"Hiyah!"
"Take this!"
A childish voice roused Carl from his slumber.
Carl had been drinking with Newgate the night before and had overindulged. He hadn't expected the alcohol in this Pirate World to be so potent; then again, considering the world was filled with all sorts of ability users, he realized he had underestimated it. He had passed out completely, and it was Clay who had carried him back in the end.
"Drinking leads to trouble, drinking leads to trouble. I must drink less in the future."
Carl held his forehead. His mind felt a bit foggy, but the sensation dissipated quickly—clearly, his Titan talent was at work.
However, in the back of his mind, he recalled the system giving him a notification yesterday, though he hadn't had the chance to check it at the time.
He didn't worry about it for now; hearing what sounded like Long Yi's voice outside, he hurried out of his room.
Warm sunlight bathed his body.
Not far away, Clay was teaching Long Yi and Long Er some simple physical training.
"The three of you, come here."
"I'm going to teach you a way to utilize energy. See if you can learn it."
Carl wanted to pass on the Golden Light Incantation to them; after all, its defensive properties and raw power were quite impressive.
Furthermore, he wanted to test if he could impart the techniques and skills from his template heroes to the people of this Pirate World.
If it were possible, he could rapidly boost the strength of his subordinates. He would just need to keep a tight grip on their loyalty—not that he feared the techniques leaking, but it was always better to be safe than sorry.
Clay looked excited. Carrying Long Yi in one hand and Long Er in the other, he reached Carl in a few strides. Captain Carl was so strong; whatever he was teaching them had to be a method to become stronger.
"Sit down. I will circulate energy through your bodies for one cycle. Try to perceive this energy."
"I will place some energy within you; try to use it to guide it through your entire body."
Long Yi and Long Er possessed Dragon-Human bloodlines, and Clay was a Fish-Man. None of them were human, so he wasn't sure if it would work, but it was worth an experiment. If they could all do it, it meant this ability could be cultivated normally in the Pirate World.
The three of them immediately sat cross-legged before Carl, their eyes filled with anticipation. Lord Carl was so formidable; he surely wouldn't harm them.
"Lord Carl, we are ready."
Seeing their expectant gazes, Carl began. He first placed his hand on Clay's shoulder.
"Hiss!"
Clay felt a gentle, docile energy flowing into him from Lord Carl's palm.
This strange energy carried an indescribable sensation as it traveled through his acupuncture points, completing a full cycle in no time. It felt as if he were soaking in a hot spring.
Under Clay's perception, his body craved this warm current, and some of his hidden injuries were slowly mending.
However, in the process, Clay broke into a sweat; it was quite painful to forcibly clear some of his blocked meridians.
Clay was already an adult, so his bones and muscles were mostly fully developed; thus, this energy was simultaneously clearing his Governing and Conception vessels.
"Focus on the feeling."
After circulating the energy through Clay for one cycle, Carl left a trace behind and then placed his hands on the shoulders of Long Yi and Long Er.
"Hiss!"
It was the same process, though Long Yi and Long Er felt significantly less pain than Clay, as they were still young and their bodies were not yet fully set.
Clearing their meridians didn't take much effort, and the energy completed a cycle quickly.
Once he finished, Carl stood before the three of them with his hands behind his back, watching the energy circulate within their bodies.
The three of them kept their eyes closed, as if sensing the energy inside.
Suddenly, Carl noticed a glimmer of golden light on Clay's right hand.
A hypothesis formed in his mind.
Congratulations to the host. The ability from The Outcast has been successfully transmitted in the Pirate World. The Pirate World timeline has been slightly modified. Mall module unlocked!
Hearing the system notification, his hunch was confirmed. Clay was the first to stand up, his right hand wrapped in golden light.
It was indeed the Golden Light Incantation, though the light quickly dissipated—clearly, Clay was not yet proficient.
"I was too excited."
"What is this power!"
In his excitement, Clay had failed to control the Golden Light Incantation, causing it to fade.
"This is an energy method I created. I call it the Golden Light Incantation."
"I am entrusting it to you because I trust you enough."
"I hope you will not disappoint my expectations."
My apologies, Old Celestial Master, I'm borrowing the name of the Taoist Eight Divine Incantations—Golden Light Incantation—for now. I hope you don't mind.
"Please rest assured, Lord Carl. I will remain absolutely loyal to you and obey your orders unconditionally."
Clay looked respectful, kneeling on one knee and cupping his hands in salute.
"We are too."
Long Yi and Long Er watched Clay and followed suit.
"Alright, I believe in your loyalty. Get up."
After Carl told them to rise, she felt a secret thrill in her heart. After all, it was now confirmed that the skills of template heroes could manifest in the Pirate World in a reasonable way. Since that was the case, developing her forces in the future would be much easier.
"You must practice this energy more."
Carl instructed them to practice the circulation of this energy frequently to build muscle memory.
"Yes, Lady Carl. I will certainly not slack off."
For Clay, his physical strength had already reached its limit. Now that he had a new way to enhance his power, he was eager to learn it immediately.
"Ah!"
"Thud!"
Long Yi sprawled onto the ground. Long Er was seen holding a golden whip in his right hand, the end of which was tied around Long Yi's ankle.
"Hahahaha!"
Long Er looked at Long Yi lying on the ground and immediately made a funny face.
Under Carl's gaze, he retracted the golden whip.
"You two are quite proficient. Clay, train them well."
Carl wasn't angry; she hadn't expected these two little things to master the application of the Golden Light Incantation so quickly.
"Rest assured, Lady Carl. I will definitely train them well."
Clay rubbed his fists and said with a grin.
Terrified, Long Yi and Long Er hugged each other tightly.
"Also, you must train your physical strength as quickly as possible according to the training methods I taught you."
"Come, follow me."
"First like this, then like that..."
Several hours passed quickly.
"You must train for at least four hours every day."
"Ah! You're kidding, right?"
Long Er had just let out a complaint. After all, the children were still young, and it was normal for them to want to play. Long Er immediately noticed Carl staring at him with a furrowed brow.
"I guarantee the mission will be completed."
He changed his tone immediately.
"You must also master Armament Haki and Observation Haki."
"They are the essential paths to becoming a powerhouse."
"I am only a beginner in this regard myself, so I will find someone to come and teach you."
Carl felt a bit helpless. Her own Armament Haki had been realized during her duels with Newgate and Steel Bone Kong; such a method clearly could not be replicated.
Moreover, she didn't even know how to train her own Observation Haki.
Since she couldn't even master it herself, it was impossible for her to teach them how to learn Armament and Observation Haki; she would have to go and learn them as well.
"You must practice hard and not let my painstaking efforts go to waste."
These were her first batch of subordinates, so they needed to grow well. It wouldn't be worth her effort if she hadn't invested so much into them.
Otherwise, all her hard work would have been for nothing!
