Background
Kei is a transmigrator who arrived in the Naruto world as an obscure Uchiha child. In his first year there, Naruto helped him overcome his confusion and develop the desire to belong in the world; Kei thereafter regarded Naruto as both a friend and brother. 7
He was known within the Uchiha Clan for unusual talent, but was also neglected and derided as a “waste.” His parent was identified as Uchiha Tenshi, and Fugaku later acknowledged that the clan had failed the children of its heroes. 3 11 30
At eight years old, Kei entered the Ninja Academy alongside Naruto. He began exploiting the reactions of others through a system that grants Shock Value, exchanging those points for abilities and rapidly surpassing his peers. 1 3 5 7
After years of building influence in Konoha, Kei broke with the village during the conflict surrounding Uchiha Izuna's death and the threat posed by Ōtsutsuki Isshiki. He led the White Bone Clan, the Yang Organization, and the defecting Hyuga Clan against Konoha before establishing Twilight Ninja Village, where he became known as the Twilight Shadow. 98 99 100
Kei's identity is later revealed to be more complicated than his transmigration alone suggests. He encounters alternate versions of himself in his soul world, the Dark Space, and the Netherworld, with one such counterpart being worshipped as the Evil God. 167 192 210 220
Personality
Kei is outwardly lazy, sardonic, and fond of provoking people—particularly Sasuke and crowds whose shock he can convert into power. He is willing to feign incompetence, such as pretending not to know the Three Body Technique during his graduation examination, when doing so serves his interests. 1 12
Behind this unserious demeanor, he is composed under pressure and highly strategic. He assesses Konoha through its competing factions, plans to curb Root from within the Anbu, and coordinates long-term political action with Itachi and Shisui. 8 9 14 42
Kei values strength as the basis of security, but he also protects people he considers his own. He intervened for Naruto against Anbu, aided the White Bone Clan, mentored Hashirama’s group, and genuinely wants Naruto to be happy. 8 21 24 47
Although he initially sought to reform Konoha through political influence, Izuna's death and the looming Ōtsutsuki threat make Kei increasingly ruthless and impatient. He becomes willing to incite war, kill Danzō, and destroy the existing order in pursuit of a stronger future. 98 99 175
Kei retains a reflective and emotionally vulnerable side beneath his confidence. He fears learning truths that may undermine the bonds he has made, struggles with the mystery of his incomplete identity, and repeatedly chooses to confront those fears rather than retreat from them. 177 192 194 220
Abilities & Skills
Shock Value System
Kei receives Shock Value when others are startled, shocked, or emotionally shaken by him, then exchanges it for abilities.
- Used public embarrassment and sudden displays of skill to accumulate points during his Academy and graduation exams. 1 2 12
- Exchanged points for Genin-level chakra, the Three-Tomoe Sharingan, Mangekyō Sharingan, and swordsmanship mastery. 3 5 7
- Continued receiving Shock Value during the Space-Time Mission. 16
- Can use Shock Value to precisely upgrade growth-type abilities, including his chakra, swordsmanship, Rinnegan, and Eight Gates. 50 51 169
- The system can issue Space-Time Missions for high-level rewards, but it has also imposed seals and withheld information regarding Kei's origins. 15 115 150 177
Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan
Kei possesses a Three-Tomoe Sharingan and later a Mangekyō Sharingan with a sword-shaped pattern.
- Uses enhanced perception and genjutsu to immobilize opponents by compelling eye contact. 8
- Can cast Amaterasu; his Mangekyō also grants Amenotokotachi, Omodaru, and Uhijini. 7
- Uhijini can freeze targets in place and turn them into bubbles; Kei used it against a giant tiger, the Hejian Clan’s Black Cavalry, and to rescue Izuna from Seven-Tails Chomei. 16 17 23
- His Mangekyō techniques initially impose a major chakra burden due to his then-Genin-level reserves. 7
- He used the Mangekyō to subdue Naruto’s berserk Nine-Tails chakra and enter Kurama’s seal. 26
- Can manifest Susanoo and combine it with Multi Shadow Clones, creating an army of Susanoo constructs capable of overwhelming Ōtsutsuki Isshiki. 68 111 112
- Omodaru: Time Reversal can restore a target from a soul state; Kei used it to revive Senju Tobirama. 140
- Uhijini possesses deconstruction and creation properties that Kei later identifies as a rudimentary rule-based Power of Creation. 240
Rinnegan
Kei earned the Rinnegan after completing a Space-Time Mission in the Warring States Period. 25
- Its power is described as immense, though Kei feels less absolute control over it in his original timeline than during the mission. 41
- He identifies Shinra Tensei as an available means of repelling pursuers. 32
- Orochimaru is profoundly alarmed upon witnessing Kei’s Rinnegan. 41
- Can use Banshō Ten'in and Shinra Tensei in succession to draw in and repel targets; he used these techniques to overpower Danzō. 199
- Can contend directly with Nagato's Shinra Tensei and demonstrate markedly greater output. 102
- Used Heaven Force Hand to summon a three-headed hound behind the Evil God during their battle. 211
- Can employ Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, which he used to kill Danzō in an altered past timeline. 199
Tenseigan and Truth-Seeking Orbs
Kei can wield the Tenseigan in addition to his Rinnegan.
- Entered Tenseigan Chakra Mode, covering himself in green chakra while manifesting black Truth-Seeking Orbs in the Netherworld. 219
- Relied on his ocular powers and chakra mode when his swordsmanship was suppressed to less than one-tenth of its normal strength in the Netherworld. 219
Fire Release
Kei can use Fire Style techniques despite initially limited chakra reserves.
- Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique — produced a three-meter-wide fireball that incinerated incoming ninjutsu from attacking Anbu. 8
- A Great Fireball consumes approximately one-tenth of his Genin-level chakra at that stage. 8
- Received Fire Style Mastery upon completing his Space-Time Mission. 25
- Can imbue blade attacks with black Amaterasu flames, severely injuring Ōtsutsuki Kinshiki with a black-flamed sword arc. 107
Swordsmanship
Kei’s system-granted swordsmanship mastery makes him a formidable blade user.
- Can shift between mountain-like force and wind-like agility in combat. 19
- Killed Tanaka Ichiro with a blade-aura strike. 20
- His swordsmanship was judged by Hiruzen to rival Hatake Sakumo’s. 37
- Taught Izuna principles of swordsmanship and the way of the blade. 19 20
- Upgraded his original mastery into Swordsmanship Specialization and independently developed a personal Blade Intent centered on cutting all things. 51 108
- Integrates ninjutsu into swordsmanship, creating a combat style distinct from both Mifune's and Hatake Sakumo's conventional blade techniques. 67
- Matched the aged Uchiha Izuna in a clash of blade aura and later surpassed Madara's strongest fire technique with an Iaido Slash. 94 140
- His blade intent has transcended ordinary ninjutsu, allowing him to injure Ōtsutsuki Kinshiki and contend with opponents who can absorb chakra techniques. 107 108
Blade Arts
Kei’s later swordsmanship develops into named blade arts that operate beyond conventional ninjutsu.
- Blade One governs essence, energy, and spirit. It can freeze time in its initial activation and can be applied as a devastating attack on the soul. 171 175 191
- Blade Two possesses unstoppable sharpness; Kei used it to effortlessly defeat the giant octopus guarding Turtle Island. 191 194
- Blade Three possesses immense spatial cutting power and was obtained following Kei's fusion with a younger self. 191
- Kei can employ Blade One, Two, and Three together to overpower the Evil God, though doing so places severe strain on his chakra and mental energy. 211
- His blade arts can create spatial fissures when clashing with an equal counterpart and can open spatial rifts for travel. 192 210
Eight Gates
Kei possesses a no-side-effects version of the Eight Gates.
- Obtained the technique as an Intermediate Ninjutsu reward because its body-focused nature suited his inability to efficiently refine chakra through ordinary training. 115
- Later upgraded it to an always-active state, although the technique was subsequently sealed along with his chakra and other ninjutsu. 169
Karma
Kei inherited the Karma of Ōtsutsuki Kinshiki after Kinshiki died from the aftermath of their battle. 127
- Used genjutsu and the system's tenfold spiritual counterattack to defeat Kinshiki's residual consciousness. 128
- Can activate a silver-white Karma pattern that spreads across half his face and doubles both his physical and spiritual power. 128
Yin-Yang Release
Kei mastered a corrected Yin-Yang Release derived from an ancient text. 21
- Absorbs and refines chakra with both Yin and Yang attributes. 21
- Improved the technique so women of the White Bone Clan could practice it. 21
- Taught the enhanced technique to the White Bone Clan and his students. 21 22
Ninjutsu and Space-Time Techniques
Kei possesses a broad range of high-level ninjutsu beyond his dōjutsu and swordsmanship.
- Uses Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu for combat, misdirection, and the mass deployment of inherited bloodline abilities. 54 104 111
- Can use Rasengan and counter Uchiha Obito's Kamui with it. 63
- Demonstrated Lightning Cutter while instructing Sasuke on using Sharingan dynamic vision in conjunction with ninjutsu. 80
- Can open spatial rifts with blade intent and has traveled through time to interact with younger versions of Naruto and himself. 190 192
- Reversed Sasuke's injuries to their state one day earlier through space-time power. 240
Tactical and Political Acumen
Kei uses prior knowledge and careful planning to influence Konoha’s balance of power.
- Identified major village factions, including the Hokage-aligned forces, clan faction, civilian faction, and Root. 9 14
- Recruited Shisui to support the effort to make Itachi the Fifth Hokage. 9
- Joined the Anbu to counter Root’s influence from within. 14
- Built a commercial empire over three years and used financial backing to support Shisui’s acquisition of three Anbu divisions. 42
- Used Konoha Daily, public opinion, finances, Itachi's popularity, and Shisui's Anbu influence to build an independent political force that could not be easily checked by Konoha's established factions. 76 78 79
- Later orchestrated events surrounding the Fourth Shinobi World War and the resurrection of his former disciples to counter larger threats. 137 138

Story Role / Major Arcs
Academy and Early Graduation
Kei enters the Academy with Naruto, deliberately fails his first shuriken test, then shocks the audience by mastering ninja tools and scoring three bullseyes. He acquires Genin-level chakra and the Three-Tomoe Sharingan through Shock Value exchanges. 1 2 3 5
After awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, he survives an Anbu ambush with Naruto’s support and Shisui’s intervention. Kei then applies for early graduation, theatrically pretends ignorance of the Three Body Technique, demonstrates it successfully, and becomes a formal ninja. 7 8 12 13
Anbu and Uchiha Political Strategy
Kei joins Anbu Ninth Squad and begins developing a plan to make Itachi the Fifth Hokage. He seeks to weaken Root, distribute his allies across Konoha’s institutions, and secure the support of clan and civilian factions. 9 14
He later confronts Fugaku about this plan and gains the clan head’s understanding and support. 30
Space-Time Mission
To obtain the Rinnegan, Kei travels to the Warring States Period. He takes Hashirama, Madara, Tobirama, and Izuna as disciples, protects them from hostile clans and Seven-Tails Chomei, and trains them to Jonin level within half a month. 15 19 23 24
During the mission, he saves the White Bone Clan, improves their Yin-Yang Release, and requires them to remain hidden from the wider shinobi world. After fulfilling the mission, he returns to his original timeline with the Rinnegan, Jonin-level chakra, and Fire Style Mastery. 21 25
Konoha Influence and Team 7
Over the following three years, Kei establishes Konoha Daily and a commercial empire that expands his political influence. His funding helps Shisui gain control of three of the five Anbu divisions. 42
Kei ultimately becomes Team 7’s teacher, replacing the expected appointment of Kakashi. He leaves the Anbu as a result, while continuing to coordinate political action with Itachi and Shisui. 47
Wave Country, Kirigakure, and the Yang Organization
While leading Team 7 to Wave Country, Kei upgrades his chakra and swordsmanship, sees through an ambush disguised as a puddle, and allows Naruto and Sasuke to demonstrate their growing teamwork. 51
He overwhelms Haku and Momochi Zabuza with Fire Release, the Rinnegan, and shadow clones. 54 56 Kei subsequently investigates the Yang Organization in Kirigakure, disrupts the genjutsu controlling Karatachi Yagura, and defeats Uchiha Obito's Kamui with a Rasengan. 63 71
Break with Konoha and the Birth of Twilight Ninja Village
After Uchiha Izuna's death and the emergence of Ōtsutsuki Isshiki as a direct threat, Kei concludes that Konoha's political structure cannot be reformed quickly enough. He declares himself a rogue ninja, forms an alliance with the White Bone Clan and Yang Organization, and is joined by the Hyuga Clan under Hiashi. 98
Kei initiates war against Konoha, kills Danzō in the hospital, and is stabbed by Itachi during the withdrawal of his forces. 99 Five years later, Kei is known as the Twilight Shadow and leads the newly established Twilight Ninja Village, though he routinely avoids administrative work in favor of sleeping and eating. 100
Ōtsutsuki Conflict
Kei identifies Kara and Ōtsutsuki Isshiki as threats that have appeared far earlier than expected. He defeats Ōtsutsuki Kinshiki through superior swordsmanship, unknowingly inheriting Kinshiki's Karma after the battle. 105 107 109 127
When Isshiki attacks, Kei uses Multi Shadow Clones to create an army of Susanoo and severely wounds him, but expends all of his chakra and remains unconscious for three days. 111 112 113 Kei later uses Blade One's soul attack to frighten Isshiki into fleeing through a spatial rift. 175
Second Space-Time Mission and Fourth Shinobi World War
Seeking greater strength against the Ōtsutsuki, Kei undertakes another Space-Time Mission to the Warring States Period. There, he encounters Hagoromo and Hamura and intervenes in the deception surrounding the God Tree. 115
Upon returning, Kei arrives during the Fourth Shinobi World War, prevents Black Zetsu from assassinating Madara, and reunites with the restored Izuna. 137 138 He later confronts Madara directly, defeats his strongest attack, and revives Tobirama to prevent a fatal conclusion to the conflict. 140
Sealing, Death, and Blade Arts
During a later crisis, Kei's chakra, ninjutsu, bloodline abilities, and enhanced physique are sealed, leaving swordsmanship as his primary means of combat. 169 171 He develops Blade One while dueling Mifune and subsequently uses its soul-targeting application against Isshiki. 171 175
White Bone Yu's attempt to break Kei's seal causes a corrosive liquid to invade his body and destroy his organs, resulting in Kei's apparent death. 177 He later reemerges through a series of temporal and spiritual events, acquires Blade Three through fusion with a younger self, and begins uncovering the truth of his fragmented existence. 191 192
Alternate Selves and the Evil God
Kei travels to the past, meets young Naruto, and discovers another version of himself in his soul world, who tells him that he is incomplete and directs him toward the Waterfall of Truth. 192 194
He later faces the Evil God, revealed to be another Uchiha Kei. Their battle with identical blade arts creates spatial fissures and threatens the Shinobi World, but Kei overpowers the counterpart through the combined use of Blade One, Blade Two, Blade Three, and tactical Rinnegan techniques. 210 211
Kei subsequently enters the Netherworld, where Izanami introduces him to an elderly alternate self who possesses knowledge of a catastrophic past shared by multiple versions of Kei. 219 220
