There Was Still a God of Destruction Behind Him

"R-really? You can cross the vast distances of space and travel between universes just like that?"

Ron's words had clearly left Son Goku completely stunned.

Piccolo, Krillin, Son Gohan, and Bulma were just as shocked.

"If you're strong enough to sense the energy on both ends, then making the trip instantly is no problem. But with your current strength, even if you learn Instant Transmission, your energy sensing won't reach Earth. So don't get your hopes up about using it to travel back and forth anytime soon." Ron narrowed his eyes and teased Son Goku.

Actually, even for Ron, getting to Earth with Instant Transmission would be extremely difficult right now.

Unless, like Son Goku and Frieza had just done, he released enough energy for Ron to sense it.

Then Ron could track the energy, lock onto the target, and use Instant Transmission.

"I see. So this technique requires the target's energy to help you teleport?"

"You're pretty sharp. That's right! I've only trained it to this level so far, and there's still room for improvement. Maybe one day, I won't need to rely on energy to travel."

Son Goku really was a genius when it came to training.

Ron had only given him a simple explanation, yet Goku had immediately figured out Instant Transmission's greatest limitation.

It wasn't something you could use to travel wherever you wanted. You had to sense your target's energy to make the jump.

"With your skills, I'm sure you'll manage it someday. After all, you've already mastered Super Saiyan." Son Goku suddenly changed the subject.

That caught Ron off guard.

Based on how Son Goku had been portrayed in the original story's early years, especially during the Great Universe arc, he was much more mature than he had been in the first part. But he shouldn't have been this composed and perceptive yet.

His words sounded like a compliment, but he was really testing Ron.

Ron had to admit, he'd gotten a glimpse of Son Goku's intellect.

The guy wasn't stupid at all. He was smarter than anyone; he just seemed simple-minded on the surface.

"Then I'll take your word for it. If you want to learn, I can teach you. I can even show you how to become a Super Saiyan." Ron's lips curled into a smile as he spoke in a tempting tone.

Son Goku's face lit up with delight, and his earlier composure vanished.

The others watched, their hearts in their throats.

Could there really be something that good?

"You're really willing to teach me Instant Transmission? And how to become a Super Saiyan? Aren't you worried I'll surpass you?"

"If you can surpass me, I'd be delighted." Ron's eyes crinkled with amusement. "Of course, I'm not going to teach you for free. In exchange for teaching you Instant Transmission and how to transform into a Super Saiyan, you'll have to offer me something worth learning. For example, you can teach me the techniques you know. I'm very interested in Earth's training methods..."

Son Goku was taken aback.

"So we teach each other?"

It was obvious that he was getting the better end of the deal.

Even if you counted Kaioken and Spirit Bomb, Earth's training methods and the techniques he knew were nowhere near as valuable as Instant Transmission and the way to become a Super Saiyan.

"You could put it that way. Or you could think of it as me helping you grow so that one day you'll be strong enough to become my opponent. That way, the pressure you put on me will help me get stronger, too. The universe is huge, after all, and even Super Saiyans might not be invincible... Besides, there's a God of Destruction behind Frieza." Ron continued, his voice growing serious toward the end.

He was being remarkably frank, laying out his plans for the future so plainly that there was nothing to criticize.

At the same time, he'd brought up the God of Destruction ahead of time, letting Son Goku and the others know that this was the goal they would need to pursue in the future.

"A God of Destruction?!"

Son Goku froze.

Piccolo, Krillin, and Son Gohan were just as stunned.

"T-there are Gods of Destruction in this world?" Bulma exclaimed.

"That just goes to show how full of surprises the universe is. Can you believe the destruction of the Saiyan race was connected to a God of Destruction? Frieza told me that the order to wipe out the Saiyans came from Beerus, the God of Destruction. That's when I learned that Frieza was nothing more than a dog at the God of Destruction's heel." Ron let out a soft laugh.

He gave them a brief explanation, enough to make them understand how terrifying the God of Destruction was—and how Frieza couldn't compare.

"Frieza is... just a dog to the God of Destruction?" Krillin gasped, his face deathly pale.

"Th-then how powerful is this God of Destruction?" Son Gohan asked, looking just as terrified.

Piccolo managed to keep his composure, but his eyes were unfocused. He'd clearly been frightened, too.

Frieza was already impossibly powerful. They had never expected a God of Destruction to be backing him.

Son Goku was stunned, not only by the news but also by the information North Kai had just relayed to him.

Without North Kai's warning, he would never have imagined that such a god existed in this world.

King Kai had also mentioned the Supreme Kai, who stood on equal footing with the God of Destruction. For a moment, Son Goku felt he understood just how vast the universe was.

"What is it, Kakarot? You look like you're scared." Ron spoke again, his tone playful.

Son Goku raised his head and met Ron's gaze.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared. Frieza was already terrifying, and now there's an even more terrifying God of Destruction! But more than afraid, I'm excited. If you give me enough time, I'm sure I can surpass Frieza someday. And if there are even stronger opponents ahead, that means I can get stronger, too!"

Son Goku had laid bare his fighting spirit with those words.

Ron admired him and smiled, nodding. "You haven't let me down. I hope you'll feel the same way when the day comes to face the God of Destruction."

He'd said it jokingly, but Ron meant it.

As someone who had crossed over into this world, he knew exactly how powerful Beerus, the God of Destruction, was.

At their current strength, they couldn't even dream of challenging him. A single breath from Beerus could wipe them out.

"So your plan is to find somewhere to keep training until one day you can face the God of Destruction and defeat him?"

Son Goku asked another question.

"Of course not. That's just one of my goals. I'm a person, after all. Now that I don't have any enemies to deal with for the time being, I'll naturally do other things to satisfy my desires, too..." As he spoke, Ron rolled his eyes at Son Goku.
