Wu Fan opened his eyes groggily. It felt as if a mixer were running wildly inside his head.
Last night's memories still swirled in his mind. A longtime Dragon Ball fan, he had rewatched Dragon Ball Z countless times. He'd seen the despair of the Future Timeline, where the only two Z Fighters left were the one-armed Gohan and Trunks. To protect the young Trunks, Gohan had knocked him unconscious before facing Android 17 and Android 18 alone, only to die horribly among the ruins. The frustration and anger had made him pound his desk. Then a ripping headache had struck, and he'd lost consciousness.

The mechanical voice rang through his mind again. Wu Fan jolted and struggled up from the wet mound of earth.
His vision gradually cleared. Torrential rain pelted his face. All around him lay crumbling ruins, and in the distance stretched the flattened remains of a city. The air reeked of smoke and blood.
He instinctively tried to push himself up with both hands, then abruptly froze. He lost his balance and pitched straight into the mud.
His left side was empty. There wasn't even a sleeve left, just a ragged hole. His orange gi had been stained dark red with blood.
A severed arm.

Wu Fan silently studied his battered body, then looked at the information displayed in his mind.
He really had transmigrated.
And he'd become the one-armed Son Gohan from the Future Timeline—the most tragic and heartbreaking version of him.
Delight and panic surged through him at once. He was thrilled to have stumbled into the kind of miraculous adventure found only in novels, but alarmed by the terrible state of this body. The "ki" inside him was as weak as a guttering candle in the wind, liable to go out at any moment.
The icy rain and the searing pain of his wounds told him this wasn't a dream!

"I choose Option Four! Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline!" Once he was sure he'd really transmigrated, Wu Fan made his decision in his mind without a moment's hesitation.

Anyone who'd watched Dragon Ball knew that Super Saiyan and Legendary Super Saiyan were practically two different species!
Super Saiyan Full Power? It was great, and it would let him defeat the Android siblings in this timeline, but he could train to reach it himself.
Son Goku's combat experience? That was useful, sure, but it still couldn't compare. He could train for that, too.
Double his power level? With the Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline, why would he worry about being too weak?
The Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline was the same freakish bloodline as Broly's in the original movies. It was a truly invincible physique! Its starting point was incredibly high, and even without training, its power level would double every year as he grew older. Its potential was so absurd it defied reason: it grew stronger against stronger opponents, had no upper limit on its ki, and, most importantly, wouldn't run out of control!
If not for the movies, Goku and Vegeta would probably have been done for.

Seeing that Senzu Beans were among the rewards, Gohan took one out and swallowed it without hesitation.

His wounds, which had been painful enough to nearly knock him unconscious, scabbed over and healed before his eyes.
His bones crackled, and every cell in his body seemed to leap for joy. His whole body felt renewed.
Wu Fan let out a long breath.
As expected of a Senzu Bean—the effect was incredible!
With his injuries healed, Wu Fan raised his fist and carefully felt the tremendous power surging through him.
He could tell that with the slightest thought, he could reduce the entire ruined city before him to ash.
The heady rush of suddenly gaining such immense power nearly made him feel as though nothing in the world could stand against him, but he quickly regained his composure.
He walked to a puddle nearby and looked at his reflection in the lightning's glare.
Sharp eyes, a resolute face, a deep scar at the corner of his right eye, and an empty left sleeve.
The name "Son Gohan" was a controversial one among Dragon Ball fans.
In the main timeline, his talent was unparalleled across the universe. During the Cell Games, at just ten years old, he was the first to break through the Super Saiyan 2 barrier, beating the arrogant Perfect Cell so badly he questioned his own existence. Back then, Gohan's radiance had even eclipsed his father, Son Goku, the protagonist.
The strongest in the universe at ten!
But what happened next? As soon as peace arrived, the kid tossed martial arts aside and forgot all about them. The pressure from his mother, Chi-Chi, combined with his own distaste for fighting, turned him into a bookish weakling who couldn't hurt a fly. Later on, he couldn't even fit into his trademark orange gi anymore. He changed into a hideous green tracksuit and got beaten into the ground by Frieza's mooks.
He'd squandered an unbeatable hand and earned the illustrious nickname "Nobi-Gohan."
But the body before him—the Son Gohan of this desperate timeline—was completely different.
Son Goku had died of the Heart Virus. Vegeta, Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, Krillin, and the other Z Fighters had all fallen fighting the Androids. Piccolo's death had even turned the Dragon Balls into ordinary stones.
No extra lives, no Senzu Bean supplies, no masters to guide him.
This boy, who should have grown up sheltered, had been forced to shoulder the burden of protecting Earth. He'd struggled through the ruins and clung to life on the brink of death for more than a decade.
And yet his end had been so cruel.
To protect the last hope—young Trunks—he'd resolutely knocked his pupil unconscious. Missing an arm, he'd charged alone at the two emotionless killing machines.
Android 17 and Android 18.
It hadn't been a battle at all, but a one-sided slaughter. The demonic siblings had delighted in toying with him, blasting the exhausted Gohan to death in the cold mud with a storm of ki blasts.
After Trunks woke up, he'd found Gohan's broken body in the rain. The purple-haired boy's heart-wrenching sobs, and the moment he finally transformed into a Super Saiyan in his overwhelming grief, had once brought Wu Fan to tears in front of the screen.
Judging by the timeline, that kid Trunks was probably still unconscious, or had just woken up and was rushing over here like mad to retrieve the body.
If the purple-haired boy reached the ruins and saw his brother and master—who should have been as good as dead—standing by a puddle, alive and well, without a single injury, the look on his face would be priceless.
"No matter what, since I've taken over this body..."
He looked at the sharp reflection in the water, his eyes gradually growing as keen as a blade.
"From now on, I am Son Gohan."
The name Wu Fan could stay in that peaceful world. Since fate had given him a chance to change things—and handed him such a powerful bloodline—he would never let the original Gohan's miserable fate play out again!
Once he'd calmed down, Gohan began to assess the situation.
The Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline was certainly incredible. The sensation of being able to destroy the world with a wave of his hand had gone straight to his head. But he was thinking clearly.
This was the Dragon Ball World! A ridiculous universe where people could destroy planets, then star systems, and, later on, casually erase entire universes!
The Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline had an incredibly high starting point, doubled his power every year automatically, and had limitless potential. But this world was crawling with monsters even more terrifying than Legendary Super Saiyans.
Even in this desperate Future Timeline, the threats went far beyond the Android siblings right in front of him.
Lurking in a dark underground laboratory was an even more terrifying monster—Cell. He'd combined the cells of every great fighter, and if he found a chance to absorb Android 17 and Android 18 and become Perfect Cell, his power would undergo a qualitative leap.
Beyond that, there was the threat of Majin Buu. Even if this timeline lacked the energy of Goku and Vegeta to awaken Buu, that sinister old schemer Babidi would eventually come to Earth to cause trouble.
Not to mention the madman who would appear in the future with Son Goku's face—Goku Black—and Zamasu, who fancied himself a god!
Against such unreasonable monsters, the power he gained naturally from the Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline wouldn't be nearly enough!
"I still need to train."
Gohan clenched his remaining right fist, and his knuckles crackled like popping beans.
The Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline had given him an invincible ticket to the highest realms, but that didn't mean he could just sit back and relax.
Fortunately, as a longtime Dragon Ball fan, his greatest advantage was his thorough grasp of the story and its training systems.
Super Saiyan 1, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3: the conventional path.
Super Saiyan 4: the primal path.
Then there was Super Saiyan God in the realm of the gods, Super Saiyan Blue, Son Goku's Ultra Instinct, Vegeta's Ultra Ego, and even "Beast Form," which Son Gohan himself had developed in the original story!
He knew every advanced form's principles, emotional triggers, and methods of controlling ki like the back of his hand.
With the limitless Legendary Super Saiyan physique as his foundation, he could try combining all these paths.
Legendary Super Saiyan with God Ki? Legendary Super Saiyan combined with Beast Form?
Just thinking about it made the Saiyan blood in Gohan's body begin to boil.
But you had to take things one bite at a time.
Gohan closed his eyes and began to carefully assess his current strength.
Although Dragon Ball's power-level system had completely fallen apart in the later stages, it was still a useful reference early on.
In the Namek Saga, Frieza's final form at full power had a power level of 120 million. Son Goku's power level had been 150 million when he first transformed into a Super Saiyan.
What about the original Gohan of this desperate timeline?
In his base form, his power level was probably only around three or four million at most. Transforming into an ordinary Super Saiyan increased it fiftyfold, bringing it to somewhere between a hundred million and two hundred million.
That sounded stronger than Goku had been on Namek, but in reality, without a master to guide him, under constant pressure for years, and after losing an arm, the original Gohan's strength had remained stuck at this bottleneck. He'd never been able to break through to Super Saiyan Full Power.
Then there were his opponents: Android 17 and Android 18.
These monsters, modified by Dr. Gero and equipped with Infinite Energy Reactors, would never run out of stamina.
In the original story, Future Android 17 had told Gohan himself, "Last time, we didn't even use half our power."
In other words, Future Gohan had fought with everything he had and still hadn't forced them to use even half their strength.
A rough estimate put Android 17 and Android 18's full power at at least three or four hundred million!
