Trunks glared at the two arrogant bastards before him. His mind was filled with images of the civilians who had died horribly in the ruins of the last city, and fury burned through him.
"You bastards!"
He couldn't even be bothered to ask who the two Saiyans were. Without a word, he attacked!
Boom! Golden ki erupted like a volcano. Trunks switched straight into Super Saiyan form, and the raging shock wave sent every nearby piece of rubble flying.
Nappa's blood-red eyes widened. "How can he be this strong?!"
Before he could say another word—
Whoosh! Trunks vanished in an instant.
Nappa didn't even catch a glimpse of him. He only felt a sudden chill in his chest. Trunks's arm had punched straight through his iron-hard chest and out his back, his palm clutching a still-beating heart.
"You... you..." Nappa's mouth hung open as blood poured out in great gulps.
Trunks withdrew his hand without changing expression, then turned and slammed a vicious roundhouse kick into Raditz's face.
Trunks had grown up in the same atmosphere of despair. He could understand what these alien refugees had gone through!
Bam!
Raditz's neck snapped, and his head was kicked a full 180 degrees backward.
Neither of them even had a chance to fight back. They became two corpses and crashed heavily into the ruins.
The civilians stood stunned. The two evil Saiyans who had been so arrogant just moments ago had been killed in an instant. Frieza stared at Trunks in shock and swallowed hard.
Trunks snorted, powered down, and shook the blood from his hand.
Just then, something unexpected happened.
Buzz! A dense, blinding white light erupted without warning from Raditz's corpse, his neck still broken.
Son Gohan raised an eyebrow. He knew that aura all too well. In the previous timeline, it had been the same power that burst from Lin Fan when he mutated.
Miracle Power.
In the white light, Raditz's broken neck made a sickening sound as it reassembled. That wasn't all: his already massive body swelled further, and his muscles bulged like boulders. His dark purple hair grew wildly as if alive, reaching all the way to his ankles. His eyebrows vanished completely, and his brow ridges jutted high.
His immense aura had now completely surpassed Trunks's.
Crackle!
Dark red arcs of electricity flashed wildly around him. The gravity throughout the entire resistance base surged, and the ground collapsed over a wide area.
"Hahaha!" Raditz rolled his fully restored neck, his blood-red eyes alight with deranged fervor. "What a marvelous feeling!"
Trunks was startled. "He came back to life? And his power didn't just skyrocket—he transformed into a Super Saiyan 3?!"
"That's right! This is the supreme gift King Kakarot bestowed upon me!" Raditz roared with laughter. "Death isn't the end. It's the beginning of infinite evolution! Every time I die, this power remakes my body and pushes me beyond my limits! What do you think? Despair! Long live the Saiyan Empire!"
As soon as Raditz finished speaking, he turned into a streak of dark red lightning and charged at Trunks, bringing with him an oppressive force that seemed capable of destroying the world.
Trunks roared and powered up into Super Saiyan form again, ready to face him.
But a hand pressed firmly against his shoulder.
"Don't be rash, Trunks." Son Gohan's calm voice rang in Trunks's ear, instantly quelling his surging power.
If Raditz had merely come back to life, he wouldn't have been so troublesome. But he had grown much stronger after just one death. If they killed him again, who knew whether he would come back even stronger—or even turn into a Super Saiyan 4?
Against a rule this unreasonable, they couldn't follow the usual course of battle.
When Raditz saw Son Gohan step forward, he sneered. "Trying to switch opponents? It won't help! You're all going to die here today!"
Raditz clawed at Son Gohan's face.
Son Gohan made no unnecessary move. He simply raised his right hand, and a hair-raising purplish-red light glimmered in his palm.
"Destruction."
The purplish-red light spread like an invisible net, crossing the distance in an instant and enveloping Raditz from head to toe.
The arrogance on Raditz's face froze, replaced by utter terror. The power had no heat and felt nothing like clashing ki, but the moment it touched him, his body began to vanish before his eyes.
"What is this power?! Why can't my body regenerate?!"
Raditz desperately summoned the white light within him, trying to repair his body, but the Destruction Energy Son Gohan unleashed was far more potent. As Miracle Power was gradually consumed and worn away by the Destruction Energy, Raditz's long hair crumbled strand by strand.
With his body on the verge of being erased completely, Raditz summoned the last of his strength and slammed the button on the special communicator clipped to his ear.
The purple light faded away completely.
Raditz and the final sound waves he had sent were erased from the universe without a trace.
At the same time—
In a distant region of space, countless armed mutant Earthling soldiers and Saiyan officers patrolled above the dark red skies of Planet Vegeta.
Inside the Saiyan royal palace—
A massive throne carved entirely from obsidian and bone towered over the hall.
The man seated on it wore heavy red-and-black armor. His face was identical to Son Goku's, but it held not a trace of warmth or kindness—only absolute coldness and a brutality that looked down on all things. Evil Kakarot.
Vegeta stood to his right, eyes half-lidded, a faint halo seemingly circling him.
The auras these two gave off were unfathomable. They were no longer simply a matter of how much ki they possessed, but an oppressive force that made one feel suffocated by their sheer rank.
A virtual screen hung in midair in the hall, replaying the final few seconds of footage Raditz had transmitted before his death. The image was frozen on the purplish-red light in Son Gohan's palm.
"Destruction?" Evil Kakarot tapped his fingers lightly against the bone armrest, watching the screen. "What kind of power is this? Interesting. Very interesting~."
Vegeta stood nearby and sneered. "They're just a few rats who crawled out of who knows where. King Kakarot, let me go. I promise I'll tear them apart in no time."
"No rush." Kakarot rose to his feet, absolute confidence flashing in his eyes. "It's been a long time since I've encountered such interesting prey. I'm looking forward to their arrival."
Kakarot glanced down at his chest.
A mass of blazing white light pulsed slowly inside it. It was this universe's Original Dragon Balls. To gain absolute control of that power, he had fused them into his own flesh.
Back at the underground resistance base—
Son Gohan took out the dim Three-Star Original Dragon Ball. The ball, which had shown no reaction before, now gave off a faint hum. A golden thread appeared once more on the Bracer, faintly visible as it pointed straight toward the depths of space.
Trunks came closer. "Gohan, why is the ball glowing?"
"It's resonating with the other Original Dragon Balls." Son Gohan watched the golden thread. "The Dragon Balls in this world are in that direction."
Frieza looked toward where the golden line pointed. His face instantly turned deathly pale, and his body trembled uncontrollably.
"That direction! It's the Saiyans' home, Planet Vegeta!" Frieza's voice shook. "Kakarot's main base is there. Not only are those two monsters there, but the planet is also home to tens of millions of Saiyan demons in the Demon Legion!"
Son Gohan put the Original Dragon Ball away.
He didn't want to keep aimlessly clearing out grunts in this universe. Against the Evil Saiyan Legion, who could use death to evolve at any moment, the longer they waited, the more uncertain things would become.
Now that they knew where the mastermind was, they could go straight there and finish this.
