Background / History

Harry begins Hogwarts as a first-year and is sorted into Gryffindor. His name silences the Great Hall during the Sorting Ceremony, and his placement is celebrated by Gryffindor while Slytherin reacts uneasily 12.

He quickly forms a close friendship with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
