Trunks stood completely frozen, stunned by the sight of Frieza begging for mercy in such a pathetic manner.
Frieza, the Emperor of the Universe, a being synonymous with evil who had committed every atrocity imaginable, was actually kneeling before a Saiyan to protect alien civilians?
"Trunks, suppress your energy." Son Gohan stepped forward, kicked the unconscious Tien Shinhan aside, and looked down at the trembling Frieza.
The degree of distortion in this space-time far exceeded their expectations. All the bizarre scenes before them were likely linked to the severe "timeline anomaly" Popo had mentioned; the entire world seemed to have completely overturned its original historical trajectory.
Son Gohan placed his right hand on Frieza's shaking shoulder, channeling a gentle stream of energy to stabilize the tyrant's near-fatal injuries.
"We are not your enemies. We don't belong to that empire of yours." Son Gohan's tone was calm, striving to show no hostility. "Can you tell us what exactly happened to this world?"
Feeling a flicker of vitality return to his body, Frieza cautiously raised his head. Seeing the clarity and lack of murderous intent in Son Gohan's black eyes, the fear in his own eyes receded slightly, though he remained highly vigilant.
"Damnable Saiyans! What kind of trick are you trying to pull now!" Frieza gritted his teeth.
He simply could not believe that the Saiyans before him were being kind; he was certain they had devised some new scheme to torture him for their own amusement.
After exerting a tremendous amount of effort, they finally managed to convince Frieza that they were not affiliated with the evil Saiyans.
Inside an abandoned resistance base hundreds of meters underground.
Dim lights flickered. The surrounding area was packed with shivering civilians. Frieza leaned against a rusted iron pipe, took a sip of the water Trunks had handed him, and gasped out the truth of this timeline.
"That group of evil Saiyans... they are the most malignant tumor festering in this universe."
Frieza's voice was filled with profound helplessness and hatred.
According to him, the trajectory of history had reached an extremely bizarre turning point many years ago. At that time, he had been preparing to destroy Planet Vegeta as originally planned. However, an absolute anomaly had suddenly risen among the Saiyans.
"His name is Kakarot." When Frieza mentioned the name, his muscles spasmed. "It is said that when he was born, he was sent to a low-level planet called Earth, where he conquered the world in an incredibly short time and returned to Planet Vegeta with terrifying power."
Son Gohan's eyes narrowed. This was the node!
In the normal timeline, Kakarot had fallen off a cliff and damaged his head, turning into the kind-hearted Son Goku. But in this timeline, perhaps Kakarot had not hit his head. He had retained the brutal, warlike nature of a Saiyan, and likely due to the interference of some mysterious power, his combat strength had undergone an irrational, mutant-like surge.
"After Kakarot returned, he united all the Saiyans," Frieza continued. "I don't know what method they used, but they all broke through to become the legendary warriors of the Saiyans—Super Saiyans! My army and I were unilaterally slaughtered. My father, King Cold, was torn apart by Kakarot with his bare hands, and my space fleet was reduced to ashes. Since then, the Saiyans have taken over the universe and established a tyrannical empire of absolute evil."
By various twists of fate, Frieza had eventually become a hero fighting against these evil Saiyans.
"Then what about Krillin and Tien Shinhan?" Trunks couldn't help but ask. Even if Saiyans were born brutal, how could Earthlings turn out like this?
Frieza let out a bitter laugh. "Earthlings? They haven't been human for a long time."
"When Kakarot conquered Earth, he captured all the martial artists there. To forge absolutely loyal hunting dogs, they forcibly implanted Saiyan genes into the bodies of the Earthlings. Those who survived not only gained the combativeness and potential of Saiyans, but they also became nothing more than mad dogs who bite wherever Kakarot points."
Trunks felt as if he had been struck by lightning; he stumbled back two steps and slammed into the wall.
Uncle Goku, the savior his mother spoke of, had become a cold-blooded demon, and Krillin and Tien Shinhan had become genetically modified lapdogs. For Trunks, this world was nothing short of an absurd and bizarre nightmare.
"Brother Gohan, what is going on..." Trunks's voice was hoarse.
Son Gohan leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, his brain racing.
The change in this timeline, influenced by the Miracle Power emitted by the Original Dragon Balls, had clearly undergone a severe shift. This had caused the Kakarot of this world not only to remain unredeemed but to amplify the evil side of the Saiyans infinitely, even assimilating the entire Universe 7. If left unchecked, once this evil empire grew strong enough, it would inevitably invade other parallel dimensions.
"It seems the Original Dragon Balls we are looking for must be in the hands of this Kakarot. Under the influence of the Miracle Power, everything has been turned upside down!" Son Gohan concluded.
Just then.
A piercing red alarm suddenly blared wildly throughout the underground base! Blinding red lights flashed in alternation, and the entire underground space began to shake violently, causing dirt and stones to rain down from the ceiling.
"No! The base has been discovered!" Frieza's expression changed drastically as he lunged to his feet.
BOOM!
A deafening, earth-shattering roar echoed.
The hundreds of meters of earth above the underground base were pierced through by an indescribably terrifying force. Sunlight, mixed with a violent energy storm, poured down, tearing a massive hole in the ceiling of the resistance base.
All the civilians screamed and covered their heads, scrambling for cover.
At the center of the storm, two massive, demon-like figures slowly descended from the sky, slamming into the center of the base like two meteorites and causing dense cracks to spiderweb across the floor.
"You were certainly hard to find, Frieza."
A hoarse, rough voice rang out.
Son Gohan clearly saw the intruders.
The man on the left was a bald giant whose muscles were so exaggerated they looked ready to burst. His eyes were completely filled with blood-red, dark red lightning crackled around his body, and a cruel, bloodthirsty sneer hung on his lips.
The man on the right had hair reaching his waist, which was now a bizarre, dark purple. His fingernails were like sharp blades, and his entire body exuded a nauseating stench of blood.
Nappa! Raditz!
But their combat power was no longer the mere thousands of "trash" from the original story. The energy radiating from them was approaching nearly one billion!
"To think you dared to hurt our low-level lapdogs." Nappa twisted his neck, producing a sound like popping firecrackers. His blood-red eyes bypassed Frieza and locked onto Trunks and Son Gohan standing behind him.
"Unfamiliar Saiyan faces? It seems King Kakarot was right; some rats really did sneak in."
Raditz licked his lips, his dark purple hair fluttering without a breeze.
"Nappa, leave the purple-haired brat to you. As for the one in black, I'm going to rip his intestines out, piece by piece."
