The wind on the plaza of Kami's Palace seemed to have come to a standstill.
After the two exchanged pleasantries, Piccolo stepped forward, his gaze sweeping back and forth between Son Goku and Son Gohan before finally settling on the latter.
"Although I had long anticipated your talent, I never expected to see with my own eyes that your future self would grow to this extent," Piccolo said in a deep voice. "That monster, Cell, is preparing for a martial arts tournament. If the current you were to join, we would certainly win."
"No!"
Hearing this, Son Goku whipped his head around and interrupted Piccolo without a moment's hesitation. "Piccolo, this is our fight!"
Watching Goku's eager expression, Son Gohan chuckled to himself.
He really is Goku. That pure-blooded Saiyan trait of being a battle junkie hasn't changed a bit, even after dying countless times.
Goku circled around Son Gohan, his eyes burning with the fervor of someone looking at a rare treasure. "I can feel it—you're ridiculously strong right now. If you stepped in, Cell wouldn't even be able to take a single finger of yours. That would be so boring! I don't want to miss my chance to fight Cell."
Piccolo's face turned green, and he sighed helplessly. However, he did not persist, because Son Gohan standing there was like a stabilizing force, making him no longer worry about the situation ahead.
Yet, as Piccolo looked at Adult Gohan, his brows gradually furrowed again.
"Gohan," Piccolo stared into Son Gohan's eyes. "I've been wanting to say this since just now."
"The energy coming from you... why does it feel like it carries a sinister scent? Like a beast ready to tear everything apart at any moment."
Adult Gohan was taken aback. Although he had forcibly suppressed the wildness of the Legendary Super Saiyan within his body, a trace of that violent aftertaste did indeed leak out in his base form. He was just about to make up a random excuse to brush it off.
"That is the aura of the Legendary Super Saiyan."
Popo's flat, emotionless voice rang out abruptly across the plaza.
Adult Gohan's heart skipped a beat as he turned to look at the black-skinned man. This guy was truly mysterious; he knew far too much.
Goku, Young Gohan, and Young Trunks, who had been following behind Adult Gohan, all looked at Popo in unison.
"The Legendary Super Saiyan?" Young Trunks' eyes widened. In the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Adult Gohan had been too busy training him to death to mention his origins, even though he had heard Gohan use the term before.
Popo's round, unblinking eyes remained calm, his voice echoing directly in everyone's minds: "An ordinary Super Saiyan breaks through their limits using intense emotions like rage. But the Legendary Super Saiyan is a mutated bloodline that only appears once every thousand years among the Saiyan race. It is pure destruction and wildness; once transformed, there is no upper limit to its power, which continues to swell as the battle progresses."
Young Gohan's eyes lit up as he listened. He looked at Popo: "Mr. Popo, can I become that state in the future too?"
"No," Popo answered bluntly. "The rules and development of every timeline and every universe are different. In any given universe, at any given time, there can only exist one Legendary Super Saiyan."
Popo paused, his gaze seeming to pierce through the clouds. "In your timeline, there is already one."
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone except Son Gohan was shocked.
Adult Gohan, of course, knew who Popo was talking about. Broly, the one exiled to Planet Vampa. However, he didn't have the time to worry about that guy who was still playing electric-shock games with his father.
Goku's attention wasn't on the Legendary Super Saiyan at all. He stared fixedly at the Gohan before him, golden energy flickering faintly on his skin.
"A Saiyan legend that only appears once every thousand years? And with no upper limit?" Goku grinned, revealing his signature excited smile. "As expected of my Gohan! Let's have a match! I want to see just how far you've come!"
Watching the battle-hungry Goku before him, Son Gohan felt his own fighting spirit fully ignited.
After two years of extreme training, his current base combat power had reached forty billion. He also wanted to use the Goku of the main timeline to gauge his own strength.
"Fine." Adult Gohan unbuttoned his tattered martial arts gi and tossed it to Young Trunks nearby.
When Piccolo saw Gohan take off his outer garment, he seemed unable to hold back, turning away discreetly.
His muscular upper body was covered in scars, and despite the loss of his left arm, he stood as straight as a spear. Without any explosive display of energy, without even a wisp of air leaking out, Son Gohan assumed a fighting stance and beckoned to Goku with his only remaining hand.
"Come on, Dad. I'll just use my base form."
Goku's eyes sharpened. He didn't feel offended; instead, he felt an unprecedented sense of pressure.
BOOM!
Golden energy soared into the sky, and the stone slabs of the palace plaza were instantly blown away. Goku cut straight into his Full Power Super Saiyan state, holding nothing back.
WHOOSH!
Goku's figure vanished from his spot in an instant.
Adult Gohan stood still, merely tilting his head slightly.
BANG!
Goku's heavy punch, carrying a violent gale, slammed into the air to the right of Adult Gohan, only to be caught firmly by a calloused palm. A violent shockwave exploded from the center of the two, forcing Piccolo, Young Gohan, and Young Trunks to retreat repeatedly.
"So fast!" Young Gohan exclaimed.
Gohan's lips curled into a smirk. Too slow. With his perception at forty billion base power, Goku's full-power speed felt like it was in slow motion.
"Again!" Goku shouted, charging forward once more.
Countless afterimages exploded across the sky. A white figure and a golden figure collided frantically above the palace.
To be precise, the golden figure was attacking wildly, while the white-clad figure, who hadn't even unleashed his aura, was neutralizing every attack with nothing but his right hand, doing so with effortless ease.
He had already figured it out: Son Goku's current Full Power strength was around 35 billion, provided he didn't use the Kaioken.
Adult Gohan hovered in mid-air, calmly parrying Goku's storm-like onslaught while diverting a sliver of his senses to monitor the situation below.
Two familiar energy signatures were rapidly approaching Kami's Palace.
SWISH! SWISH!
Two figures landed heavily on the palace plaza.
Gohan swept his gaze to the side. The man walking in front wore a blue skin-tight combat suit, his iconic hair spiked upward, his face full of unbridled arrogance. Vegeta.
Following behind him was a young man with short, parted purple hair, carrying a long sword on his back. Future Trunks from another timeline.
"Piccolo! What is going on up there? Who is Kakarot fighting?!" Vegeta demanded loudly the moment he landed, his eyes locked onto the one-armed figure in mid-air who was suppressing Goku.
He had been training with Trunks when he suddenly sensed the Lookout appear, along with an energy even greater than Son Goku's, yet it wasn't Cell.
Piccolo stepped forward and quickly explained the temporal distortion and how Son Gohan and Young Trunks from a parallel world had accidentally arrived here.
Adult Gohan heard everything clearly from the sky. He punched Goku, forcing him back, and cast an interested gaze downward.
On the plaza.
Young Trunks was staring blankly at Vegeta. The fourteen-year-old boy had only ever seen his father in photographs. Now, that living, breathing, proud Saiyan Prince stood right before him.
"Da... Dad..." Young Trunks instinctively took a step forward, his voice trembling.
Vegeta whipped his head around, his sharp gaze landing on Young Trunks.
He looked at the purple-haired boy, whose clothes were tattered but whose eyes held a hint of wildness and cold resolve, and a flicker of imperceptible emotion flashed in the depths of his eyes. But the pride of a prince made him instinctively snort.
"Don't look at me with those weak eyes! If you are a descendant of the Saiyans, then show me some backbone!"
Young Trunks was stunned by the shout, then immediately straightened his back.
Vegeta's gaze swept over this Young Trunks, and his brow suddenly twitched. He keenly sensed that the energy contained within this boy, who looked only fourteen or fifteen, was actually even greater than that of himself or the Future Trunks standing behind him.
A base battle power of 1.5 billion!
Even a Trunks this young has surpassed me. Vegeta gritted his teeth, secretly shocked.
But his attention was quickly drawn back to the commotion in the sky.
In the sky.
Gohan and Goku pulled away from each other once more.
"Exhilarating!" Goku wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth; although he was being unilaterally crushed, the light in his eyes grew brighter and brighter. "Gohan, your current power is simply bottomless!"
Son Gohan hovered in the air, looking down at the people of the main timeline from above.
Below, Future Trunks finally saw the face of the one-armed man in the sky clearly.
That face, that scar, and that severed arm.
Future Trunks' pupils constricted violently, his eyes instantly reddened, and his voice cracked with extreme shock and ecstasy.
"Is that... Gohan-nii?!"
