[Damn it! Where did this guy pop out from? I didn't sense him at all!] Alarm bells rang in Piccolo's mind.
Such a situation had never happened before.
At his sharp shout, Krillin and Son Gohan immediately assumed combat stances.
The newcomer was clearly not to be trifled with. Even though he hadn't attacked them directly, they had to remain cautious since they didn't know if he was a friend or a foe.
Seeing the three of them so tense, Ron burst into laughter—a belly-aching, uproarious laugh.
This reaction left Piccolo completely stunned, while Krillin and Son Gohan looked on in confusion and bewilderment.
As the stranger's laughter became increasingly unrestrained, Piccolo felt offended and said coldly, "Judging by your attire, you're also one of Frieza's subordinates? Looking this disheveled, I assume you barely escaped with your life? Appearing before us now and laughing so recklessly—are you looking to die?!"
"Looking to die?" Ron stopped laughing, caught his breath, and took a closer look at his own clothes.
They were indeed a mess.
He had been so focused on leaving that planet where he'd been trapped for twenty-five years that he'd forgotten he'd been wearing this same outfit for just as long.
If not for the fact that battle armor was made of stretchable, form-fitting material, he'd probably be wearing animal skins by now.
In truth, the armor had long since been damaged, with several tears patched up using animal hides and tendons.
But there was no helping it; if he'd had access to better clothes, he wouldn't have ended up like this.
Ron's behavior clearly left Krillin and Son Gohan completely baffled.
Though Piccolo remained cold and stern, a hint of surprise flickered deep within his eyes.
He couldn't figure out what was going on with this guy.
"Wait? You—you have a tail too! You're a Saiyan!!!" Krillin suddenly noticed something and exclaimed.
"A tail???" Son Gohan also looked at the tail wrapped around Ron's waist, his eyes widening in disbelief.
"In this world, besides Vegeta and Son Goku, there are actually other surviving Saiyans!" Even Piccolo couldn't hide his shock.
Hearing their words, the corners of Ron's mouth curled upward.
"I didn't expect to be identified so quickly. That's right, I am a Saiyan. You can call me Ron."
"Hmph! So, as a Saiyan, what are you doing here?" Piccolo demanded sternly.
"What am I doing? Just here to watch the show, of course. I want to see how far Kakarot can push Frieza." Ron's casual demeanor only added to the pressure felt by the trio.
They weren't afraid of Ron attacking; they were afraid of him not attacking and playing some sort of devious game instead.
If Ron didn't make a move against them, but they attacked him, the fault would lie with them.
"Relax, we aren't enemies. In a sense, we're on the same side, and I don't really like fighting and killing anyway," Ron said, sensing their heightened vigilance.
Stating his intentions clearly would save them the trouble of guessing.
Of course, whether they believed him or not was their own business.
Krillin and Son Gohan exchanged a glance, then looked at Piccolo.
Piccolo remained silent for a moment. His vigilance didn't wane, but since Ron had put it that way, he had no choice but to suppress his agitation for the time being.
"You'd better not have any malicious intentions, or I'll make you regret showing up here," Piccolo said coldly.
Hearing this, the corners of Ron's mouth rose even higher.
"Got it, got it." After a perfunctory reply, Ron's thoughts shifted. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes as he added, "By the way, you have the ability to change people's clothes, right? Could you do me a favor and change mine? Something more casual would be nice—I'm really sick of this outfit."
At these words, Piccolo, Krillin, and Son Gohan were stunned once again.
This guy was far too familiar, perhaps even a bit presumptuous.
"How do you know Uncle Piccolo has that ability?" Son Gohan asked aloud.
Hearing the innocent question, Ron winked at him and teased, "Don't all Namekians have that ability? Is it really that strange that I know?"
"Uh... is that so? Piccolo?" Krillin asked, feeling awkward.
How was Piccolo supposed to know?
Even after assimilating with Nail, he hadn't gained all of his memories.
He simply chose not to answer.
A flicker of scrutiny passed through his eyes.
He studied Ron for a long time but couldn't see through his strength.
He could only be certain that Ron was very powerful.
Moreover, there was truly no malice in his energy, so he could tentatively conclude that he wasn't here to cause trouble.
"I can change your clothes, but you have to tell me where you came from. I am certain you were not on Namek before!" Having made up his mind, Piccolo changed his tone to address Ron formally.
In the current situation, having one more friend was definitely better than having one more enemy.
Hearing Piccolo's calm inquiry, Ron put his hands on his hips. Without hiding anything, he began, "You're right! I did just arrive on Namek. You might not believe this, but I was trapped on a primitive planet for twenty-five years. If I hadn't sensed the energy from the battle between Kakarot and Frieza, I might never have been able to leave that place in my entire life!..."
Ron launched into a venting session.
Having been bottled up for far too long, and finally having escaped that planet only to find himself talking to the original Piccolo, Krillin, and Son Gohan, his pent-up emotions exploded, and he suddenly turned into a chatterbox.
Piccolo, Krillin, and Son Gohan were left completely stunned and bewildered by what they had heard.
"Wait a second, you said you were trapped on a primitive planet for twenty-five years! Then how did you even get to Namek?" Krillin asked, unable to comprehend.
"Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. You're lying," Son Gohan followed up with a soul-searching interrogation.
Piccolo remained silent, but it was clear that suspicion occupied the better part of his thoughts.
"Naturally, I locked onto the energy signatures here using Instant Transmission, which allowed me to traverse the cosmos... You might not understand, but the sector where I was trapped didn't have a single life-bearing planet, leaving me unable to leave. I actually have Kakarot and Frieza's battle to thank; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to lock onto their energy and arrive via Instant Transmission," Ron replied crisply, without a hint of hesitation.
There was nothing wrong with telling them the truth.
Besides, there was truly nothing about this situation that needed to be hidden.
"Instant Transmission?"
"Locking onto energy signatures to cross the universe!!"
Krillin and Son Gohan were shocked once again.
Piccolo felt the same.
After the shock subsided, Piccolo quickly regained his composure.
Ron gave him a very strange feeling, as if this guy knew everything about them.
Moreover, he didn't seem the least bit surprised by the situation here.
One had to remember that Frieza was currently locked in a great battle with Son Goku; if he lost, everyone would be killed.
At a time like this, shouldn't he be thinking about how to save his own life?
