Vwoom! Boom!
As golden energy flared around Ron once again,
the three Death Cutting Discs that had ambushed him from behind were stopped cold by the force of his ki. No matter how hard they tried to push forward, they couldn't move another inch.
Even someone as powerful as Son Goku, whose battle power reached 150 million in the original story, couldn't have stopped them so easily.
Ron could do it for two reasons: his strength was more than enough, and his mastery of ki and energy had reached an exceptionally high level.
Put simply, the Death Cutting Discs were indeed terrifyingly powerful. Ron wouldn't dare take them head-on with his bare body.
The sight shocked Frieza all over again.
After all, he'd been absolutely certain his sneak attack would succeed—and that it would slice Ron to pieces.
But this was what happened instead.
He had completely underestimated Ron, and he'd been far too confident in himself.
Frieza reacted just as one might expect, even feeling a flicker of regret.
Meanwhile,
Son Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, and Son Gohan had all been holding their breath for Ron.
They'd seen Ron's strength and witnessed his power, but they were still afraid that he might let his guard down and fall victim to Frieza's dirty tricks.
Just moments ago, they'd been about to warn him. The attack looked incredibly familiar to them, and it was every bit as dangerous as Krillin's Destructo Disc.
The Destructo Disc could easily slice off Frieza's tail, so they'd instinctively felt that even someone as powerful as Ron might be in mortal danger if those three discs hit him.
But just as they were about to warn him, Ron had reacted.
Watching him effortlessly block the sneak attack gave them an even deeper understanding of his strength.
Even so, they remained worried. From the start of the battle until now, Frieza had kept pulling out one trick after another, and every attack was vicious. No one knew how many more underhanded moves he had up his sleeve.
"If this guy's strong enough to kill Frieza, why is he dragging this out?" Krillin said, full of worry.
Watching the battle change in an instant, his emotions had been all over the place. Sometimes, his heart felt like it was about to leap out of his throat.
"Yeah. What is he trying to do?" Son Gohan couldn't help asking after hearing Krillin.
Piccolo gave a cold laugh. "Hmph! If I'm not mistaken, he's just toying with Frieza."
"Toying with him? He's still playing around? Oh my gosh, wouldn't it be better to just finish off Frieza, the great villain of the universe? He...he's way too carefree." Bulma shuddered.
She might have been captivated by Ron's imposing figure—especially his Super Saiyan form, which was incredibly cool.
But she still had a head on her shoulders. She was an ordinary woman, and she was scared.
"He really is carefree, but he's also incredibly strong! I wonder how he trained..." Son Goku watched the battle in the distance and clenched his fists. "Super Saiyan is so powerful. One day, I'm definitely going to reach that level too. Then I'll fight him and see which of us is stronger."
Piccolo glanced at Son Goku.
He didn't say anything, but he was already wondering how he could get stronger and keep from being left behind.
Super Saiyan—this was just cheating.
High in the sky,
after using his energy to stop the three Death Cutting Discs, Ron spun around in one smooth motion and snatched them out of the air.
He didn't just examine them closely. He started playing with them, too.
His mental energy locked onto them, completely cutting off Frieza's control. All Frieza could do was stare.
"You—you actually treated my Death Cutting Discs like toys... You—you, who are you?!"
Seeing Ron's air of absolute confidence, as if everything were under his control, Frieza finally began to panic.
At last, he truly understood just how powerful Ron was—and that he couldn't beat him.
"Who am I? Aren't I just that mere Saiyan Monkey you were talking about? Oh, no—I'm a Super Saiyan Monkey." Ron curled his lips into a smile, then flung the attack back at Frieza. "Here. Have your attack back."
The three Death Cutting Discs shot toward Frieza even faster than before.
Frieza immediately felt the threat of death.
"Damn it!!!"
Without the slightest hesitation, Frieza powered up and shot into the sky, dodging the three Death Cutting Discs as he gathered energy high above.
By now, he was running out of tricks.
More importantly, his power posed no threat at all to Ron, the Super Saiyan.
Even so, he still clung to a desperate hope.
Knowing that he couldn't gain anything by continuing the fight—and that Ron might actually kill him—he decided to resort to a dirty trick.
"Let's see you block this! Behold my Planet Penetration Strike!!"
Frieza raised both hands, forming a deep-red energy sphere between them.
The attack was very similar to the Planet Destroyer Bomb, but there was a major difference.
The Planet Destroyer Bomb gathered energy into a massive sphere that caused irreparable damage to a planet. Its purpose was to destroy the planet outright.
The Planet Penetration Strike was the attack Frieza had used in the original story to strike the core of Planet Namek.
The energy sphere wasn't very large, but it still contained the same planet-destroying power. Its form was different: it lacked the Planet Destroyer Bomb's terrifying explosive force, but it had unparalleled penetrating power.
If this attack landed, Planet Namek would meet the same fate as in the original story.
It might not explode right away, but the countdown to its destruction would begin.
By now, Ron had lost interest in Frieza.
He could guess that Frieza was already afraid of him.
Frieza was probably using this attack as a distraction, hoping to escape Planet Namek and make other plans.
After all, Frieza believed Saiyans couldn't survive in space.
Out in space, he would have the home-field advantage.
Just as Frieza was about to bring down the Planet Penetration Strike, Ron suddenly vanished.
At this point, how could he let Frieza carry out the attack?
In the end, saving Planet Namek would be a good thing. Ron could wait for the Namekians to be revived and then use his status as their savior to borrow the Dragon Balls and make a wish.
He'd had the same idea earlier. Otherwise, he wouldn't have stopped that Planet Destroyer Bomb and kicked it away from the planet.
In less than half a second, Ron had crossed the distance between himself and Frieza.
Under Frieza's disbelieving, horrified gaze, Ron grabbed his wrist and forcibly stopped him from unleashing the Planet Penetration Strike.
