Background / History

Mash is the only person Yuxian finds in Chaldea after its staff, Servants, and Fou vanish without trace. She searches the facility with him, checks Sheba's records, and joins his Spirit Transfer when they decide to seek answers in 1990s Fuyuki City 1.

Stranded without money in Fuyuki, she remains at Yuxian's side through the Fourth Holy Grail War. She supports the search for Chaldea's missing Servants, helps Illya with schoolwork, and insists that Yuxian consult her before making dangerous unilateral decisions 2 3. Her shield identifies her to Artoria as a comrade entrusted with Galahad's power, helping Yuxian secure an alliance with the Einzbern side 4.

During the war, Mash protects Artoria from Berserker Lancelot, shields Yuxian from Gilgamesh's Noble Phantasms, and deploys Lord Camelot to prevent Angra Mainyu's Black Mud from corrupting the group 5 9 11.

As Chaldea's journeys expand across other worlds, Mash continues to accompany Yuxian, the children, and allied Servants. Personality

Mash is consistently caring, earnest, and protective of Yuxian. She worries when he acts recklessly, firmly tells him to discuss dangerous decisions with her first, and repeatedly places herself between him and danger 3 5 55.

Though usually accommodating, Mash can be decisive when necessary. She stops conflicts among the children, proposes Scathach as an impartial arbiter for their competition, and can restore order simply by speaking when Chaldea's residents become unruly 169 217. Her anger is particularly forceful when she believes Yuxian has acted irresponsibly; the children immediately obey her commands and later support her in questioning his fitness as Master 216.

Mash is compassionate toward friends and strangers alike. She worries deeply when Fou disappears, feels hurt when a parallel-world Olga Marie does not recognize her, and warmly welcomes Vignette as a new neighbor 95 126 232.
