers the Uchiha relocation to the Land of Snow but refuses to rescue members unwilling to leave. The conflict eventually culminates in Hiruzen summoning the First and Second Hokage against him; Gen’s hidden Secondary Body kills Hiruzen before he can counterattack 151 186.
Gen then reanimates Hiruzen and orchestrates an attack on the Sarutobi clan through Orochimaru’s control of the resurrected Hokage. Jiraiya later reports that nearly ten thousand Sarutobi clan members died in the massacre 189 190 197.
Six Paths Power and the Land of Snow’s Expansion
Gen recruits surviving Kaguya clan members, resurrects dead children, and trains them as a future military force. His ocular experiments produce Tenseigan users, while miniature Ten-Tails allow him to strengthen companions whose bodies cannot safely support powerful eye transplants 161 162 174.
His faction’s strength forces Akatsuki to reconsider its advantage and distribute Wood Release enhancements among its members. Fugaku later tells the resurrected Madara that Gen defeated Nagato and Black Zetsu and now stands above Super-Kage level 230 232 259.
The Land of Snow eventually seizes other nations’ rear bases during the conflict with Konoha. Their surrender leads to announced plans for a Ninja World Peace Association, advancing the world-unification ambitions Gen had outlined earlier 79 283.
Appearance
- Mangekyō pattern: A five-pointed star or pentagram 1 11.
- Clothing: His early wardrobe consists entirely of garments bearing the Uchiha crest 11.
- Later eyes: Fugaku notices his blue eyes and questions their origin 223.
- Perceived attractiveness: Koyuki is struck by his smile. Fugaku later ranks his looks highly among the Uchiha, while privately attributing part of his appeal to his titles and reputation 36 258.
Personality
Gen is irreverent toward authority and openly rejects the moral arguments of Konoha’s elders. He considers obedience incapable of saving the Uchiha and refuses Minato’s offer to become ANBU Chief because he does not want administrative work or constant political conflict 7 10 16.
His confidence coexists with a realistic assessment of his limitations. He admits that his natural aptitude may be below the Uchiha average, doubts his ability to sustain Guy’s training regimen, and rejects Hashirama-cell transplantation because its risks outweigh an uncertain long-term benefit 60 62 66.
His concern for the Uchiha and his household does not prevent exploitation. He treats clanmates’ ocular power as a renewable resource, manipulates partners through genjutsu, and preemptively kills threats such as Shisui 2 129 130 131.
As a ruler, he delegates routine management but accepts harsh labor demands when they serve his plans. He orders elderly Uchiha instructors to teach thousands of students through Shadow Clones and motivates them with promises of clan security and public recognition 145 146.
Abilities & Skills
Divine Grace
His original right-eye Mangekyō technique transfers ocular power; later passages also establish absorption and storage. Some chapters render its name as Divine Gift 1 110 178.
- Drains power from hypnotized targets and accumulates reserves far beyond a normal Sharingan’s capacity 2.
- Relays excess power between Uchiha members through the paid Dōjutsu Transfer service, allowing Fugaku to replenish his eyes 62 63.
- Supports eye evolution experiments and the cultivation of miniature Ten-Tails 95 169 173.
- Depends on access to substantial ocular-power supplies; the miniature Ten-Tails project renews his reliance on the Uchiha clan 174.
Tsukuyomi and Hypnosis
His original left eye produces Tsukuyomi, an illusionary space in which he controls time and space 1 41.
- Subjects Danzō to a controlled seventy-two-hour experience, with lasting psychological consequences 41 63.
- Creates experiences in which touch and pain feel real 75.
- Uses hypnosis for covert harvesting, ambushes, and psychological suggestions 2 102 129.
- Repeatedly uses Tsukuyomi to pressure romantic partners, including Pakura and Kurenai 8 22 131.
- Requires sufficient chakra and ocular power to sustain extended experiences 22.
Izanagi
Izanagi rewrites unfavorable reality, including death, at the cost of a Sharingan’s sight. Gen uses Divine Grace to replenish the expended eye 2 25 28.
- Sets aside the minimum 3,000-point threshold rather than sacrificing unnecessary reserves 2.
- Survives lethal failures while learning dangerous forbidden techniques 60 98.
- Combines it with resurrection techniques to offset their fatal cost 162 207 223.
- Does not treat survivability as equivalent to victory: before reaching Six Paths level, he doubts whether he can defeat opponents who have undergone that qualitative change 47.
Susanoo
His Mangekyō grants Susanoo, which he amplifies through accumulated ocular power 1 7.
- Deploys a construct over one hundred meters tall during the Nine-Tails Incident 7 24.
- Defeats Kazahana Dōtō with Susanoo 122.
- Manifests a much larger Susanoo inside Tsukuyomi to impress Yukie; its illusion-space scale should not be confused with a documented physical battlefield deployment 75.
Spirit Transformation Technique
Gen selects this forbidden technique from the Scroll of Sealing and masters it through repeated lethal experimentation 7 21 98.
- Used over two hundred Izanagi activations to barely master it 98.
- Travels between Konoha and Sunagakure in spiritual form 21 22.
- Provides enhanced sensory perception, including detection of powerful chakra inside Orochimaru’s residence 51.
- Moves his soul from his main body into the Secondary Body 117.
- Offers to teach it to companions with resurrection available as a training safeguard 67 98.
Jōgan
Gen synthesizes a Jōgan by combining Uchiha ocular power with a high-purity Byakugan. His version differs in appearance from the eye he remembers from the original story 95.
- Possesses invisibility and space-time manipulation 111.
- After enhancement, conceals people, objects, and ninjutsu 111.
- Enables the Secondary Body’s undetected attack on Mei 229.
- Requires further ocular-power investment to continue developing 111.
Tenseigan
Gen creates Tenseigan through ocular-power investment and eventually uses its chakra enhancement to enter Six Paths level 169 171.
- Different recipients require different investments; he attributes Yuko’s greater cost to lower bloodline purity 169.
- Uses Tenseigan development to strengthen Natsu and considers supplying additional eyes to Tsunade 162.
- Treats adjustment and accumulated chakra as necessary parts of reaching the eye’s full potential 169 171.
Secondary Body
A physical second body provides an independent platform for transplanted eyes, training, and survival contingencies 116 117.
- Unlike a Shadow Clone, possesses a physical body that can develop its own strength 116.
- Carries Divine Grace for ocular-power collection while the main body develops other eyes 117.
- Can serve as a rescue option if the main body is sealed 116.
- Performs hidden attacks, including Hiruzen’s assassination 186.
- Initially suffers from inadequate chakra despite possessing powerful eyes 117.
Resurrection Techniques
Gen masters One’s Own Life Reincarnation and uses it with Izanagi to restore the dead without permanently sacrificing himself 60 98 207.
- Resurrects Kaguya children, Nawaki, and Sasuke 162 207 223.
- Uses the Secondary Body to revive Sasuke; the expenditure closes its Tsukuyomi eye and requires further restorative eye surgery 223.
- Charges Fugaku for Sasuke’s resurrection 223.
- Also uses Impure World Reincarnation to reanimate Hiruzen 189.
Kotoamatsukami
Gen steals Shisui’s Mangekyō eyes and later demonstrably uses Kotoamatsukami to alter others’ loyalties 129 130 144 252.
- Uses its influence on Tsunade before recruiting her to the Land of Snow 144 145.
- Reprograms the infiltrator posing as Yamanaka Arashi to protect Konoha, Tsunade, and Gen 252.
- Seeks an Eternal Kotoamatsukami installation for the Secondary Body, though the request itself does not establish completion 130.
Miniature Ten-Tails Creation
Gen uses a fragment of the Ten-Tails and Divine Grace to cultivate smaller tailed beasts suitable for sealing 173 178 180.
- Becomes a miniature Ten-Tails jinchūriki himself 173.
- Produces additional beasts to strengthen Tsunade, Pakura, Kurenai, Mei, and other members of his faction 173 174 178 180 228 260.
- Supplies ten million units of ocular energy during a documented cultivation 178.
- Relies on Uzumaki-style sealing rather than Rinnegan-based absorption 180.
Other Training and Technical Knowledge
- Eight Inner Gates: Obtains the technique from Guy in exchange for covering a year of training costs, but doubts his capacity for the required long-term regimen 66.
- Flying Raijin: Acquires Minato’s technique and notes; the supplied material does not establish Gen personally mastering it 92 118.
- Genjutsu recreation: Recreates games from Earth, including Honor of Kings, Peace Elite, and Genshin Impact 11.
- Strategic foreknowledge: Uses knowledge of the original story to anticipate threats, identify techniques, and influence Orochimaru 25 53.
- False precognition claim: Presents that foreknowledge as a Mangekyō ability to conceal his real techniques 25.

“Gentle words can't save the Uchiha. I have to protect my own crops!” 7
“This is called living true to myself. Who says a strong person has to stand above everyone else? That is merely your own wishful fantasy.” 160
Trivia
- Gen jokes that his five-pointed Mangekyō completes a sequence between Itachi’s three-point, Shisui’s four-point, and Sasuke’s six-point patterns 1.
- He describes his secret ocular-power harvesting as “night classes” and the extracted power as “tuition” 2.
- He establishes Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth as the generational naming order for his descendants, borrowing the idea from Zhu Yuanzhang rather than the ninja world’s usual elemental sequence 68.
