"Have you seen it?" Hermione asked at once. "Neville's pet toad. His name is Trevor."
Wizet gently shook his head. "I haven't seen him, but I'd like you to describe him. What exactly does this pet toad look like?"
"I'll go get Neville!" Hermione swept out of the compartment in a rush.
Penelope asked gently, "Are you planning to use the Summoning Charm?"
Wizet nodded. "Yes. I want to try."
"But you should know, right?" Penelope did not rush to reject Wizet's idea. "The Summoning Charm can only be used on inanimate objects."
"Even when exceptions appear, they're only creatures like Flobberworms. Their structures are very, very simple, so the Summoning Charm can work on them."
"Why not let him try?" Cho Chang suggested from the side. "Wizet is rather special... This morning, he even helped a third-year student finish his preview homework."
"There was actually something like that?" Penelope said in surprise. "Putting curiosity into practice isn't wrong in itself. As a Ravenclaw, what I said just now really was improper."
Wizet smiled faintly. He had a good impression of Ravenclaw.
After this brief time spent together, he rather appreciated Ravenclaw's atmosphere.
After arriving in this world that possessed magic, aside from going to Sweden with Luna to search for the Crumple-Horned Snorkack, learning and exploration had become his primary goals.
This world held too many unknown and wondrous things. Magic that could cover every aspect of life was itself worth his constant study.
Apart from that, there were also the many kinds of magical creatures, or perhaps wizarding ruins he had yet to see. All of them filled him with longing.
Through Lee Jordan's introduction to the four houses, the current Wizet now had a basic impression of them.
If he could enter Ravenclaw, he should be able to spend a decent student life there and lay a foundation for future journeys of exploration.
Very soon, Hermione led the boy who had lost his toad back here.
The boy had a round face, and his bright red cheeks were covered in tears. "Th-thank you... Hermione said... said you could help me find Tre... Trevor..."
Wizet handed over a few tissues. "I need a more specific description. What does Trevor look like? It would be best if you could explain clearly, so the target will be more definite, and I'll be able to help you better."
"Th-thank you!" The boy blew his nose, and much of the sobbing in his voice disappeared. "He's as big as both my palms put together. He's dark brown, and there are thirteen bumps on his back..."
The boy cared a great deal about Trevor the toad, and the details he described were extremely precise.
After a round of talking and gesturing, it was enough for Wizet to form a concrete image.
What he had to do next was very simple...
He drew his wand and waved it lightly, while calling out the incantation: "Accio Trevor the toad!"
The Obscurus core suddenly throbbed, bursting out with a surge of ancient magical power. This power flowed into the wand, and at that moment, the wand gave off a silver-blue glow.
The people in the compartment all looked toward the door at the same time.
A commotion suddenly broke out in the corridor.
"Look! A flying toad!"
"Ah! That's disgusting! It touched my hair!"
"Why would anyone bring a toad onto the train? Where is it going?"
Along with panicked "croaks," a plump toad appeared at the doorway.
It desperately paddled its four limbs, struggling with all its might, but could only helplessly hurtle toward Wizet.
Wizet's eyelid twitched, and he withdrew his wand.
Losing the control of the Summoning Charm, Trevor the toad dropped in free fall and fell into Neville's hands.
"Merlin's beard! A toad this big, the Summoning Charm shouldn't have worked..." Penelope rubbed her eyes and silently opened a box of Chocolate Frogs.
"So it really is like that," Cho Chang said with a smile. "It really is quite interesting!"
Neville kept thanking him. "Thank you so much! I don't even know what to say! I'm Neville, Neville Longbottom!"
Hermione began speaking in a rapid-fire stream again. "Wizet, which house are you planning to go into? Gryffindor? Headmaster Dumbledore came from that house..."
"I haven't thought about that question yet. Probably Ravenclaw? If I can choose..." Wizet answered absently.
His attention was fixed on the Chocolate Frog card. Just now, he seemed to have seen Dumbledore return.
The Dumbledore card that had returned seemed a little different. There was a bit more liveliness in his eyes, and Wizet could sense the kindness within them.
"Shouldn't you go tell the others who were helping? After all, the toad's been found!" Cho Chang's words finally sent Hermione and Neville away.
"Whew..." Watching the two of them leave, Wizet let out a long breath.
Their half hour of thanks and questioning had left him a little exhausted in both body and mind.
Cho Chang laughed softly. "This year's new students really are full of energy."
"They are!" Penelope stood up and straightened the Prefect Badge on her chest. "I have to go to a meeting. This badge actually reminded me to attend by heating up..."
The sky grew darker and darker. Vast swathes of deep purplish-red spread across the heavens, while the mountains and forests below the sky swept rapidly past the window, giving off something of a ghostly, shadow-haunted feeling.
Before long, a hollow voice echoed through the train.
"In five minutes, the Hogwarts Express will arrive at the station. Please leave your luggage on the train. We will deliver it to the dormitories."
Dumbledore set down the chocolate card in his hand, his face full of smiles. "Remarkable magical talent... He's only just come into contact with a wand, and he can already do something to this extent?"
He quickly reined in his smile again, remembering those far from pleasant events of the past, and sighed softly.
"He still needs proper guidance. We can't let what happened back then happen again. One Harry... one Wizet. They both need special arrangements. Looks like I'll be busy!"
Knock, knock, knock...
A knock sounded at the door, and Professor McGonagall, dressed in dark green robes, walked in. "Headmaster Dumbledore, is this year's Sorting list ready?"
"Of course it is. You've come at just the right time." Dumbledore stood, waved his fingers like a conductor, and the parchment scroll on the desk flew up and landed in Professor McGonagall's hands.
The Sorting list was written in beautiful cursive, and only when Professor McGonagall caught the parchment did the emerald-green ink on it dry completely.
Professor McGonagall glanced over the Sorting list. "Wizet's surname is Lovegood? What about his original surname?"
"There's no way to verify it..." Dumbledore shrugged helplessly. "I also investigated that dark wizard... everything is full of mysteries."
"So we can only use the surname Lovegood. Before, it was to protect his safety, so it was never made public."
"It wasn't until today, after Wizet boarded the Hogwarts Express, that I had Xenophilius complete the formalities."
Professor McGonagall nodded. "That was a necessary measure. We didn't expect word to get out before, and the Parkinson Family was so extreme."
"It's already over." Dumbledore waved a hand. "An old Runespoor doesn't have much value... and using a Runespoor egg as compensation counts as a minor punishment to serve as a warning."
Professor McGonagall looked somewhat worried. "Will they look for another chance to take revenge?"
"No." Dumbledore smiled. "I told them in person that I would be keeping an eye on this child from time to time. As long as Voldemort has not returned, they won't dare be reckless enough to go that far."
"That's good." Professor McGonagall said, "I should go. The train is about to arrive."
She walked over to a cabinet, took out a battered old hat, and left the headmaster's office with the Sorting list.
Watching Professor McGonagall's retreating figure, Dumbledore waved again. A purple robe covered in star patterns flew up and dressed itself onto him.
A wizard's hat, also purple, flew up as well and landed on his head.
Ready to go, he gently pulled the door of the headmaster's office shut...
