He said, "We just arrived in this city and need a place to stay. Kobayashi, your home is too small. When we go looking for a house, we'll keep an eye out for one for you too. It'd be best if we could become neighbors."

Kobayashi had been living alone, so she had rented the smallest apartment. Now that Tohru and Kanna were joining her, the space was indeed too cramped. After giving it some thought, she took Yuxian's advice and decided to move.

Yuxian noted down Kobayashi's contact information and bid them farewell.

Kanna was somewhat reluctant to see Little Jeanne leave, but when she heard they could become neighbors later, she felt better and waved goodbye to everyone.

After leaving Kobayashi's home, Yuxian led everyone in search of a place to live. Since they had no idea how long it would take to find the Heroic Spirits in this world, they needed a home to settle into.

Mash asked worriedly, "Senpai, do we have money to rent a place?"

Yuxian smiled mysteriously and pulled out a stack of banknotes as if presenting a treasure. "Ta-da! Look what this is!"

Mash asked in surprise, "Where did you get that money, Senpai?"

They had only been in this world for a short while, and Yuxian had been right under her nose the entire time. She could not figure out where he had gotten the money.

"I asked Seitenshi earlier to exchange some older banknotes for me." Yuxian wore an expression that said he had planned this all along. "This is enough money to last us a long time."

Mash was delighted. "Then let's hurry and find somewhere to stay. If we don't find a place soon, we'll be sleeping on the streets tonight."

Yuxian nodded. "Mm, we'll start looking right away. But everyone must be hungry, so let's buy something we can eat while walking. We can look for a house and eat on the way."

It had been a long time since their last meal, and house-hunting might take quite a while. To keep everyone from going hungry, Yuxian decided to buy them food first and let them fill their stomachs.

Chapter Three: If You Can Do It, You Do It

"What's that? It looks delicious."

They spotted a crepe stand by the street. Its aroma drifted over from far away, stirring the little ones' appetites.

"That's a crepe!" Illya was more familiar with such things, so she explained it to everyone.

"Master, let's have crepes!"

"Sure!" Yuxian also wanted to taste one, so he went over and bought some for everyone to eat as they walked.

Eating while walking was not exactly proper etiquette, but it felt rather nice. Everyone ate happily, especially Jack. Her mouth was covered in crumbs again. Compared with the others, she was remarkably careless about that sort of thing.

Yuxian stopped to gently wipe her mouth. Jack obediently stayed perfectly still; she had already become very used to Yuxian taking care of her.

Finding a suitable house was not easy. He took everyone all over the city and looked at several places in a row, but none of them were quite satisfactory.

In the end, Yuxian found a relatively acceptable place and reluctantly rented it. In truth, he would have preferred somewhere quieter, but such houses were exceedingly rare in a bustling city.

The house was fairly good and very spacious, enough for all six of them to live in. Its master bedroom was especially large, which was what pleased Yuxian the most.

He did not need to guess that the little ones would definitely come running into his room. If it were too small, they would not even have room to turn around when crowded together.

There were also two empty rooms left over. It was a large four-bedroom, one-living-room house, and the rent was not cheap.

He had no idea whom they might encounter in this world, so leaving spare rooms for the future was a good idea. That way, when they found someone, they would not have nowhere for them to stay and need to move again.

After renting the house, Yuxian called Kobayashi and told her the exact location, inviting her to come take a look when she had time.

When Kobayashi and Tohru learned that there was a very spacious shared rooftop here, they soon found time to come inspect it. In the end, they nodded in satisfaction and decided to rent a place here as well.

That made Yuxian and Kobayashi's group neighbors.

While Kobayashi needed to move, Yuxian's group only needed to buy some daily necessities from nearby stores before they could settle in.

Every shopping trip was the happiest time for the little ones. Yuxian gave Little Jeanne some money and told them they could buy anything they liked.

Compared with the others, Little Jeanne was the one he trusted most. Illya had been born into a wealthy family and was used to spending lavishly, so she could never hold onto money. Gretel was extremely willful; if he gave her money, she could spend it all on books. As for Jack, there was no need to mention her.

The little ones ran off to look for things they liked, while Yuxian and Mash slowly bought daily necessities around the mall.

The two discussed what they needed while walking along, creating a warm and harmonious scene. Passing strangers all took them for a newlywed couple.

Neither of them realized that they had already developed an understanding between them. They suited one another remarkably well and rarely disagreed.

In the end, Yuxian was still the one carrying huge bags back home. Though he was the weakest among the six of them, he still took the initiative to carry everything to avoid attracting strange looks on the way.

Thankfully, Teacher Chiron had put him through strict training. Yuxian's stamina had improved tremendously. If it had been before, these things would have left him panting and exhausted.

After returning home, everyone worked together to tidy up and arrange the entire house.

It took quite some time before the place felt more like a home. After all, they did not know how long they would be living here, and making themselves comfortable was always necessary.

Kobayashi's group moved in soon afterward. They hired a moving company to pack up and transport the things from their old residence. Yuxian's group happened to have nothing to do, so they went to help them move.

Although the little ones had not been much help, their enthusiasm still made Kobayashi very grateful. She decided to throw a party to celebrate the move.

Kobayashi invited her colleague Takiya, while Tohru invited Fafnir and Elkoya to join the gathering.

The group packed Kobayashi's new home full, and the atmosphere was incredibly lively.

Fake alcohol was harmful.

After drinking, Kobayashi's voice became unbelievably loud. When she got drunk and started making a scene, she was practically a different person. Yuxian was utterly speechless.

Meanwhile, Fafnir had become obsessed with video games. Compared with the gloomy look he had worn when he first entered, he now resembled a gaming-addicted teenager, frantically mashing the controller and battling the monsters on the television screen.

Elkoya's outrageously curvaceous figure kept drawing Yuxian's gaze, but every time, the killing intent beside him interrupted him. He could only pretend to stare straight ahead.

Kanna and Gretel, two gothic lolis, sat side by side. Their adorable appearance was immensely soothing.

Illya was reading them a storybook. She was a little older (?), and she was very interested in playing the role of an older sister.

Little Jeanne was rather curious about Elkoya. After all, Chaldea also had an older sisterly Quetzalcoatl, and the fourth Santa Claus had been a Quetzalcoatl too.

She sat beside Elkoya and chatted with her, curiously asking all kinds of questions.

Elkoya was also fond of Little Jeanne and patiently answered her questions. Although some of those answers seemed like complete nonsense to Yuxian, her utterly serious expression made her hard to doubt.

Jack had originally wanted to cling to Yuxian's side, but he felt that she should be spending time with her friends right now, so he told her to go play on her own.

Little Jeanne was talking to Elkoya. Jack listened for a few moments, blinked her large eyes, and realized she did not understand anything at all, so she walked away.

Gretel and Kanna sat quietly together. Jack went over, but before long she could not sit still. Other than when she was beside Yuxian, Jack was not a child who could stay quiet.

In the end, she went over to Fafnir's side and watched him play.

Another scream rang out from the television, and the words 'You Died!' appeared on the screen. Fafnir gritted his teeth in anger.

"You should jump farther back here," Little Jack suddenly said.

"Huh?" Fafnir was displeased by the white-haired little girl's words. He glared at Jack with fierce eyes.

Jack seemed not to notice at all. The evil aura surrounding Fafnir had not affected her in the slightest.

Fafnir clicked his tongue and continued struggling against the monsters in the game.

"Here, here! To the right! Behind!" Jack began directing him incessantly, pointing all over the screen with her little hand. Veins bulged on Fafnir's forehead as his anger steadily accumulated.

When 'You Died!' appeared on the screen once again, he handed the controller to Jack, his eyes clearly saying: If you can do it, you do it!

Jack innocently took the controller and kept pressing buttons at the screen. "Ah! Oh no! Aah! I died..."

She dejectedly returned the controller to Fafnir. After trying it herself, she had not even lasted as long as Fafnir had before quickly losing.

Fafnir glanced at Jack smugly, as if saying: See? You're even worse than me.

At this moment, he had not realized at all that his initial aversion toward the little girl before him had already vanished.

The two noobs were too painful to watch, so Takiya, who wore glasses, could not stand it any longer. He said, "I'll teach you."

His hands moved skillfully. With a few swift motions, he killed the monster in no time, leaving Fafnir and Jack staring in amazement.

Jack looked at him with sparkling eyes and said, "You're as amazing as Auntie Osakabehime!"

Takiya handed the controller back to Jack and asked curiously, "Osakabehime? Is she a gaming enthusiast too?"

Little Jack tapped a finger against her lips, thought for a moment, and said, "She's a great monster who never leaves the house."

Takiya did not give Jack's words much thought. He took it as some sort of nickname for a shut-in.

Not far away, Yuxian heard Jack's words and softly asked Mash, "Is Osakabehime really that unpopular? Why does Jack call her Auntie? Shouldn't she usually call her Big Sister instead?"

Mash answered helplessly, "Because Jack, Gretel, and the others often go to Miss Osakabehime's room to play pranks and disturb her while she plays games, so she often chases them out."

Yuxian understood. The lolis shut-ins liked were all two-dimensional ones. If there were a real loli standing in front of them, they would probably find her annoying in less than a day.

He declared righteously, "When we find Osakabehime, we absolutely have to make her leave her room. Staying cooped up at home is unacceptable. As her Master, I have a responsibility to make her change this bad habit!"

"Are you a devil?" Mash could not help retorting. She had finally understood just how biased Yuxian was.

Yet when she imagined Yuxian driving Osakabehime out of her room, Mash found herself faintly looking forward to it...

The doorbell rang. The living room was a chaotic mess, with everyone busily doing their own thing amid the lively gathering, so Tohru had no choice but to leave the kitchen to answer the door.

Outside stood a delivery worker in a courier company uniform, with the company logo printed on his cap.

"Excuse me, is this Kobayashi's residence? You have a delivery. Please sign for it." The delivery worker politely held out the package.

This was the gift Yuxian had ordered online during the day as a housewarming present for Kobayashi's family.

The delivery workers really were dedicated. They had brought the package over so late at night; Yuxian had thought it would not arrive until tomorrow.

Tohru accepted the package, staring warily at the courier worker before her. She felt that he gave off an extremely dangerous aura.

"A dragon?" the courier worker asked Tohru in confusion.

Tohru immediately assumed an attacking stance. She pushed off the ground, rushed forward, and threw a powerful punch.

Bang!

The delivery worker met Tohru's fist with his own. The enormous impact startled everyone in the living room, who had no idea what was happening at the door.

"What's going on? What's going on?" Drunk Kobayashi turned her head, her face full of confusion.

"It's fine, Kobayashi. I'll deal with him soon!" Tohru replied confidently, preparing to attack again.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!" Yuxian stepped forward, saw the delivery worker outside clearly, and immediately stopped them.

He hurried between the two of them to separate them and prevent the fight from continuing.

"It's Reindeer Number Two!" Little Jeanne cried in surprise.

"Mr. Siegfried, it's you! This is wonderful." Mash also recognized the delivery worker outside and looked delighted.
